There always seems to be a new excuse. Today's experience was the final straw. We had booked a bath, brushing, paw pad trim, and sanitary trim. After we arrived, we were told the groomer assigned to us couldn't complete the service because our dog's fur was "compacted" (not matted) and we'd have to reschedule with someone else. What didn't make sense is that the same groomer was apparently able to do the sanitary trim but somehow couldn't trim any other part of his body because of his coat. At this point, it feels like they look for reasons to avoid completing appointments. Every time we bring in our large dog, the staff seem visibly frustrated before the appointment even begins. If your salon isn't equipped or willing to work with large breeds, just be upfront about it instead of repeatedly canceling or making excuses. The staff haven't been welcoming, the salon appears consistently overbooked, and the customer experience has been incredibly disappointing. I can't recommend this location for grooming.

The girl said she will let the other staff know that I need help, but that "she's very busy right now". I hung around for another 10 minutes or so, and took my business elsewhere. Got my tetras (and more) from a local fish store. Unfortunately, not my first time experiencing lack of customer service support at this location.

I…read moreoccasionally will scope out some of the deals here which I recommend, but this will mostly be about the grooming services here. I come here because it's fairly reasonably priced for the service of cut, washing and nail clipping. I've used a couple different groomers here and it varies. What varies is the friendliness, but I feel like "how's your dog today? How's it going today?" is a good start. I haven't gotten that in my last couple visits. I get a groomer looking like they're coming off they're break and still looking exhausted and only somewhat interested in doing the job. That said I am generally satisfied with the actual grooming, but the little details I ask for are sometimes missed, and I've gotten that attention to them before. The staff are usually friendly, and the store is well stocked though it's not usually where I get my pet needs. The clearance rack is something I like about this Petco and have scored some nice deals browsing it each visit. So, while this Petco is ok, the services are a tad hit and miss.

WOMEN & HANDICAPPED BEWARE! A male grooming employee (glasses, beard, dark hair, about 5'7") who…read morewas likely walking into work/the Petco threatened me and accosted me in the parking lot as I was having a medical emergency and on the phone with my doctor in my car, because he assumed I was not parked in the correct parking spot (I pulled off the road into the parking lot swiftly due to my emergency and found the most safe and closest parking spot available for my safety). Evidently the spot was not clearly marked as handicapped (as the spot next to it was) and although I didn't have a handicapped sign, I was having a medical emergency so I assumed it was ok to park and in my emergency/handicapped state of being I was not being overly cautious about parking in a particular spot because my health was more important. I directly and firmly asked and told the employee to leave my car's vicinity and he said he can stand where he wants to and he will be reporting me to the store and the state. He proceeded to take pictures of my car and recorded me as he walked around my vehicle with his camera as I was having a medical emergency in my car. Once my medical condition lessened, I entered the store to speak with a manager. I spoke with an assistant manager who was very professional, empathetic, and lovely. She directed me to her manager, Justin (another male), who, when I explained the situation, came to the defense of the employee stating that I should not have escalated the situation & I should have allowed him to maintain and continue his intrusive behavior as I was in a medical emergency or I should have entered the store to speak with someone (...during my medical emergency, really?!) and it was my fault because I defended myself with the employee. Absolutely unprofessional, sexist, patriarchal, chauvinistic, assumptive of people's intentions, dismissive, disrespectful, anti-disability (male) upper management & (male) grooming employee of this Petco. I will never give my business to this Petco and will spread the word of my experience.

And what was especially nice when I visited this location, my best friend/fur baby was with me! My dog was absolutely spoiled here, which is why I love this place. Anywhere that caters to dogs makes me an instant fan, but The Seattle Barkery has high-quality, healthy treats for the fur babies, in addition to some swag and accessories that they sell in the store. Plus, they also customize cakes, which you can order and pick up from here. My dog was given lots of treats by the super friendly staff here. The staff even let us try the treats before making a purchase after she learned that my dog can be picky about some treats, which was super nice and allowed me to not waste my money on something she wouldn't eat. I was able to take home a lot of treats for her, including new treats my dog has never had before but ended up loving! First, the good...no, the great:…read more I took our new rescue schnauzer here for an evaluation, where it was determined that Georgie needs private lessons as he is extremely reactive. Annabelle, our evaluator, also taught Georgie and me a few things to work on, and even after the evaluation, I learned a ton and Georgie was already on his way to becoming a changed man! So we signed up for 4 private lessons. Last week we had our first private lesson, and again, both Georgie and I learned a ton! Annabelle really is a great trainer. I'm well aware of Aurora's reputation, but since it's a very long street, I didn't think too much of the location. After the session last week, a man came out of nowhere and asked for money. I politely declined and he started thanking me and then went into some weird swearing tirade. Okay, fine. We got in the car and I instinctively locked the doors right away. Good thing, because he somehow circled my car without my noticing, and then he quickly walked over to a nearby car and started peering in the windows before going over to IHOP. I went home and asked my husband, who has been up here working in various locations due to his job with public transportation, about the specific area and what he thinks. He said that even he wouldn't feel comfortable in that area, near that IHOP, etc and said he didn't realize it was on THAT section of Aurora or he wouldn't have allowed us to go there in the first place. Between that and our need to move out of Seattle within the next few weeks for his job, I ended up cancelling the remaining sessions. Shame, because I really like how Zoom Room is operated and felt we were learning a lot! I'm concerned about Annabelle and the other young lady working in there by themselves after dark, even though it's dark fairly early, still, at this time of year.

I took a break from Zoom Room for a year but recently started coming back again. I attend their…read moregroup obedience and agility classes on a regular basis with my reactive dog, but I've been able to manage it very well in this class because everyone is so attentive to their dog. I never thought I'd see so much progress with my dog's reactivity until I started attending obedience here and using the skills I learned on our walks everyday. After several months of consistently going here, I can honestly and confidently say that my dog thrives in this environment. Melissa is an amazing obedience trainer and she helps us troubleshoot our training hurdles in such a creative way. She is very talented at what she does and really helped me reconsider alternative ways to get my dog to stop jumping on people for greetings (but still within the realm of positive reinforcement and force free training). As for agility, Agility 1 might be a bit slow moving because all the dogs are getting used to the equipment but once you advance to the higher levels, it does become a more efficient use of time and all the dogs seem to have a blast. I believe that Obedience 1 is a prerequisite for the agility classes but keep in mind that the agility classmates are all at different levels of obedience so you might have to do a bit more management than usual while you're in the waiting area. Some owners are not super considerate about breaking their dogs' fixation but with that being said, there is plenty of space to spread out from one another so I think generally it should not be an issue unless your dog is extremely reactive.
