I was four days late on paying off a loan and I just wanted to renew them. I was real sick and so I couldn't get there on 13 March so I go that Friday the 17th to renew them and they wanted to charge me $70 to renew two pieces of jewelry that I barely even got $70 for they must be losing their mind. New management my ass do not do business with all that glitters. If you really want a savvy, dynamite, fair pawn shop, go to Silver Lining they have got to be the most fairest around. All that glitters now has these fast talking young folks and they're trying to make you think that you're stupid I kept one of my pieces the other piece I could care less about so they can have it and they'll probably get much more for than what I paid, but you know what it's not worth me getting a headache over just know all that glitters now rips you off . And the bad part is they're under new management and they didn't even bother to tell their customers or let them know what the changes would be. I have been pawning and purchasing from this location for the past two years. I have always been treated wonderfully and helpfully by the staff. I have had to pawn jewelry when I was short of cash and I was ashamed of myself for being in such dire straits but you wouldn't know it based on how respectfully and kindly I have been treated. Always fair and provided with lots of information. I was helped when purchasing gifts for my husband and given fair prices. Recently I realized I had missed paying my interest and I was heartbroken because my wedding ring was one of the items I thought I had lost. Mario said two of the items were still there including my wedding band. I am hoping I can get it back or at least back into pawn so I can get it back and on my ring finger. Toni, Michelle and Jacob are always friendly and encouraging. They have helped me figure out what I need to pay and by when with a smile and professional attitude. Walked in, made eye contact with someone behind the counter, waved hello and did not even get an acknowledgement. They just went right back to whatever they were doing. Walked over the the musical instruments and guns, still not even a "hello." Walked around, no one said a word to me, and I left, still not a sound from a single one of the 4 people behind the counter. I was literally the only customer in the store this whole time. This is one of the best Pawn Shops I've been to in the city of Portland! They have an amazing team there, Katy and Anastasia are very nice and super helpful. They always give me a fair price for my equipment and they always greet me with a smile! Michelle is awesome too, she makes jokes and is always a smiling face at All That Glitters. It's very easy to go back and it feels like I'm making a deal with my friend, not a shady pawnbroker who's looking to bleed me dry for my things. Visited today to check on their photography equipment offerings. Found a lens at a good price. Will pick it up tomorrow. Very friendly staff seemed pretty knowledgable. I brought in an old Morgan silver dollar to check on their prices - was disappointed with their offer. Much much less than other places. They gave good advice: take it to a coin dealer. Overall I was very satisfied with this place, and will add them to my list of pawn shops I check with regularity. read more

I have been with the All That Glitters Store since 2007. I have always received good customer service. My television was too heavy for me to get into my car. One employee carried it to my car and helped me put it in the back seat so it wood not get damiged. I saw a very bad review about this store, and while reading the review I found a link to other reviews that person posted. For someone who is so poor, they are staying in $250 a night motels for free by planting dirty hyperdermick needles under the mattress. Another review was posted about Silver Lining Loan & Jewelry. In this review, they played the discrimination card claiming that the employees are racist. Chronic negative reviews. I will still continue to shop in both stores. Readers should let the employees good service speak for itself. Let the bitter angry people have their own space. read more

If I could put negative stars I would, they don't even deserve 1star. All that glitters on Lombard, there employees are rude and not about customer satisfaction in anyway. They definitely do give fare prices when selling to them or buying. I will never go there again even though they are so close to my house, I will drive across town instead. I called beforehand and asked if they bought desktop computers and they said as long as I brought the computer with the keyboard and mouse and monitor in. So, I did that the next day. There were only two people at the counter and no one else was in the store. They were rude and cold to me and barely acknowledged me and they flat out told me that they don't take home computers. It would have been nice if they had made that clear before I drove my gas out and wasted my time coming there. I guess I wasted their time while they were both probably looking at Facebook on their computers. These folks lost a possible customer. read more

I visited the Lombard store on 3-20-2016 and was greeted by Mario. I had two rings from family members who had long passed away, a gold and diamond man's ring, and a woman's gold wedding band. Mario is very gracious, professional, intelligent, knowledgeable, and told me how the diamond and gold secondary markets work, which is all true based on what I already knew, my brother creates jewelry. Mario told me how to maximize what I could get which had nothing to do with the store, he gave me honest strategy. I appreciate real people and honesty, Mario is all that. I looked around the store too, it is safe and inviting. Pawn shops are a trip, there are amazing societal stories that come through their doors, I have always found them interesting and more people should consider what they have to offer, they are snapshots of society through time. Not only have I experienced bad customer service there, but also caught them trying to rip me off when they purchased some silver I brought in. After weighing it and stating the dollar amount they would give me for it, I questioned them on it and asked them to weigh it again and let me see what the scale showed. A Tale of Two Specialized's So, recently, or now, "All That Glitters" is selling a Specialized Expedition bicycle that's not any newer than the 2004 model. It could be older than that, and probably is. They're asking 299$, which is 9$ more than that bike went for when it was brand spanking new in 2002, 2003, or 2004. The blue book value of that bike in "like new" condition is 83$. Talk about a mark up. To boot, the bike isn't even in "like new" condition. It's in "fair" condition at best (brakes need adjusting, and there're probably some other parts that need tuning up). That bike, in "fair" condition, is worth no more than around 50$, according to the blue book on bicycles (just google it, you'll find it -- it's a very good website, or phone app). So, All That Glitters, which is supposed to be a PAWN shop (where things are marked down), is trying to sell that bike at 600% of what it's worth according to blue book value. Truthfully, they should probably be selling it at 40$ -- less than the bb value. Who is running that shop? Who is estimating prices? It's a "crime" to charge a ludicrous amount like that for something out of date, that wasn't worth that much money to begin with. My guess is that the bike isn't the only product that's marked up waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay toooooooo high (to beyond laughable, ridiculous, ludicrous levels. There isn't a word in Entish, Elven, Dwarvish, or the tongues of men for such steep prices. Though, perhaps the language of Mordor might have a word for it). However, in the interest of fairness, I should note: when I took my own Specialized (Hardrock) bike in there for a quote, they told me about 30$. My bike was a little better (I think) than the one that "Glitters" has/had, as it was a Hardrock -- one of Specialized's signature makes. I was miffed at the time, but now that I've done some research and realize the low re-sale value on used bicycles, it's safe to say that 30$ was probably a fair price. At least they know probably know how much to pay for purchased items. I'm doing my best to be generous, and giving them two stars. read more

This is literally the worst pawn shop I have ever been to in my whole life. They totally low ball if they will even buy anything. The ladies here are either lazy or racist and I only say that because I can not comprehend this : I came in with a mic stand "Ohh, we don't buy mic stands..only microphones" so I come back in with three microphones (2 really nice condensers and the lady is like "ohhh there is no way to test these..we don't really buy microphones anymore" ?? I came in with a 150 dollar tripod "We don't buy tripods because once we bought one and the top plate wasn't on it" "Right..but mine HAS the top plate on it" "Well...we don't buy them anymore unless the CAMERA IS CONNECTED TO IT" ?? Absolutely horrible and they never have anything for sale and the stuff they do is WAY overpriced.
