He's going underwater and learning to float already. I'm here twice a week and see that everyone here works really well with the kids, my children and I all feel comfortable working with any of the amazing instructors :)

Coach Leo has been fantastic with our 3 year old son. We have seen so much progress in his abilities to swim. More importantly, to me, my son is so excited to go to swim lessons. Coach Leo is warm, encouraging, patient, and caring. He always wraps up the lesson with a summary of what was worked on and what is to come in the future. He is a wonderful addition to the Watersafe team. We will always be thankful for the invaluable lessons he's teaching our son. Can't say enough about how clean the facility is - staff is constantly keeping things clean and organized. Alex is the person we see most and he is just always so polite and attentive. Love the front staff who are present most of the time we go - Corina, Mikaila, Gaby, and Montana. You all give this place such a welcoming and family vibe.

Ian completed 2 weeks of training at Teddi Bear Swim School this past Friday…read more I was yelping for swimming lessons last year and Teddi Bear showed up. The ratings were high. I called Miss Teddi. She recommended that I go through the website and register for this summer only swimming classes that run till August 1st or 2nd week. She mentioned that it would take 1 to 2 weeks for kids to learn swimming. So, I had it bookmarked. I went through the motions in May, registered Ian for the week of June 25th with an option to continue the week of July 9th. About the school: Their website is well organized, the email correspondence, text correspondence and any other interactions with Teddi Bear staff (Instructors Christina, Alicia and Teddi) is very clear. Class is $150.00/week. Deposit of $75.00 is due prior to classes commencing. They accept e-payments. Due to the deposit, first week's balance of $75.00 is due on the Monday of the class week. Upcoming week's payment is due on Thursday if your kid is continuing on. About the setup: The pool where the swimming classes happen is in the backyard of a house. There is a yard sign in the front lawn. The big RV in the parkway is also cant miss. There is abundant street parking. You let yourself into the backyard, close the gate behind you, sign the waiver form at the table, pay your fee balance, take a seat and wait for your class slot to begin. There is a changing station in the backyard. There appears to be a bathroom inside the backyard garage. I opted for the 4-4:30 PM slot the first week as Ian also has Taekwondo at 6 PM couple of days a week. There were 6 kids per class. The first week it was Miss Christina and Miss Alicia doing all the training. Miss Teddi joined for a few minutes couple of times. The 2nd week it was Miss Christina and Miss Teddi doing most of the training. About the lessons: At any given time there are 2 instructors in the pool. After the initial 5 minute "warm up" instructors usually split up with each instructor surrounded by 3 kids. The first week was about getting familiar with water, balancing in the water and general use of legs, etc. The 2nd week was freestyle swimming, breathing, etc. Miss Christina is very vocal, encouraging kids with positive words of encouragement, holding the kids with utmost care, pointing out the aspects of swimming that are important, etc. There were kids who were crying Monday and Tuesday, but by Wednesday they were getting used to the swim lessons. The lessons being only 30 minutes long is helpful. Ian was out of breath couple of times. Instructors are definitely pacing the session keeping this in mind. All said and done Ian can swim freestyle after 10 days of swim classes. I am so proud of my son as he went from being afraid of being underwater to embracing the concept of swimming. I have to thank Teddi Bear Swim School as they were instrumental in making this transformation happen. I definitely recommend signing up your young kids to learn swimming here. You will not be disappointed.

Mrs. Teddi and her daughter are great. I like that they are nice, yet firm. Every lesson feels solid; no time wasted. They give individual feedback/reminders to each child to help them understand where they need to improve. I didn't feel like any child had more or less focus than the other. What really helped was going daily for 30 minutes so the kids can remember what they learned and is easier for them to get back to where they left off the day before. Six months seems like a good time to really attest to the quality of swim lessons my sister has with Isabella, her swim instructor. We went in hoping with all our might that my sister would be paired with a good instructor who has experience with individuals with special needs. At the beginning, I tried to find reviews on specific instructors and times that worked best, and ultimately, with sheer dumb luck, we chose Isabella. That decision has been a very fortunate luck of the draw for my sister to have Isabella for her instructor. We had very low expectations for my sister's goal in learning to swim. However, with Isabella's guidance, care, compassion, and immense patience, my sister's progress has exceeded our expectations. Isabella is a wonderful instructor who embodies warmth, positivity, and is firm even when she brings on new challenges for growth, which is perfect for my sister. With her compassion and kindness, Isabella has managed to make major progress with my sister to allow swimming goggles to be placed over her eyes. For nearly all her life, my sister has hated being submerged under water, goggles over her eyes, or anything over her face, but Isabella has been able to change that and help my sister grow in less than a year. Isabella is efficient and effective as a swim instructor. Isabella offers a safe and welcoming space for her students, including and especially those with special needs. Waterworks Aquatics is lucky to have such a great instructor as Isabella K., whose technical skills are just as wonderful as her care and empathetic nature to her students and the family she works with. She deserves to be recognized for her work, kindness, and patience. I do want to mention, this location is a heated pool facility, with a separate play look, is kept clean overall, and the bathrooms are decent in cleanliness. Parking also usually isn't an issue. My only complaint, and this is regarding the application/portal, is that often from my use, it has glitched where I can't always find the specific instructor. I've had to screen cap and send this over so the company can work with IT but it has happened a few times now. This is more of a technical critique and not related at all to the instructor nor facility.

The next day, before we came, i called again just to make sure there was somebody that can walk us around, the rep on the phone said just go there and the front desk staff will take you for a tour. We came, called again, the staff at this location said she could not take us for a tour as she will need to go for lunch at 12:00 by law. We said that we will come back at 2pm and she was ok that she will help us at that time. We came at 2pm, called back and the response is she cannot take me for a tour if it is no schedule. So we know that we should never come back here again

I asked her if it was a one on one ratio for student to instructor- it's not, it's a group (no problem to me) - I asked her how many student and she would not give me an answer. She said she doesnt know yet. Many kids going back to school etc.. I asked what the maximum amount of kids is per instructor. This is where I walked out - she said "why do I have to explain to you?" I said nope, we are done and left. She is rude and does care for children safety. If she did, she would have happily explained the details to me and ensured my child would be safe. This location in Garden Grove will be at the corner of Gilbert and Chapman. Of all the swimming schools I've called, British Swimming School was the most reasonable. Not just with their pricing, but also their locations and their schedules. The fact that the staff is just so kind is definitely an extra, added bonus.
