When she declined, they suddenly "found" the part and quoted $1,800, then took a deposit. A quick search showed the OEM part is widely available for around $150, and the job typically takes 1-2 hours. Charging $1,800 for that kind of work is hard to justify. To their credit, when I called and requested a refund of the deposit, they returned it without issue (hence the 2 stars). That said, the initial sales approach was misleading and predatory. For context, another company has since quoted $460 for the same repair.

Installation was flawless, but the price was exorbitant at $8300. $6-6500 would have been a fair price for a $3400 heater marked up 1.5X and a 6-8 hours of labor at more than $200/hr labor. Met with owner and he justified the price mostly due to "knowing his costs", generous salaries for his employees, enormous overhead, advertising and a "small profit margin" Lesson learned. When the technician goes into upsell mode and tells you they are offering a competitive price, don't believe them. Get three quotes. Also, they remove any negative reviews and want you to not post anything detrimental on social media.

Five minutes later, at 2:35AM, the owner called me. After reassuring me that everything was okay, that this happens and how to turn the system off until he could get there, he said "I'll come right now if you want, but I recommend you go back to sleep for a couple hours and I'll be over around 5am once I know my trucks are moving for the day. That way if we need any parts I don't have on hand, the shops will be closer to opening." The owner came over when he said he would. I apologized to him that I called so late and woke him, that I didn't think anyone would hear the office line until the morning. He looked at me funny - "How could I let one of my customers go through a cold night without me being there for them? I believe in 24/7 service." This wasn't an employee showing up or answering the phone, this was the owner forwarding the office number to his cell phone and leaving it on loud every night JUST IN CASE someone needs help. The owner and this company knows its trade - he confidently and quickly diagnosed the problem, fixed it, and let me know how I could prevent it in the future. When I bought my house, the previous owners made one recommendation - Willow Grove Oil came highly recommended to them from the previous home owner, and they loved everything about the company and its owner. I better understand why after this experience and I will never switch oil companies. Looking forward to one day recommending this man and his company to the next person who buys my house.

He scheduled the new install for Saturday and the guys were out at 8AM and worked until 5PM. They were pleasant and friendly. They didn't fool around and did a wonderful job. The price was good and after speaking with a relative it was fair. This company from the people who answer the phones to the service guys are top notch. ECI tech came out for routine service on AC unit. The AC was working just fine. He ended up…read moretaking the resistor out and connected a common wire to the hot wire and blew out my blower motor. I called another company to come and do the fix as now I did not trust ECI at all. The cost for the motor was $1019.20 and ECI is taking no responsibility at all. No compensation at all. Saying I should have used them to do the repair. Why would I let another tech from there come . I am just so disappointed in ECI and will never recommend them again.
