I went in looking for a specific brand of dog food. I was told "we don't have that" then they looked at me with a blank stare.... I prompted them by asking for a suggestion for a similar option. Then one made a gesture towards the dog food area and provided no further support. My experience was definitely awkward and weird. I'm probably in this particular All The Best Pet Store more than I am at the grocery store. Everyone is always nice and welcoming, whether I have my cat with me in his travel back-pack or my super ampted dog. The variety is great and they are always willing to do special orders if they can order it through their supplier. It's also awesome that they offer a discount for every 12 cans of food bought, and their rewards points add up fast for money off! I've been a devoted customer at the Ballard Market & Holman location since it opened. Great staff, usually! Until Oct 25th, 2019 @ 6:25p. Yah! They'll know who I am! Alex (female) and an older gentleman were behind the counter looking at another customers phone (pet photos) and glanced at me as I entered but not a single smile or a hello. Sad It's a simple act welcoming customers into a store. Maybe because I'm Asian? I got nothing. What a cold environment. As I roamed the store (ONLY CUSTOMER) gathering cat food then making my way to the dog snack bins asking about beef cheek chews, the older gentleman walked back into the store talking to Alex about how he worked another store but now he's at this store for a year - looked at me but again didn't say hello, welcome me to the store or ask if there's anything I can help you with? I guess people are used to ordering shit online, they forget how to interact with human beings. As I'm examining a huge bag, I ask "do you/they offer smaller portions? I'd hate to be stuck with a $22 bag of chews. Alex responded with "no", still behind the counter. As I'm looking further, I see other sizes are offered in the snack bins. "Oh look, they do offer other sizes! Alex still remains behind the counter not knowing what the hell to do - at all. Normally I ignore hermits that have no clue how to interact with people, BUT my husband walked in and she said "hi!" to him. ... As I'm paying, my husband and I were talking about great customer service from a person we hired recently and he said it's because he wasn't a MILLENNIAL. I think that made her freeze up even more (I think). Manager/Owner of All the best. Please - there has got to be better candidates that can at least smile if they can't speak words or move from their "safe zone" to help a customer asking Q's!! Last year, Xena Bengal Warrior Princess joined our family. I made the decision to feed her raw food even before I brought her home. I've been to a number of pet stores and shop at All the Best because of the Healthy Rewards card. The program is free and each dollar spent equals one point. At 400 points, you get $20 to apply to your purchase. It doesn't sound like much but it's more than I get at other pet stores that sell the type of food Xena eats. She eats both frozen and dehydrated raw chicken. The quality has always been consistent. I also buy toys and treats here from time to time. They always seem to have the latest products, which is nice. When paying for our food, they always ask if I'd like to take a treat home for Xena which is very sweet. They fit a lot of product in this store. They have a consistent level of customer service at this store. read more

Sweet, kind staff that legitimately love animals and love fawning over my two Labradors. The dogs always get free treats and samples, and the staff always has very helpful recommendations and tips. I'm a pretty serious dog mom, and they always take me seriously. Great selection of food, treats, and toys for those who also take their four-legged friends seriously. Best part? This place rocks the casaba. Great holistic pet food and supplies, lots of inventory from the best manufactures IMO. Always helpful staff who are both interested in your pet's happiness but knowledgeable about holistic pet food diets. Wish it wasn't quite as expensive as it is, but that is to say I wish living didn't cost so much, they have some of the most competitive local retail prices. Pupdate: the manager of the store offered to help remedy the situation by sending me a gift card for my next order and said the issue was brought up at the last staff meeting. Hooray!!! I'm glad there are companies out there that still treat their customers well and try to mend relationships with customers that have had a legitimately crummy experience. Hooray! I went in for a harness for my dog and Sami was very helpful. I had no idea what kind of leash or harness I wanted for my dog Bruno and she was super knowledgeable and helped me fit my dog with multiple harnesses. I've always bought my little pomeranian's food here because they have the best natural pet products. Recently, however, I arrived at the store at 8:15 to find it closed. I knocked on the door, as I was desperate for dog food because we were out. To my surprise, the woman at the counter opened the door! She told me the cash registers were all shut down, but because it was a (minor) emergency.... she gave me a free sample of their Acana fish formula food! I'm not talking about a few bites of sample either. This was a bag that has now lasted four days! My dog LOVED it. I came back to buy more, and the associates were very knowledgable and kind. Took my newly adopted Boston Terrier to the store for a preschedule anesthetic-free dental cleaning. The staff were all very welcoming & provided excellent recommendations for products and ideas for him while we were waiting for our appointment (we arrived early). When it was time for our appointment, the veterinarian provided a thorough exam of not only his teeth, but ear and skin condition. She then informed me that his teeth were actually in good shape and not in need of a cleaning yet. They then reimbursed me for the $25 deposit I paid prior, even though they took the time to perform all the exams and go over possible remedies to lessen his separation anxiety issues. My wife and I go here almost weekly to get cat food. The staff is very friendly and always greets us with a smile and remembers us. We specifically go to All The Best because they stock Feline Naturals canned cat food, which is extremely hard to find in the Seattle area without special ordering!!! They always keep full shelves and the staff is more than happy to bring fresh cases up front if they run out of specific flavors we may need. Been coming here for a while. Service is usually okay. The A-board outside mentions free samples, but the staff is usually hit and miss about offering them to me or offering me help out with heavy items. I recently went in to get something I have been buying there regularly for months now. It wasn't on the shelf, so I asked a sales person if they had it in the back. He wasn't sure so he asked another salesperson who simply said, "We don't have that." No mention of when it might be restocked, or even acknowledging that the store had ever carried it in the first place. I guess "We don't have that" was the only utterance I deserved. I spent ~ $40 at this shop during that visit on Easter Sunday and will never return due to this policy and lack of understanding. I phoned All the Best looking for cat food because I happened to be in the area and not close to my normal store. I called and asked if they carried Science Diet, they said no because "Science Diet doesn't live up to our standards"..I understand now, but not prior to this, that they have a more natural selection of pet food, but it was so condescending to say it to me that way...I love my pet, he has a structural problem in his bowels, trust me, I have tried EVERYTHING, all the natural stuff, and only one formula from one manufacturer is gentle enough on his system. I think there is a much more tactful way to convey to a potential customer that you are a natural pet store and do not carry conventional brands...that's all they needed to say-not that I am feeding my beloved pet crap! read more

Such great service at this location, my dog loves the treats and special care he receives from the overly accommodating staff. They remember my dogs name (and sometimes mine too) and really go the extra mile to make sure he's well cared for and to answer all my questions.
