I went in to see Dr. Reid because of some hives and my usual doctor was booked out far in advance. When I explained my situation to the front office staff they assured me Dr. Reid could assist in the matter. I had already seen my dermatologist, who has my trust and respect, and we agreed on the root cause of it. My dermatologist suggested seeing an allergist to see if there was anything further they could do. When I explained the root cause to Dr.Reid that once again, both my dermatologist and I agreed on based on the derm's other patients and my personal health history, Dr. Reid said "oh that's bullshit." Throughout our 45 minutes together he kept bringing it up as "bullshit" a total of 5 times. Not only are they unprofessional and disrespectful, but what's more worrisome is their completely dismissive attitude; for a doctor to not even consider possible root causes with data to back it up, is extreme cause for concern. They continued to speak poorly of my other medical doctors without even knowing them. Touting that "my primary and dermatologist should have been able to control my hives." But after doing what Dr. Reid prescribed for an entire week, I am still in no better shape. Lastly, he is a poor communicator: 1.) I didn't feel heard because I would explain in great detail "what happened" and he would immediately ask "okay so what happened?" and when I would ask him to clarify what further information he required, he would get irked at me. I've never had so much apprehension come from a doctor. 2.) He often interrupted me. He asked for my history of hives and when I would say "back in 2015 I tried this facewash and it gave me hives.." he would interrupt me to say "you can't call it hives because you don't know what it was." It was completely unnecessary and the third time he tried to interrupt me when explaining my history I finally said "OR whatever you want to call it." My medical team at the time diagnosed it as hives and it was treated as such, so constantly "correcting" me isn't fruitful. Needless to say, it was an utter complete waste of 2 hours and $40. I will never return.

Finally Free From Allergy Meds After 30 Years -- Exceptional Care at SH Medical Allergy…read more At 60 years old, I've seen a lot of medical practices over the years, including some of the best, such as Stanford and the Cleveland Clinic. SH Medical Allergy is truly one of the best medical practices I've ever experienced. I actually chose this practice over UCSF, where I often receive care, because SH Medical offers accelerated allergy shots so patients can reach the benefits faster. For me, that approach has worked remarkably well. I had been taking allergy medications intensely since about 1995, including antihistamines and nasal steroids. Now, for the first time in decades, I'm able to get by without either--and I'm no longer dealing with sinus infections. It honestly feels like a huge liberation. Dr. Gupta is exceptionally warm and attentive to detail. She helped me recognize that I likely had an underlying sinus issue and referred me to a specialist, which I greatly appreciated. She was also incredibly compassionate and accommodating when she learned about the sudden death of my partner of 16 years. Her office staff is outstanding. During a penicillin challenge, two of her newer medical assistants, Rishabh Agarwal and Shivaang Vyas, were incredibly comforting and kept me company throughout the process. They patiently answered all of my questions, were very gentle when administering the shots, and even explained how they count breaths--something I was curious about for my own research and teaching. The Castro office itself is delightful. The staff decorate for every holiday, which makes the office feel warm and welcoming. It honestly makes me feel like I'm back in elementary school in the best possible way. Jessica and Rachel deserve special mention as well--they do a wonderful job decorating and also act as warm hosts of the office. The entire environment feels thoughtful, friendly, and genuinely caring. I would recommend SH Medical Allergy without hesitation to anyone looking for thoughtful, attentive allergy care in San Francisco.

1.5 years of OIT -- and it changed our daughter's life…read more Our journey with Latitude started when we discovered our daughter Riley had an egg allergy. After a failed egg muffin challenge and a difficult set of test results, we were scared and didn't know what to do next. That's when Tina and Michelle stepped in -- they introduced us to oral immunotherapy (OIT), walked us through exactly how the process works, and made us feel like this was actually possible. Committing to OIT for a year and a half is no small thing. Appointments every two weeks, plus remembering to give Riley her daily dose every single day -- it's a lot to keep up with on top of everything else life throws at you. But the team at the Van Ness location made every visit feel supported. Dr. Dhami was exceptional throughout -- knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely invested in Riley's progress. The nurses -- Grace, Bella, and Kellen -- were consistently kind and encouraging. We truly couldn't have done this without them. It was an exhausting journey, but it was worth every appointment and every daily dose. After graduating from the program, the difference is night and day. We went from reading every single ingredient label in fear to simply feeding Riley without anxiety. Instead of being afraid of hidden egg in everything, we can now help her maintain her tolerance and eat freely. That freedom is something we didn't think was possible two years ago. If your child has a food allergy and you're wondering whether OIT is worth it -- the answer is yes, and Latitude is the place to do it. Thank you to the entire team for your guidance, patience, and care. You changed our family's life.
