We hired him during a very difficult period in our lives after reading many positive reviews regarding CPS and juvenile dependency representation. Unfortunately, our experience did not match the expectations we had when retaining the firm. We provided extensive documentation and information that we believed was important to our case. However, we did not feel that key evidence and concerns were effectively presented or addressed. We were also disappointed by what we perceived as a lack of strategic advocacy regarding issues that were central to our case. A family member, who is a minor, was falsely accused of inappropriately touching a child. We knew beyond any doubt that the allegations were false. However, we soon became aware that when CPS is involved, you are "guilty" until proven innocent and the burden of proof is on you. The process involved is long and complex, including a pre-filing investigation, which includes interviews by the county and a home assessment. However, the most difficult aspect is that your child (or children) could be removed from your home--their home. In addition, when a case involves CPS, the attorney must possess specific knowledge and experience and must be certified to work on such cases.  Needless to say, the entire situation was overwhelming.
