The jewelry on my tragus piercing fell out on a Sunday evening. The piece was so small I knew I would never find it again, so I looked around and found All Star which was open on Sunday. I headed over and told them what I needed and they told me that Trevor was doing a piercing. I expected to have to wait since I didn't have an appointment. After a bit of waiting Trevor set me up with new jewelry in both ears which I really love. Great experience for walking in on a Sunday evening! I've only had a piercing done here, but they are awesome! I know a good bit of healing and tons of info on piercing and tattoos, but Trevor thoroughly explained how to heal and what to expect. The shop is an awesome atmosphere and clean is really an understatement. You can see, touch, and smell cleanliness. I've seen work done by them and I cannot WAIT to get my next tattoo here!!!! I have been coming here since 2002 and I would definitely recommend coming here for any tattoo! Jeremy has done 5 tattoos of mine(out of 6), one being a back mural, and I will be coming back here in the future for sleeves. As an artist myself, I am very critical of good linework, but All-Star's artists are fantastic. This place was awesome!! I walked in to get a nose piercing and Sam totally took care of me! He was very informative and laid back at the same time. He kept light conversation and made me laugh before and after the piercing experience. I also really liked the atmosphere of the shop. I had a wonderful experience at All Star yesterday. Mandy was incredibly friendly and helpful when I called with questions before going in & Trevor did a fantastic job with my ear piercings (much better than the experience I had as a child, hence me having to get the piercings redone). Despite being a very busy Saturday, my wait time was very short. Trevor was very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. I've only been to one other tattoo shop for myself and that place being the only place to compare, All Star blows them out of the water by far. Ryan gave me a lip tattoo that was absolutely perfect and he even retouched my first tattoo (that had been 4 years old at that point) and it looked better than ever! I don't know any of the other guys work, but Ryan was great. If I still lived there I would prob. keep him as my artist until he gave me reason not to. read more

I would give this place zero stars if I could. I came in wanting new jewelry for my conch piercing because I was tired of sleeping on my hoop one. I came in and the piercer wasn't there and they told me to come back in a couple hours (which isn't a problem usually piercers operate on their own hours). I came back and the gentleman helped me find a piece of jewelry and helped put it in (which I could have done myself). He asked if I wanted to pay in cash or card and I asked how much it was. 25 fkn dollars! For a piece of jewelry... I could have gotten a new piercing entirely for that price. Unless this jewelry is gold plated I don't understand why it's that steep of a price. I'm glad I'm not from around here people in Kansas don't take advantage of people like that. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. Not to mention the receipt had a tip section nope. read more

I came here to get my rook pierced. I was greeted warmly by the girl at the counter and she was pretty knowledgeable about jewelry and pricing, and she even offered advice. i have had 2 of 2 tattoos done here and have been nothing but impressed by the professionalism and the warm atmosphere of AllStar. My first visit was for my boyfriends first tattoo. we were greeted warmly by the blond chick at the desk. she was awesome and even offered to get us food from the sandwich place she was going to for lunch. how sweet is that?! he ended up getting a tattoo Ed who was as sweet as they come. he engaged himself in genuine conversation and is interested in getting to know his clients. he was my number one choice for my first tattoo that i got about a month after my boyfriends, which im happy to say i got for number 1. i went back to here a year later for tattoo number 2 and was excited to see the same friendly staff from before. i was disappointed to see that ed was not working that day, and since i was dying to this tattoo i decided to go with the first available artist with some reluctance. His name was Omar and he was, yet again, extremely friendly and genuinely interested in engaging in non superficial conversation. that sealed the deal for me as far as where i plan on going for tattoo #3 (which will be sooner rather than later). the pricing in my opinion is fair and balanced, (unlike Fox News). coming from chicago, i was surprised at how cheap it is. would have cost at least double in chicago. I will definitely be back, and very very soon. maybe this weekend!!! read more

Came here for my first tattoo and I am absolutely thrilled with the ink and the experience as a whole. I was greeted with smiling faces by the friendly, attentive staff and only had to wait a few minutes despite having no appointment. I told Andy (my artist) what I was looking to get and he whipped up a few alternatives in a flash. Andy did a great job putting me at ease and describing what to expect. I enjoyed our conversation throughout the session and he was more than willing to answer any questions. The price was extremely reasonable and I was provided with both verbal and written instructions on how to care for my tattoo upon leaving. I would definitely recommend this shop (and Trade Bob's, which is under the same ownership and actually share some artists/staff), and I would return if/when I decide to get another tattoo. read more

So, I moved to the stl area a couple of years ago, from southern MO. I have had an itch to get another tattoo & was too scared to trust someone in the area. Mostly bc I don't know many people & the ones I do aren't inked up. Also, I had 6 tattoos & all of them had been done by the same person back home. Anyway, I recently reached a milestone in my weight loss journey (100 pounds lost) & decided to reward myself with a tattoo to signify my weight loss. I came on yelp & decided to check out All star bc they really good reviews. I was still CRAZY nervous even when I came in to talk to someone. But the guy at the front desk is super nice & I spoke with Luke about my tattoo & he made me feel very comfortable & like he knew what he was doing. Didn't hurt that he was doing a huge, very detailed tattoo on a girl as I was talking to him as well. Anyway... Long story short, he drew up a picture exactly as I had wanted. & before I knew it... I had a new addition... Which just so happens to be my favorite tattoo of all time. During the tattoo process he talked & sang & made it a lot less awkward & painful than it could have been. &... The best part is he's not heavy handed. It didn't hurt any more than it had too. So, if you're looking to get a tattoo... Please take my word, the word of a SUPER picky, spastic woman who doesn't trust just any tattoo artist... & go see all star. Ask for Luke. But, even if he's unavailable... The rest of the crew busted out some great work while I was there. But, Luke def has a customer for life. Oh..... & I forgot to mention.... They are VERY, VERY reasonably priced. I had anticipated much more than what I ended up paying. & I didn't not get a small tattoo. I even felt like i jipped him on a tip bc I loved my new tattoo so much, that I ended up sending him cash in the mail. I'm that impressed. Lol. (I'm not creepy, swear. Haha) Anyway... These guys were awesome! The girl at the counter was very sweet and seemed generally interested in what I wanted done. I had to wait about an hour because I was a walk in, but she always kept me in the loop and told me what was going on. I had been to Iron Age right before that to get my lip tattoo fixed and get a small symbol on my arm, and they were extremely rude and told me they couldn't do what I wanted. When it was my turn, I told my artist, Luke, exactly what I wanted and he said it was no problem. I was extremely happy with the work and the price! Today, I went to All Star Tattoos to get my 3rd tattoo. I went on the recommendation from a couple of coworkers who had tattoos done there. I was greeted by Zach, who was very nice. They were booked for a couple of hours, so we made an appointment for later ($20.00 to make the appointment, goes towards fee) and off I went. Well, they had a couple of cancellations, so I received a phone call to come on in and get my tattoo. I was introduced to Luke and told him that I wanted the basic peace symbol inside my left wrist. Took him no time to do that one, and I really like it. I also talked to him about finishing a tattoo on my right wrist.I have a flower on the inside wrist but wanted a bracelet to finish out the tattoo. Luke knew exactly what I wanted and even made a suggestion that I really liked. Bottom line, love what he did with that tattoo Minimal discomfort on both. The place was clean, Luke was very nice and I would definitely go back to HIM for my next tattoo, The price was VERY REASONABLE for both tattoos. I am so glad that I stopped in. read more

Had a great experience here the first time around when my husband had a tattoo done to celebrate his recovery from a pretty traumatic cancer surgery. Morgan did a great job, so we came back (all the way from Chicago), to have her do mine. I had never had a tattoo, but after giving it much thought, and sending ideas to Morgan via email, I felt good with my decision, and was looking forward to having it done while visiting over Labor Day weekend. Unfortunately, I was taken by surprise when Morgan showed me a much larger design, that really wasn't quite what I had envisioned. I was not ready to commit to a tattoo four times the size of what I had expected. If there was an issue with the size, I'm not sure why that hadn't been communicated to me before making the trip. My husband and I were both appalled at how quickly her attitude changed, and the snarky remarks she made when I asked her if there was any possible way to do it smaller (I was open to coming up with a similar, less-detailed design, but that wasn't offered). Needless to say, We took our business to Top Shelf in STL. The artists there were amicable and took the time to come up with an idea that fit the size I wanted, yet was simple enough to not lose the integrity of the design in years to come. If she had communicated that in a professional manner from the get-go, she would've earned our business. read more

I had my third tatto done here just over a year ago. FIrst off, my artist Omar made the drawing at least twice the size I had asked for. I figured, "what the heck? I might as well go with it." This was before I found out how heavy-handed he was. I had it put on my outer right calf and for the entire hour and a half it took to get the tattoo done I was in pain. My husband tried to talk me out of getting it colored in but I had decided in the beginning it was all or nothing, so I stuck it out. Then, I got cellulitis in the area I had the tattoo done. This hasn't ever happened to me before. It might have been that it was winter so I couldn't go around bare-legged; I don't know. I do know though that with my other two tattoos the endorphins kick in after a while and the pain eases, but this one was just as painful at the end as it was in the beginning, if not more so. Maybe Omar thought fat chicks need heavier-handed tattoos. Well, we don't. I was also a bit disappointed that my morning glories don't look like morning glories. I should have spoken up before he started but I know that the drawing doesn't include shading so I thought it would be different when he was done....well, it was different and definitely not a morning glory. Overall, I am pleased with the work. That being said, next time we'll go somewhere else for our tattoos. read more
