I've been taking my aging Acura and the family Honda to All Tune and Lube in Olathe for years for oil changes and other routine maintenance. A few minor problems have come up with both vehicles and the guys at All Tune and Lube have always taken care of them. Even after I moved across the state line from Olathe to Kansas City, I continued going to them because they're always friendly, professional and reasonably priced. Most importantly for me, they've been unfailingly honest. I'm an older woman whose knowledge of cars is limited to how to drive from point A to point B (with the help of a GPS); in other words, I'm a prime target for shady mechanics. But these guys I trust completely. Thanks to them, mechanical problems I've thought were major, have turned out to actually be minor and relatively inexpensive to fix. Most recently, all the dash lights came on in the Acura and the steering wheel began to shimmy. I had the car towed about 20 miles to All Tune and Lube expecting to hear it was time to look for the nearest auto graveyard but, once again, the guys came through. Within two days, they diagnosed the problem and fixed it for under their extremely reasonable quoted estimate. I can't say enough about how great the people and the service at All Tune and Lube are! Here's the scenario- Daughter takes car to Jiffy Lube, line to engine "somehow" gets pulled from engine and sprays oil all over engine components..tick starts in engine, mom finds out. **The owner tried to call and discuss this but his number is "Restricted" so I couldn't call back, I appreciate the thought though...if the owner is seeing this then please call me again!** I went to All Tune and Lube after a week of hearing strange clicking and high pitched hissing noises from my engine. I told them exactly why I was bringing my car to them, for the reasons I mentioned above, and that my check engine light had come on a week or two before. They called me the same afternoon and told me that I just needed oil. I was very excited to hear the "fix" was so easy! They told me the clicking I heard was due to my wheel bearing not being set in correctly, I asked about the process of fixing the wheel baring but the man on the phone told me he didn't know anything about it and made no effort to find out. I picked up my car, feeling a little annoyed that they didn't try to help me with the wheel baring and decided I would eventually take the car some where else. Well a week later I was still hearing hissing and clicking noise from my engine and I just knew it couldn't be normal or safe for me to be driving the car like that! The check engine light came on again so I took the car to another Automotive Repair business (Vega's Automotive, they're down to earth people who do things right) and I find out my water pump and timing belt need to be repaired and that if I had waited any longer my entire engine might have needed to be replaced....Well I am just livid that All Tune and Lube didn't catch this before. If they had caught it before Vega's not only would they have had my money but I wouldn't be having to spend $500 right before the Christmas season. I'm never going back, obviously! It's a shame because I live only five minutes away from All Tune and Lube, but I'd rather drive 15 minutes and get a good service! read more

Dan is one of the nicest guys. He gives you fair estimates and is up front with you about what your vehicle needs. I had my engine light come on and took my car there. They couldn't find anything wrong so they checked everything out and didn't charge me a dime. Feels good to be able to trust a mechanic these days. I would highly recommend them. They have always been less than other estimates, completely honest and have even done some small jobs with minimal charge due to our loyalty. All Tune & Lube in Olathe has a lot of very good reviews on Google and such. I wasn't all that impressed, though. When I was there, it was hard to find a parking space with all of the cars in their lot. There were cars in the bays but the mechanics were standing around talking and none of them acknowledged me until I entered the office. The waiting area is small and has a lot of magazines, but I didn't see a restroom or any amenities to make yourself comfortable while you wait. Even the tv is set up behind the few seats so it's not like you can watch it. While the one employee that spoke to me seemed nice enough, there seemed to be a lack of customer service. After the work was done, I paid and left with not so much more than "Your total is...Thank you." It was almost like, Hello. It'll be an hour. The work is done. You owe this much. Have a good day." That's it. Even more odd to me is the receipt simply stated what was done. It wasn't itemized or anything. "Replaced front brakes" or "Installed wheels". No itemization of parts or break down of costs. Most places I go itemize labor, parts, fees such as disposal and such. Also, most mechanics I've been to will let me know if there is anything they happened to see that would need attention or would give a tip about maintaining whatever was just repaired. Not here...pay and go. Don't get me wrong, they got the job done and I suppose if you don't want an explanation or anything that's fine. I just expect a little more for my money. read more

I took a Honda in for its timing belt and water pump service, forgetting that I had done it 3 months earlier. Dan called me 30 minutes after I dropped it off to tell me it was done. "No way" I said. Dan and his staff are "the best" automotive repair shop in the area. I best thing about their operation is that you will get what's wrong with your vehicle, fixed and not be told that other things need fixing (zero upsell) Their honesty is refreshing and I recommend to all my friends and relatives. The only down side to the business is that because of his honesty and customer service, Dan is always full and it can be hard to get a slot. If you take your vehicle to anyone else, you will for sure pay too much and still probably not get your car fixed as it should be read more

We owned a '99 12 passenger van with 230,000 miles on it when we decided to sell it. As one would expect with heavy use, there were occasional issues with our van. Dan from All Tune and Lube has a tremendous amount of respect from us. Throughout 10 years with our van we had multiple issues and the mechanics were able to help us trouble-shoot, decide what needed to be done and we were back on the road ASAP! I was new to the Olathe area a year ago. A friend referred me to All Tune and Lube. I went there to get a third estmate for my car repair. They gave me an estimate that was hundreds of dollars cheaper than Toyota Dealership. They did the repair and my car workes perfectly. I had another car issue later and the Dealership said my ball joint needed replaced. I contacted All Tune and Lube for second opinion. It was a strut that was leaking and needed replaced, not the ball joint, and again my repair was reasonably priced. They are honest as the day is long! They might not have a lot of "bells and whistles" the fancy dealerships have. However, you know your car is repaired right, you weren't over charged in order for them to pay for a fancy waiting room, and they are honest!!! Very rare these days!!! We don't take our vehicles anywhere else, but All Tube and Lube. Thank you for the excellent customer service!!! read more
