Rented a piece of equipment to dig holes on a Saturday. We didn't really pay attention to the fact that it close at 5 and didn't open till Monday. Was kind of worried if we get charged more for turning it in Monday morning. First thing I did after getting off work monday morning was drive over to drop it off. Have to say I was very impressed with the level of service .... Super friendly and professional. Guided me in the right direction and unloaded the equipment. Then I went to register and checked out. Glad to find out that they are reasonable and as long as ur turning it in at a decent time they understand things happen. I had a huge DIY project for my house. I needed scaffolding and a trailer to haul the scaffolding and building materials. I'm so thankful that the equipment I rented was good quality and strong for the work I needed to do. The staff at check-in at the front desk was awesome and the guys that loaded up my rental were super helpful. A bit disappointed today. I was rented a unit to do a job and it was not the right piece of equipment for the application of which it was intended. When I brought the unit in to ask for a credit on his equipment he did credit me 20.00 which was kind of him but he should have exchanged it for a smaller unit. Finally started my own DIY project at the house installing turf so I ordered my bass rock and my quarter dust from stoneyard masonry and then I need a plate compactor. thankfully I've always known about the spot in Fairfield for years and always wondered if I ever will rent something? I did rent a plate compactor from start to finish the service was great. My wife and mother-in-law rented the item while I was prepping and setting up the base rock in the backyard. They supplied me with a drain snake wayyyy bigger than what would fit down my drain, even after showing him a photo with tape measure of the drain and explaining to him what I was going to do with it. He gave me a drain snake that cleans out tree roots, which was not my issue, he didn't ask, he gave me the biggest, heaviest most expensive rental he had. I threw my back out trying to get it out the car, only to have to turn around and put it back in and take it back down there to exchange. I had to call family for help of course but damage on my back was done. They loaded it into my car and I really wasn't able to see how big of a snake they had actually given me until I had to get it out. read more

I just recently needed to load a Gaylord box on a pallet on the back of my truck that was 1200 pounds thinking about renting a forklift so I went to All Star rental to see what was available they offered me a manual Forklift that's similar to a pallet jack it worked wonderful the service was great I definitely recommend this type of rental for everyone that need a forklift that don't have the means to charge one or Afford to rent a big one this works great read more

Was in need of a engine hoist and All Star Rents was there for me. I called in advance to reserve the hoist knowing that there probably weren't that many available. Good thing I did, b/c the day before they called me to see if I could get by w/another kind of hoist. Not being familiar with hoists in general, I was hesitant, but in need, so agreed to rent the other if no other option. When I went to p/u hoist, the one I wanted was available. They had one of their guys to to another location to source the one I requested. Above and beyond. I got a quick lesson on how to put it together by watching them take it apart. It worked perfectly. Brought it back two days later and they even removed it from the truck bed. I'm glad b/c the damn thing is heavy. I have no issues going back to All Star Rents if the need arises. We have rented equipment from this company several times and have had nothing but friendly and prompt customer service. Equipment has been in perfect working condition. If you call and reserve your rental ahead of time it makes picking up your equipment go quicker. We have, however, found Saturday mornings to be quite busy so be prepared for a few minute wait, but know that they take care of you in the order you got there. read more

I rented equipment from this location a few times already; never had a problem; great service. The other day I rented a tamper plate for the 4 hour minimum. I used it for an hour and a half job if that. I wasn't able to return it the same day because I didn't have anyone to help me lift it. So I brought it back the next day fully expecting to pay the 24 hour price. The service tech just decided not to charge me extra and sent me on my way! read more

Called today looking for a cotton candy machine and I think Dave answered the phone and was super rude! The website says you have them, you can even check out with them. He was not helpful at all and just short and snappy. If you want to be known as a customer service company perhaps you should train your staff. Or maybe take them off of the phone calls since they don't care to help and want to argue with you. I told him they were on the website and he argued with me, saying, "click on it and it will show we don't have any here in Fairfield." I have never experienced such horrible service, lazy workers, rude, has their friends hanging out in the office. Obviously they are not busy enough to do a good job at customer service. Billing errors not corrected and of course no one is going to assist, it's the good old boy crew in there. I will never patronize this business again and I would strongly advise you to look elsewhere and only go here for your last resort. Don "the branch manager" was so rude even stood up behind the desk when i ?'d him concerning billing like he was intimidating someone. I rented an 8hp tiller last week for an 80ft project and 25 feet into my project it threw a bolt. I returned it and they gave me a 60% refund. Everyone I talked to was helpful and friendly. Rented a trailer in July and went to the dumps, on the way back the axle flange broke. I called and in two hours someone shows up to get me back to the rental yard. Don told me he would not charge me for the rental but i said i would come back and get a trailer another day and pay for one day. I was not able to use the trailer again so Don bills me for it anyways. When I called to get a credit Don told me I waited to long and I did use the trailer. Don forgot to account for the lost time and productivity we suffered because of All Stars substandard equipment. I've rented folding chairs from them about 4 times now. The prices are reasonable and they are very flexible when it comes to when they have to be returned and all that. If your return day falls on a weekend or holiday they just let you keep them at no extra charge until the following day instead of breaking your neck to get them back to them the day of your event. They are not super chatty on the phone....just right to the point, but they are very upbeat and polite. Just renting a dozen chairs here and there is a small deal, so I'm not sure how they are with bigger item and larger quantities, but the rent process is extremely hassle free. I kind of expect those processes to be a pain.....lots of paperwork to sign and/or deposits and explanations of all their policies....you know the red tape that makes you groan when it comes to renting anything. But they make it fast, easy and groan free. I appreciated being able to call them up the day before Christmas eve (because I forgot all about it until the last minute) and having them tell me no problem when do you want to pick them up! P.S. When I forgot to return my chairs the day after Christmas, we brought them in the following day and they only charged me 1/2 price being late one day. read more

I rented a forklift from All Star Rents, Fairfield, Monday afternoon, with a Tuesday delivery so that I could off-load an 1855-lb crate I was expecting to arrive from Sacramento. A large capacity forklift was the only way I was going to be able to get the crate out of the truck and I needed the forklift ASAP. Robert (driver) showed up ahead of schedule and stood by for 10-min. while we waited for the truck to arrive. I only needed the forklift for about 20-minutes and planned on just letting Robert leave with it instead of keeping it through tomorrow. The crate proved to be more difficult to move than expected; its footing was damaged (one corner setting on the ground) and it required the help of the truck driver to work together to slide the 10' long crate out onto the lift-gate, balance between the forks and the lift-gate to lower to the ground, and ultimately move onto my property. Robert was not only very patient, he provided guidance to us as we balanced the crate (containing a $6,500 paint booth) down to the ground and to its temporary resting place. When Robert arrived, he told me that he could wait for a "short time", if I didn't need the forklift long, or he would have to leave to pick up equipment in the field and would return tomorrow to pick it up. I truly appreciated Robert's patience in my inexperience of operating a forklift, and his guidance that helped me receive the delivery and avoid damaging my new piece of equipment. It is not often that I need to rent a forklift but I do have a need for specialized, expensive equipment that I would prefer to rent than purchase, only to use once or twice a year. Robert's customer service today makes my choice of future rentals simple. They will all come from All Star Rents. read more

Rented a cut off saw and it failed to start properly. I brought it back and tried to explain. They just bypass the safety and told me it was great. I rented two pieces of equipment the other had a bad cord. Charged me full price and showed no customer service. I will go somewhere else next time. read more
