I brought my car in for a diagnostic. My vehicle was intermittently losing power and leaving me stranded. I brought it into Celso's Honest auto repair and knew immediately I was in good hands. The gentlemen checked me and in and let me know they'd keep me updated. I received a call a few hours later saying they needed more time to diagnose. They kept my car overnight and called me the next afternoon with my diagnostic. They took the time yo explain the issue and the repairs needed. They made me feel like I was family. I really didn't want to lower my review, but unfortunately I had to. I recently brought my car in due to it pulling badly to the right and having a smell of burning paper(best I can describe it). Fairly certain it was a brake caliper that was stuck. It was discovered the car needed to be aligned, but unknown to me, and without my knowledge my car was brought to Tires plus(I never bring my cars there, because of too many bad experiences with them) for an alignment as the original complaint was thought just to be an alignment problem. While at Tires plus my catalytic converter, resonator and o2 sensors were stolen. Tires plus washed their hands clean of it(so if you need more reason not to take it to them there is another). While I was willing to to still allow Celsos to do work on my car(work they themselves do is pretty good), once I got through insurance and I ended up not getting any followi ups. As a result I took it else where and insurance had to pay everything so they forced cheap ass parts on the car. Now the car sounds like crap and honestly I hate it. I really would never have brought my car to tires plus and my only complaint with Celsos is that I wasn't informed that is where it would be brought to first. For any other work I'd still recommend them. But now I hate my car because it literally sounds like a piece of shit. And to top it off it still pulls badly to the right so the alignment wasn't even done right. Par for the course for Tires plus and the reason for the three star review is not having been informed the car would be brought there for said alignment ahead of time. read more

Very helpful, very courteous, very friendly. Sent them information on my stepson's car, and they had me bring it in the next day. Put it up on the rack, took a look at it and told us what was definitely wrong with it, what other things were a possibility they could find once they started working on it, and gave us quotes on each aspect of the repair. Offered my son a loaner car, which he really didn't need. Car was ready earlier than he said it would be. Only negative thing I think there was was he forgot to give us our 10% off for mentioning finding him on Yelp. Other than that, this was a great experience for my son and I. Unfortunate that I don't have the ability to give Celsos more stars. My truck had an issue with a door window, and as my previous mechanic had gone out of business, decided to try Celsos. I received an estimate in terms of cost and time to repair. Long story, short, it took longer to repair due to more damage than originally thought (due to an improper installation of a regulator by the previous mechanic, he instilled trust when he explained the issue. The repair HAD to exceed his original estimate since he needed more parts than originally anticipate, he stood by his original cost estimate. I could not be happier with his work and integrity. I was planning to take a trip in my new Honda From PA but as I was leaving, it broke down, and I couldn't get any help from my hometown mechanics. Frustrated and worried about losing my large registration fee for an event in Kansas City, I rolled the dice and took the run in my 2004 Subaru Forester 194,000 miles that was about 3,000 miles over its oil change, missing a stud in the wheel and down to the rotors with no brakes...(don't worry, I'm a trained professional) The entire way to Kansas, I stopped at auto repair shops and no one could help me. When I was in Illinois, I asked a local contact to recommend a trustworthy and talented mechanic...either legit or freelance......He did a few hours of research and came up with one name.......CELSO's HONEST AUTO REPAIR..... I was completely impressed as I have never seen this kind of service and dedication before. They worked on my 12 year old winter beater with almost 200,000 miles as though it was a mint classic 69 Mustang. Cars parked all over the place - looked like a repo auction. Decided to go to Christian Brothers and was waited on immediately. Jeep worked on and completed same day. I was in 11/14/2019 and was told that my car had a broken belt. I told them my car was overheating and my brother just replaced the water pump. 1 week later its was overheating again they found the belt off I asked if the heads were bad bc of the car overheating all the time before. I was lead to believe it was fixed and was quote $1300 for other repairs (brakes,wheel bearings etc) I was please until this week. Wed morning the car started overheating again. I called and he said to bring the car in I took the car in Thursday 12/20/19. He called me and asked me if I checked the fluids? (why would I check the coolant bc just little over a month ago you topped it off when replacing the belt) NO I said he said well you have a hose that has a slow leak in it. I said so its not heads ? he said then I never had told him that the car had overheated before just then. ( why would I call you in nov to ask you to look at my car and not tell you the reason why "my car is overheating" makes no sense.) Then said he could test the heads with a test but would cost $35 I said ok I wont do the other repairs of $1300 if I have blown heads. then sends me a text saying that the car failed the test. does that mean the heads are blown? or not? the fluid is blue when it turns green is bc it failed he says still in text I say so are they cracked? its possible they are cracked we wont know until they are out. I tel him then just replace the hose and how much? he says $229.71 so your charging me $35 for the test and $194.71 for putting a new hose on??? a hose that cost maybe $20 bucks????? I say never mind and what is the total... no answer on that till I came into the shop. he wanted to argue that I never once told him that the car was overheating til now. ( why would anyone call a shop and just want them to look at a car for no reason???) I said we both recall different things and how much that I owed him $40 then told me I was only going to give him back reviews bc im not happy and your right I am he stated I never told him that I have a receipt from the 1st time in and notes state " vehicle has been overheating a few times" a few times I never said but that is proof he is a "Liar" he claims no notes on last visit. I took my 1984 Mustang gt 5.0 to celos auto because it was dieing and stalling at a stop light. He treated my stang like it was his own. Know it being the an older vehicle I knew it would not be an easy fix. Especially this stang being the first Mustang with fuel injection and the Aod transmission. But he spent a few days with it and told me that it needs a new fuel tank . The old tank was full of rust the car only had 23000. Orginal miles on it. He could have called me and threw a bunch of parts at it and not got it fixed right. But he took the time to get to know the car and treated it like his own. My vehicles only go to celsos. read more
