I have nothing but great things to say about Green Air and Shay, who came to my home and supervised what needed to be done. Less than two years ago, another contractor installed a whole new HVAC system. Changing the HVAC filters is always important for our health. It is especially important to me to regularly change the filters as I have allergies and also live in the City. Long story short, before Green Air and Shay came to the rescue, changing the filter turned out to have been impossible for me with my new system. The air filter of the new HVAC before Green Air came was accessed by taking off two parts adding up to the whole front, so all of the circuitry was exposed. Not good. Furthermore, after my first attempt at changing the filter (before I learned about the problem) the front pieces turned out to be close to impossible to return to their original positions. The original contractor told me this was deliberate so that the contractor each time would have to come out rather than the homeowner changing the air filter! More problematic, the contractor said the filters was to be done only twice a year which I know is wrong. As if matters couldn't be made worse, the contractor kept (courteously but insistently) putting me off so, over 18 months post installation, no new filter. The last time I tried to call, I could not find the business. Maybe out of business. And they were hardly the cheapest installers. Recommended by a general contractor. Enter Shay and Green Air who solved *all* of the problems. He moved the air filter slot to outside (alongside) the unit so now all I have to do is slide the old out and the new in. The front panels of the HVAC stay where they belong. He had his people move my water heater so there was room for access to this slot. Further improvement, a person no longer had to be a circus contortionist to reach the filter in its prior cramped location. He also serviced my system. All throughout, Shay was polite, responsive, friendly, absolutely prompt, and caring and considerate of my cost. I thought his price very reasonable. Especially his ongoing regular servicing plans. His employees did the job in a trustworthy way and left my utility closet and the room outside it totally clean. What a pleasure and relief! I surely plan to employ him in the future for any HVAC service. read more

First, let's start with the initial contact with Green Air Heating & Cooling. I contacted the Company through Yelp late in the afternoon on a Monday. Within an hour, Yanni called me and asked a few detailed questions about the issues I was having. He then asked when I would be home and when we could get started on the problem. I told him that unfortunately i wouldn't be home till late, but the next day I would be able to leave the office early. He accommodated based on my schedule which was a huge help. As promised, Yanni gave me a call that he was headed towards my area and asked if now was a good time. There was no, "oh, we'll get to you between this four hour window", Yanni was prompt and told you exactly when he would be there. This was helpful as neither of us were wasting any of our day. Once Yanni arrived, he was friendly and immediately dove into the issue. As Yanni was working, he explained to me the various things he was seeing and even made some recommendations to keep the system in check throughout the coming months (monitoring/changing the filters). Finally, Yanni found the root of the problem and was able to get the system up and running in a pretty short period of time. Being it's the summer time, and not having AC, this was very important. I then mentioned to Yanni how I recently purchased a Nest and was going to hook it up "eventually", but since I had him here I asked whether he could hook that up as well. Yanni was more than willing and was able to get the Nest system up and running within a few minutes. Little did I know, the Nest needed some additional wiring that I did not currently have. Yanni added the additionally wiring and my new system was firing at all cylinders. As I said throughout, Yanni was friendly, informative, professional and was all about his craft. He took the time to explain what he was doing, and why things were or were not working. As someone who doesn't understand HVAC, that was nice. I would recommend Yanni for any HVAC needs. My tenants reported a bad odor coming from the heating system in November 2017. I called another company to come check out the issue. They supposedly cleaned my system entirely including the heat kit/element but the issue continued. They came again and told me I needed the ducts cleaned. I agreed to the service. That also didn't solve the issue. They came twice more and found the issue on the fourth try. It was a dead opossum on the heat kit/element. They said they could not clean the animal off and needed to replace the part. They left the animal in the unit and agreed to order the new part after the holiday weekend. On January 2nd they had not ordered the part so I called Green Air as a blizzard and frigid temperatures were forecast and my tenants were without heat. Yaniv checked my warranty and the part and said he was able to do the job. After some back and forth with the other company and their inability to do the job right away, I decided to let Green Air do it so my tenants wouldn't have to face another night in a blizzard with no heat. He came, replaced the kit, removed the animal left by the other company right away. YanIv has been very responsive, keeps his appointments and follows up as promised. We have since had complications with my unit and he has explained them to me in terms I can understand and sends people right away to address them. You will see other reviews using the pictures of the dead opossum from my unit, but I assure you the review is not true of this company. Yaniv removed the animal and replaced the kit as requested. I will update this review again after all my complications have been resolved but as of right now I'm satisfied with the service I've received from Green Air and would use them again in the future. read more

HOT as Hades?!....There is nothing like leaving for a trip, renting your house to someone to pay for that trip, and having the central air fail 2 days before, and on a weekend! I called my previous guy: passed away. 2nd company: "sure, we'll be there at 3:30 Saturday."... at 3:00, "sorry, we actually don't do residential." 3rd company: "of course, we'll be there Sunday or Monday morning, no problem."...no show, no call, no text. 4th/5th/6th company, no answer and "voicemail box is full."...left messages with 3 more companies, no call backs. WTF, am starting to feel panicked. And am also upset that in over 4 years I have spent $4000 fixing this damn AC and it still blows (no pun intended). It's now Monday and yay, Shai answers! He promised he will be by today, could be late, but he promises. I worry that he may not have a part I need and tell him to buy whichever parts for my unit and I shall reimburse whether we use it or not, he say, "no worries, I have lots of parts on my truck". He was so relaxed and pleasant over the phone that I wonder if he will actually show up. By 3:30 pm, he is at my door!!! He spends hours on my unit, the whole time pleasant, tidy, and explains everything very well. He checks over the whole unit and is able to fix a problem that 2 other HVAC people over the past years have not been able to figure out. He was even able to figure out that I had previously had a really nice thermostat that was replaced with an inferior one. Hours later, it is fixed and running well and he has charged me so little that I feel guilty!!! From now on, am only using Shai! ...if you think you'll get better service elsewhere, well it's probably not in Philly! read more

We are in a 3-story semi-detached home in Fairmount, the upstairs zone of our two-zone A/C system was not cooling at all, and we had company coming for the weekend. On Wednesday afternoon, I called Green Air and spoke to Yanni. He said he was finishing up a service call nearby, and he could come right over to see what the problem was, squeezing us in before his next scheduled appointment at 3:30. He came over, checked out the rooftop condenser unit (a very scary maneuver, as access to the roof is via climbing out a 2d floor window onto the small roof of a bay window below, and climbing a ladder up to the 3d floor roof), and determined that the problem was simply an exceedingly dirty filter which we had forgotten to change. We had clean filters, so he installed the new one. And he wouldn't even let me pay him for the service call! He said, "I can't charge you for changing a filter." Green Air Heating and Cooling is the only HVAC company I will use from now on! Someone who has used them several times recommended Yanni. Someone told me my ac unit was broken and needed to be replaced. I called several people to get a second opinion and they were charging from $95-175 just to check it out. Yanni doesn't charge to come out, he told me my unit was not broken but was very old and that's why it wasn't working as well as it used to, the filters were dirty and needed to be replaced, and new filters would make it work better. He said I may need a new unit next summer but new filters would get me through this summer. He is also so kind and nice!!! I tried to give him money for gas and tolls and the time he took explaining everything since he came to NJ from PA but he wouldn't take a penny from me because he said "he didn't do anything for me." Yanni saved me a ton of money. I recently bought a home and since it was a little older, negotiated a home warranty for heating and cooling. When winter came around and the heat did not work, I called the warranty company to send someone out. The warranty company sent out their technician who misdiagnosed the problem, and quoted me over $1,000 to fix it (they said the component in question was not covered). From my first call to the technician arriving, there was a 2 week turn around. I called Yanni for a second opinion. Yanni came over the next day, correctly found the problem, charged me LESS THAN HALF of the warranty company's quote, and came back the next day with the appropriate part to fix it. I had used Yanni before to fix my air conditioning after inspection turned up an issue, and was very happy with his service. My experience with working on my heat puts him in 6 out of 5 star territory. He is professional, knowledgeable and prompt. I highly recommend him. read more

I live in a near 100 year old home in south Philly. I believe the boiler I have was installed shortly after the build. My pump on the unit broke down. I called a plumber I had used previously and they wouldn't touch it. I called Green Air for a second opinion. They came the next day and not only replaced the pump but repaired a small leak in a job the first plumber had done a few years before. Come to find out, my boiler is still operating efficiently for its age and is in no immediate need of being replaced. Contrary to the initial evaluation given by the first company. Yani was fantastic. Knowledgable, friendly and professional. Final cost was 10 times, yes "10 times" less than I would have been gouged by the other company. They threw in a new updated thermostat to boot. They are now on speed dial as my already aged home becomes older. Honest, professional, and reliable. A one!!!! read more

We realized right when the temperatures started to go up that our air conditioning wasn't working. Unfortunately, that's when everyone realizes it so after reaching out to several companies we were afraid we would be waiting at least a week to get our unit fixed. We used the estimate feature on yelp to contact Green Air Heating and Cooling and within an hour Shay, the owner, contacted us to set up a time on Sunday (we contacted him on Friday). He also said they they were working on houses near ours and it turned out that Yanni was able to come Friday evening! He was quick and the price was great ($250- not exactly sure what was fixed, we didn't really care what part needed to be replaced, so long as it was replaced but I'm sure if we would have asked Yanni could have told us) AND we got air conditioning the same day that we contacted them! This is my first Yelp review, but I feel obligated to write one because of the amazingly positive experience my fiancee and I had with Yanni today! We had tried to install our Nest on our own, but the result was that our HVAC stopped working. After calling a bunch of companies, all of which were fully booked on this very, very cold day, Yanni called back and offered to Face Time with us so we could trouble shoot the problem and save money. He spent a good amount of time helping us out, and ultimately gave us correct instructions to solve the problem, all without asking for any money in return! I was referred to Green Air by a friend this past summer for service to my air conditioner, and have just had them back for service for my heater. Both experiences were excellent in every way. Our technician, Shay, was easily accessible for setting up appointments and readily available. He's super sweet - very friendly, neat, and professional, and explained everything he was doing and why. And not in that way where you feel like the guy is being confusing and making it up to charge you lots of money and make you buy parts that don't need replacing - this guy makes you totally comfortable, and is happy to show you, or explain anything you're interested in knowing. As I have told everyone I know, my dealings with Yanni and Green Air have been, quite possibly, the absolute best I have ever experienced with a contractor. I had issues with my boiler kicking off during this frigid winter. Yanni came over to check it out. Turns out the problem was relatively easy to fix--which I had NO clue. Not only was Yanni nice he didn't make any attempt to pad the bill. In fact, the opposite. He explained the problem to me, how to fix it, made sure I knew how to do it and then he left without charging me anything! As he left he said 'knowledge is free' I cannot tell you how amazing I thought this was. I reached out to Green Air to have a heating and cooling unit installed right in the middle of the heat wave, Yanni came out for assessment and informed me that it would only take four days to install the new cooling unit and covert the oil heating unit over to gas and install the new heating unit, I couldn't believe it. Green Air was very kind, professional, fast, neat and clean. The new heating and cooling units were literally installed in four days it blew my mind they were so fast and it was done right with no complaints, I was very impressed. We need more businesses and contractors like this to bring back the trust we had with contractors. I'm happy and pleased with Green Air and would recommend them. Green Air Climate Control out of Quakertown PA helped us out in our time of need, service was same day, final installation was in line with the estimate; Dominick was fabulous in resolving our "other HVAC vendor" code violation that prevented my solar project from finishing and going on the grid. He moved our AC Condenser the proper distance from the PECO power panel at a fraction of the cost 2 other 'gouging" HVAC vendors had quoted. My husband and I hired Green Air to replace our outdoor AC/Heat unit a couple years ago and Yanni was very responsive to our initial questions, he gave us different unit options and his honest reviews on each unit, and he was able to have his team out to replace our unit very quickly. Very reasonably priced - most places were $1k-$2k more for lesser quality units and longer wait times. We were very pleased with the service and pricing so we hired them about year later to replace our hot water heater that died and they did not disappoint - also super quick and reasonably priced. My air/heating panel was completely blank and with the forecast reaching high 90s, hazy, hot and humid, I panicked. I took a chance and called Green Air Heating & Cooling. Yanni informed me he would be at my house that day. He came out and instantly diagnosed the problem, which to my shame, was I needed to change the batteries on the panel. I needed a new heater, and central air to be set up as I had wall units. I priced 6 different HVAC companies in the greater philadelphia area, and not only did Green Air provide the most reasonable pricing, but they didn't try to up sell me and tack on unnecessary additional work as the others did. They completed the job in a day and a half, were completely professional, clean and efficient. Specifically Shay, who was very helpful in getting the rebate for the heating system from PGW as well as coming back on a hot day to ensure that my central air was balanced.
