I echo what others have said. The treatment was good, but the billing is just a step shy of complete scam. No one with authority answers the phone number included on your statement. No one will/can help you with billing issues. They simply wait a month and send the exact same statement. I have been promised an escalation and supervisor will "get back to me" each month when I call and 4 months later, no change. No email address is available. They ask you to confirm that you are contacting All Star Therapy when calling. read more

I'm really bothered that I have to leave this review. I received exemplary patient care from Gabe my physical therapist. The staff and especially Nicole at the front desk were always kind and helpful. However, whoever does the billing is in breach of the law. Let me explain. Calendar year 2024 in August, I hit my out-of-pocket maximum with my insurance. After that, my insurance company paid my co-pays in full because I had reached that maximum. Yet each time I visited they over collected from me that $30 co-pay that I had. I ended up with an almost $600 credit. Nobody had seen that they had double collected from myself and the insurance in 4+ months. I realized their mistake in January and reached out to the billing department for a refund. They stated that their office policy was not to refund anyone's credit if they were still in treatment. I checked with the codes and conduct of profession and businesses of the state of California and that is not legal. They are supposed to refund your money within 30 days of either of them noticing it, or they being notified by the patient. I checked with multiple government agencies and they all concurred. I let Nyshae (from billing)know that their policies cannot contradict the law and she said that's their policy. I sent her the statutes that are sent in place so people do not get ripped off by their providers. There are a lot of senior citizens that get treatment at the office, and my concern is that if they are sitting on my credit, there are probably a number of patients who would also reach their out-of-pocket maximums and weren't aware of it. All star certainly wasn't gonna let them know I was so frustrated with the unethical handling of this and their refusal to refund my credit,It was decided I should discontinue treatment, receive my refund and continue care elsewhere. I am a stickler for businesses, following the rules and not taking advantage of unsuspecting customers. I've contacted them now at least six times,. I spoke with someone named Nancy and told her that I had completed treatment February 18 and she said she would send it to review so they could process my refund. I called again today and spoke with Kaz, and she said that Nancy had documented that I was still in treatment, even though I told Nancy that I was released from care. I was informed today that they will again send that to review for my refund. I see I am not the only low review for the billing department. Which is a shame because the Escondido office does a superb job of treating patients who require physical therapy, but they are engaged in bad business practices that aren't legal. All star has been sitting on my credit since August 2024, and I'm still getting the runaround. After surgery and the stress and discomfort postoperatively, it's very frustrating to deal with these issues. If you are a patient of record with them, you may want to check your EOB's to make sure you are not overpaying. read more

First, I must say that I did not like the facility and the lack of privacy in going through my therapy. I was in a small office size room with 5 other people talking about my situation and working on my therapy. If you prefer a bit more privacy and personal attention, I don't recommend this organization. With regards to the billing, it was absolutely awful. Inconsistent in the office, and it took almost 1 year to get a full explanation of my billing questions, as each statement came in differently. I have been going to the Escondido office and the care for my neck arthritis has been exceptional. Chris and his assistants Nathan and David have been very clear in their explanations and helpful in answering all my questions. Great Staff, Great PT Care! Brian was my assigned PT care provider and was assisted by All Star's wonderful support team. Shout outs to: Saul, Shaheen, Ana and Steady! Additional shout outs to the unsung heroes of the front office: Stephanie and Yvonne, who were great with scheduling. I was seen for a problematic LF knee and after seven sessions, I am as good new, well as good a 55 year-old knee can be--lol! I have my mobility back, but more importantly I finished my treatment with a more positive outlook because I have a clear understanding of my role in taking care of my health. Thank you to everyone who helped get me back to my daily routine, pain free. I highly recommend this All Star PT location. One caveat: allow for extra time to park and be patient, the building is under construction. ;-) read more

Today was my graduation day. I have been working with Gabe and his team for 5 months and when I first started I was in pain every single day. Not just any pain, intense pain that even kept me from sleeping. After 5 months of 1-2 days a week of therapy I can confidently say I have virtually no pain and on the rare occasions I do it's a fraction of what it used to be. Physical therapy and Gabe changed my life. I'm back at the gym and doing the things I love with out worrying about being in pain. I appreciate their patience and hard work to get me where I am now. Physical therapist were amazing all the people helping getting strong amazing! The front end and billing well that leaves a little to be desired. First off I set up 4 appointments right off the bat for 7am get to first appointment and the girl booking the appointments book me under someone else's name for all the appointments. I come in for my first 7am appointment and she says you don't have an appointment I said yes I do you printed them out for me. She said let me see so I go to car and grab the paper with all the appointments and bring it back in. I never looked at it once. When she saw the paperwork she said oh I can get you in later. I said no I work this was my appointment time. I did not pay that day because I did not even want to look at her. Or the next time. I made up for it though because I paid twice one week and said I will pay twice next week to make up for that last one. I never went back and I received a bill end of December. I called and paid it that same day over the phone. I received a bill the following month I called the corporate office and got the run around. Played for tag for 2 months till I finally received a call mid March that they say the payment and we were good. Then today I open my mail box to find that 15 dollar invoice again. It's not about the money it's the principal. They probably should have better system and better book keeping read more

Just finished my physical therapy for my left shoulder. Such a big difference from when I started. I had painful aches in my shoulder bones for 2 1/2 years, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. After 6 appointments, that ache is gone and I can use that arm better. Gabe was my main therapist and then others from the team also helped with my recovery. Very happy with them, so that's why I'm giving them this review. As a Kaiser member, I'm glad Kaiser contracts with them. read more

I don't understand stand why All star physical therapy keep billing. I paid for every session I went to and paid any fee I was ask to pay . Now on two different occasions I get these bills for odd amounts that make no sense. I call there billing location and hard to get though, once you can get thought , no one can explain what I'm being bill for . I then transferred to some useless answering machine and me get a call back . What a scam and waste of my time . I was discharged from therapy months ago . Beware everyone. read more

I can't comment on the therapists because I never made it past the front desk. First of all the parking lot is awful. The office felt old and dingy with a musty smell. The lady at the reception messed up my appointment and then argued with me about how it was my fault. She was not making any sense. It was my first and last visit. I don't have time for incompetence. I went right down the street and found a fabulous place with nice welcoming staff. Overall, it was a blessing in disguise!! All Star is definitely not All Star! read more

UPDATE: I have upgraded the rating as management here made an effort to correct the situation. They also said they saw this as a training opportunity. The did wind up seeing me. The two therapists that treated me were very thorough and did a great job. I'd still caution people to take notes when you make an appointment. Also, call ahead to confirm that you have one. Also, if you feel your treatment is being limited, contact management with your medical group or file a grievance with your HMO. My original review: "I made an appointment over a week ago. I took off work, completed the forms and showed up on time for my appointment. When I showed up, they asked for my name and informed me that I didn't have an appointment. When I told her the name of the person that made the appointment, she said: "Well, that was a floater that was filling in for me." I'm not sure what she intended me to do with this information or why this would be of interest to me. She went on to say that they did not have availability to see me for the appointment I made. She didn't offer any consolation, apologies or offer to make another appointment. Previously, we had problems with this organization limiting appointments for our treatment and saying that we only qualified for '6 appointments -- no more no less.'" read more

First, the positive...the people at All Star for the most part are friendly and knowledgeable. From what I've read on my online joint replacement support group, All Star uses typical, and I'm assuming standard protocols and exercises for rehabilitation after surgery. My therapist is thorough, caring, and professional. I like that she is always on time! The assistants are pretty good also. Equipment is all clean and in good condition. My only complaint with All Star is that I feel like I'm in a dungeon or basement...no windows/natural light. The building itself is hard to find at first; at least it's on the first floor. The parking lot is a nightmare. It's uneven, and bowl shaped in many places. If I didn't have a ride to PT, the walk to my car would be a long one. I've seen many clients with walkers/canes and even a wheelchair struggling to navigate the lot. It may seem like a trivial thing, but the chairs in the waiting area (and you still can't have anyone wait for you in this area) are armless, which for someone who just had leg surgery are hard to use. My husband says to rate a place on the people only, because they're the heart of the business, but these other factors do matter in my opinion. read more

Since 2008, I have had three shoulder surgeries; one left joint replacement, one left joint reversal, and one right joint replacement. The last two surgeries were in 2019 and 2020, and this is when I found All Star Physical Therapy. Gabe has been my Therapist from the beginning and he really helped me get through some of the toughest times in my recovery. The healing has been a little slower on my right shoulder, probably because I'm getting older now, but Gabe and his staff has seen me through it and it's getting better and better everyday. Unfortunately for me, I have a couple more surgeries planned in the near future. With that said, I know that I will be returning to All Star for PT to aid in my recovery. I will not do business with flakes! I had surgery on my shoulder and in a sling for 6 weeks. I was looking forward to starting my Doctor recommended therapy twice a week. Went through the process of all the paperwork they wanted only to have them cancel my appointment. Ok then was looking to the next appointment and they cancelled again. I let Them know I have a great concern for the discomfort and stiffness. They clearly did not care. Now I am going through the process of finding another facility so I can get in next week. I saw my doctor today and he tells me I am suffering from frozen shoulder. I am not one to go out of my way to write reviews but felt it necessary to share this experience. There are alot of other available therapy facilities. Look elsewhere, I am sure anybody that takes the time to look at reviews actually cares about the healthcare that you receive. I will say this. I've been a patient at All Star Physical Therapy in Fallbrook and Vista on and off for about 8 years. My parents have used them for 20+. My recent experience at the Escondido office was the worst ever. I hand carried my authorization letter from the VA to the Escondido office two days before my appointment with Gabe, the Director. On the day of my appointment, I had to go an hour early because my car was in the shop and i got a ride. I filled out forms for 15 minutes and then waited 55 minutes until 10 minutes past my appointment time to be seen. Gabe talked to me about my medical condition for about 15 minutes and then told me i would not be getting any treatment because my paperwork was for a body part that was no longer hurting and he couldn't work on a different problem. I told Gabe it was okay to treat a different body part other than the listed one but he disagreed. Then i pointed out that they'd had the authorization for two days and could have called the VA to get it corrected or told me sooner. He said they were too busy but promised he'd get it fixed and get me back in for treatment right away. A short time later i got a call saying what I'd told them was correct and the authorization was good for anything that needed therapy. However, i needed to call and have the authorization changed to their office because it listed the Vista location. I did so immediately and called back to tell the receptionist it was done. She said i should get it in writing and fax them the change. I don't have a fax at home so i suggested she call the number that only medical providers can use to get the fax she needed. Apparently it never happened. For two days i waited but Gabe never got me in for the promised treatment. Other Yelp comments for the Escondido office surprised me; my experience has been far too common. I am very disappointed that this office is not up to All Star's great reputation and patients are not treated kindly or with respect. I will be seen in the Fallbrook office in a couple of days. read more

We clients are in either pain or substantial physical limitations or both, some of us need to be seen right away, yet it appears they are verunderstaffed. I've been a client of All Star Physical Therapy for several months. I had never had PT before. I had knee surgery (lateral release) in March. Gabriel Perpetua (my physical therapist) and his team are first class! They really know what they're doing. I've been getting good results. Every patient has a customized plan and it changes over time. They push me when I can handle it and they ratchet back if I can't. They're really good about giving me clear instructions on what I can do at home to supplement what I do at All Star. As a general rule, I have experienced incremental progress on almost a daily basis. In addition to their professionalism, Gabriel and his team are fun to work with. As a patient who visited the office from Jan thru May of this year, I witnessed an office this is efficient and truly focused on patient care.
