On August 20th of 2019 my wife had an appointment with our attending physician Alla Boykoff. I was with her. During examination, my wife mentioned that my husband's heart hurts from the back. The doctor immediately examined me, made a cardiogram and said that it was urgent to do a blood test. The laboratory was nearby and the doctor urgently received the result and informed me that I urgently need to call an ambulance for heart matters and go to the hospital where a team of surgeons is already waiting for me and Dr. Krishan Soni The operation went very quickly. They installed a heart stand and saved my life. It took a long time (3 years) I feel fine. I am very grateful to two doctors. Please note them both. 20 minutes late to our video appointment and offered no acknowledgement, much less an apology, for this. had an awful internet connection and so we called her on the phone. This was all after we made an appointment a month ago for an in person visit. We were contacted yesterday (1 day before the appointment) and were told it would be online. Were promised multiple call backs but we had to chase down her assistant to confirm if the doctor would be able to provide referrals for blood tests and other basic services for my 61 year old mother. Were assured that she would. After being terrible communication, being late and having an unprofessionally poor connection, she became outright disrespectful, e.g. "have you ever been to a doctor's office in this country before?" and "your mother bought some insurance and thinks it covers everything?" She ended the conversation with "I don't even have time for this conversation, much less to make any referrals for you." I had to confirm, "Are you saying you are able but unwilling to make these referrals?" She proudly said, "Yes!" I haven't had a worse experience whether at the doctor's office, shoe store, or the DMV. read more

I got suddenly sick and I didn't have a primary care physician. I found the list of providers that accepted my insurance and narrowed that list down by the yelp reviews. I thought I was hoping for a miracle that I wanted a same day appointment but I got it from Dr. Boykoff's office! Even though I was a new patient I only had to fill a half page of information and I was in soon after that. Dr. Boykoff seemed warm and knowledgeable; she listened to my concerns and answered my questions and wished me well at the end. I'm very happy with my visit :) read more

Initially - a very pleasant experience. I had a medical problem that could not be treated and Alla Boykoff listened to me. She was very understanding. However, an issue with billing came up several month later, and I was left a phone message by Alla Boykoff saying that I have been dishonest about paying her. I don't understand how - I paid all her bills. I am still confused . When I tried to call Dr.Boykoff and talk to her about it, she was not available. This remains unresolved until this day, and when I requested my medical records, I received a letter back telling me that I was never a patient at Alla Boykoff's office. This is my personal experience, and is not intended to insult or defame the office of this doctor in any way. I am only describing what I went through. read more

When I first entered the room I told Dr. Boykoff that I was having a panic attack. I started to cry and become short of breath. After she be-littled me for having a panic attack she laughed under her breath at how depressed I was. After she laughed at my depression I started to cry and become even more panicked. I asked her to please stop treating my illness like a joke. After I did that she started yelling at me, cutting me off and was calling me "irrational". I was only visiting that day to refill my birth control and tapper off my antidepressant. I just moved to California and she mockingly told me "If I had my doctor all figured out in Illinois then why would I have moved to California". She kept mocking me and several times during the visit I asked her to keep her voice down and stop yelling at me. My boyfriend (another witness to all of this abuse) was also trying to calm her down and ask her to stop being hostile and listen to ME. Dr. Boykoff then told me she wasnt going to direct her attention to me anymore because I was "crying". She then stopped treating me like a human and directed all her attention to my boyfriend and she called him the "rational one". I was completely rational, I was just reacting to the way I was being treated. After the visit was done I called back to ask for a number to complain, she then got on the phone, started screaming at me, cutting me off and said that she was going to "report me to my insurance". She then hung up on me. This has given me PTSD and I demand action be taken on her and her practice. She can't get away with treating her patients so rude. Screaming at them, cutting them off and then silencing them in mid doctor visit because I was "crying" completely unacceptable. I will add that I was calm the whole time, I was visibly nervous. I only asked her to lower her voice when she was screaming at me. As I mentioned before there was another witness to this encounter. My significant other tried serval times to calm the doctor down enough to where she wouldn't cut us off and stop yelling. read more

This doctor was initially very kind and agreed to take me on as a patient even though I was homebound. It worked out for her because of the geographical location of my house. At that time I was stable and didn't anticipate to get worse but I did. When I got worse and got into a hospital. Not only was I treated badly at the hospital but Dr. Boykoff decided to drop me - and I mean drop me like a hot potato - not to be affiliated with me in any way. She said - "I am not a social worker" and refused her services at the time I needed her the most. Make your own conclusions. read more

I know DR. Boykoff since 2000. My Mom of 97 became her patient first. Now all 3 of us are her patients, and we are happy to have her as our family doctor. She is always attentive, polite, ready to listen and to help. We couldn't get a better doctor !!! I recommend her to everybody !!!! read more

Dr. Boykoff is an excellent physician. It is hard to find a good primary these days but Dr. Boykoff goes above and beyond! I didn't have any issues having her order a blood panel yet faced resistance when I was at Kaiser and have been told this isn't necessary, etc. From the best referrals to a simple flu shot she is compassionate, knowledgeable, receptive, and caring. read more

The doctor is great, but her office staff is so unbelievably rude you'll really wonder exactly how they manage to keep patients at all. I had a 104 degree fever for 3-4 days with all the regular flu symptoms. I called to get a prescription and her office insisted I see the doc. I told them "if you felt as sick and weak as I do, you wouldn't really want to take 4 buses to get to Dr. Boykoffs office." The stupid receptionist said "That's not my problem, that's yours." I was stunned beyond belief, not because I had to go in, but because someone in customer service actually talked to a patient like that. Every time I see doctor Boykoff, I have to deal with her rude ass office staff. This is the last time! She has definitely lost me as a patient. read more

I actually really like Dr Boykoff, but her administrative staff has soured my whole experience with her as my PCP. The women who answer the phones 1) hardly ever actually answer the phones, 2) don't call you back for days or sometimes ever when you leave a message, and 3) are rude and unhelpful when you do speak with them. Again, Dr. Boykoff herself is great, but it is not worth it to have her as a doctor with such terrible hassle to get an appointment, medical records, or just about anything involving her administrative staff. read more

I became a new patient of Dr. Boykoff's in January. I tried to schedule a first appointment with her at the beginning of February. She informed me that she was too busy, but could call in my needed prescription without seeing me. Ok, sounds great. In March, I contact her offices again to schedule a first appointment, and to get a referral for an orthopedic (I have early onslaught arthritis in both my knees). My knees (which have gotten much worse over the past week) were in such pain that I told the office I needed that referral asap, but am more than willing to have a first appointment with Dr. Boykoff. Her assistant (?Tamila?) told me that Dr. Boykoff could not see me before mid-April and could not provide me with an orthopedic reference. I told her that I was moving (50 miles south) in less than 3 weeks, this referral was very important and I would come at nearly any hour of the day to help facilitate our meeting. Her assistant told me no and then hung up on me! Now, the office won't even answer my calls and have no interest in helping one of their patients. I will find another doctor, but not without telling all of you - DON'T GO TO DR. BOYKOFF. Her offices are not interested in new patients and will offer no help when emergencies happen. read more

Her office is very accesable to me since I ride public transportation and she even took that in consideration during the visit when recommending me to a dermatologist and gave me bus routes on how to get there! I've seen Dr. Boykoff on a number of occasions over the years and have nothing but good things to say. She is patient and very thorough in her examination and diagnosis. Visiting her office is a much more personable and enjoyable experience than being cattle-herded through the line at a large hospital. I rarely write reviews, but I had to put in my two cents because Dr. Boykoff is the BEST! I've never had a doctor that is so genuinely interested in what I have to say and cares about my overall well-being. Before each appointment she talks to me about my general health- Do I have a good dentist? When is the last time I had my womanly exam? She takes her time with me and I never, ever feel like she's in a rush to get out of the room. She even called me herself after she had referred me to a specialist, just to check up on me to see if I was ok because she was concerned. Unheard of. It can really be a struggle to find a doctor you trust, which is why Dr. Boykoff is such a gem. I have recommended her to several of my friends and would recommend her to anyone. read more

I became a patient of Dr. Boykoffs last year and found her to be a really good doctor. She had excellent bedside manner and spent the time to talk to me and understand my medical problem. This is typical of Doctors who were originally trained in Europe where the patient always comes first. She even called me on my cell phone a few days later to check up on me! That was amazing. Great primary care physician. Dr. Boykoff is wonderful, very patient and very kind. I would highly recommend her.

We called earlier in the day and I took my mom later on the same day to see Dr. Boykoff, they were very accommodating to try and get us in on the same day. Even though the appointment was very late in the day 4:45 pm, she was very patient and professional and listened carefully and provided a good diagnosis. She was sincerely compassionate, which was very strange as this was the first time where I felt as if though the doctor really cared. At the end of the visit she charged us less than what her administrative stuff told us when we scheduled the visit (we paid cash) ... She knew what price we were supposed to pay, but she purposefully chose to charge us less ... first time i ever had this happen. The amount we paid was a fraction of what other Dr. offices asked for the initial visit. In the end she ended up giving my mom worth of medications which when added together were more expensive than what we paid for the visit. I can only assume that she likely gets the meds at a discount or something, but regardless, no other Dr has ever given me anything for free. I would highly recommend Dr. Boykoff - she is a great Dr and more importantly a really good human being. read more

My mother chose her for her doctor, but she is the rudest doctor ever possible. My mom had a cold, and went to see her for the first time. Right away the doctor said, "oh no no, you have to wear a mask right now. I don't want to get a cold from you." and refused to speak to her until she wore one. Aren't doctors expected to deal with patients who have the common cold? The receptionist was also really rude and mean. The whole office is full of Russians, and they barely speak English, and only cater to their Russian patients first. I tried calling her for a query later, since Mom's sleep doctor required her primary physician to contact him directly. She refused to call my mom's sleep doctor! Was very rude, and said this is not an urgent matter, and I won't help you out. My mom tried calling her again the next day to talk to her personally, and the doctor replied with "Don't ever call this number again." How rude is that! I think and wish her license would be revoked. She does not know how to speak to patients. read more

I needed a doctor also quickly and called different ones in my insurance list. Dr. Boykoff was the only one that was quickly available. I was glad to become her patient after the first visit as she spent a lot of time explaining all the services available to me. She did not rush me through the motions at all.
