They accept CRV only. I wish they would've told me over the phone before I made the long drive. They don't accept soup cans, empty spray cans, plastic non-CRV bottles (protein shakes, etc.). Other places do take these all, and pay for them. And while I was at the cashier to get my CRV money, I asked the person behind the window if they know of a nearby place that takes non-CRV. They simply ignored me and walked away from the window. I asked twice. read more

Wanted to check out other recycling centers as a comparison to the one I typically go to. With that being said, I'm glad I found this place. Even though this location is a little further than my usual recycling center, I prefer to recycle here. Why? 1) I feel like I get more bucks for my bottles/cans/glass. 2) it's simple, easy, and quick. Al the workers there are very effecient. 3) you can leave your caps on your bottles/glass 4) you get your receipt right there and get your money in the next building (portable), which is 10 steps away. 5) I've seen people recycle more things than just bottles, glass, and cans... like screen sliding doors, metal, etc. 6) They have gloves and hand sanitizers.. if needed Somethings to know: 1) like the other review, it's dirty because it's basically like a garbage dump area. 2) There can be a line.. a lot of people seem to come here 3) It's kind of like a self service deal: you get the trash cans, separate and dump all your recycle goods, wait in line, and give your trash cans to the employees. read more

I don't know how much detail you can give about recylcing - so this will be short and sweet. - I came to drop off some cardboard boxes that filled our garage! - I arrived a little after 7am during the week so there were no lines - After waiting for about 5 minutes, someone came to drop off a bin - I received no help, which was unexpected based on the other reviews here - so that was a bit of a shock - I dumped all my stuff into the bin and the guy gave me a receipt I gave the receipt to the cashier and received my cash value. FYI - They pay $.05/lb for cardboard. Considering the service and that there are other locations closer to me - I'll probably opt to go somewhere closer next time.. read more

This is a place to Recycle all your Bottles and Glass !! They also accept Newspapers and old electronics also scrap metal !! But it has lots of flys flying around with bumble bees buzzing all over the place . There is not wait for cans to put you plastic or glass bottles in !! They give a allright price for your Recycle stuff !! It is located on Miramar Rd on the left side of the Train Tracks !! Overall it gets only 3 Stars because of Flys !!! read more

So I gather up all the recycling pack in my car to be at the center before 4:30. Passing all the east bound traffic hoping and praying that I make the 4:30 cut. I arrive 8 minutes early and the gate is being closed and say why are you closing as it's 4:20+, but certainly not 4:30. Pissed as now it's cost me 30 mins loading and driving and with zero resolve or satisfaction. read more

Three stars cuz the guys were helpful, it wasn't packed, and the process was fast. BUT you'd be better off going to replanet or somewhere else that will give you actual money for your recyclables because I got jyped. $31 for two cars full of bags? That's ridiculous. The place advertises recycling center they buy copper and I drive all the way out here to find out that I have to go to a different center to recycle the copper because they said they don't have room to store it here and that they don't pay as much as the other place which is also an Allan Company read more

Just dropped by this place on a Wednesday, 12/19/19 at 10:20 AM and they said they are already closed. Online hours says it is open until 4:30 PM. Unfortunately, they changed their hours and NEVER updated it online so it is very INCONVENIENT! There were few other people who were trying to come. It's disappointing that the new hours is way off from the old one. I get it, if it's an hour difference, but being open only fron 7AM-9AM on Mondays and Tuesdays and from 7-10AM is a big difference. Who in the world has the time to come here between those times especially on a weekday???? Hours online needs to be UPDATED soon! read more

DO NOT GO HERE FOR RECYCLING. I came here the first time I started recycling and I was an idiot for telling the guy working there that it was my first time. SUCH A MISTAKE! He immediately started throwing out a lot of my bottles because they were not CA CRV (which they all were), then after having 3 trash cans full of glass/plastic bottles and cardboard, I only got 75 cents! They are very dishonest. I am never going back there again. read more

Not much you can say about a recycling center. They provide trash bins for you to put your recyclables in. You separate your cans, bottles, glass in the bins, take them to the guy who weighs them in, when he's finish you type in your name into his computer, he prints you out a receipt, you take it over to the cashier window (which is super tinted) put the receipt and your driver's license in the sliding drawer, a few minutes later they slide it back out for you to provide your signature on the receipt. Another couple minutes the drawer slides out again with the money earned from recycling. Now doesn't it feel good to recycle and do your part to help the planet. Yes it does! read more

Allan Company's 2 recycling centers that I am familiar with are located in Miramar and off the 52 freeway on Convoy st. They are, if you will, two entirely different animals. This is regarding the Miramar facility. Anyway, the employees who manage the weigh station and do the physical work outside are four and a half star quality employees. Isaiahs, Hector and Omar are very friendly and helpful. If they had just a little more zip in their step when addressing your effects, then they would most certainly be a full 5 stars. Once you have made your contribution to the environment and have received the payment voucher/receipt from the outside crew, prepare yourself for a lengthy wait at the office's bulletproof, bomb-shelter-like window. The construction of the office's interface and the overall experience you will endure is very similar to that of a gas station at nighttime, whose operation inside must remain entirely secret. Why? Because the receptionist there is seated behind thick, reinforced dark tinted glass is virtually incommunicado. One female patron had described the experience at the window as "...feeling like a criminal" due to the excessive security measures featured at the office's window. However, once you speak to the employees whom exit the office fort, you will find that they are very amiable. Try to check this place out if you ...'can'. (ah ha ha!) read more

I bring my cans and plastic bottles here no problems it is close and convenient for me. The cashier you can't see hiding in a building paying you through a drawer is a bit odd and impersonal to me. And while I have no problem bringing my bottles and cans here I don't recommend bringing Metal scrap here, for what they want to pay you it is not worth your time/gas etc read more

When I use a scrap company, I go with a large amount of scrap (Usually upwards of 700 lbs.) I don't bottles or glass, I take scrap aluminum, copper, stainless steel, and brass. My scrap piles (which I obtain over time) typically get me on average $.75 per pound. I am well aware that the scrap yards purchase your metals, and in turn sell them to make a hefty profit. I am fine with this fact, but what gets me is I despise being told that my metal is something that it is not...I went in today with at least 300 pounds of aluminum, 75 pounds of copper, and 75 pounds of steel. The majority of the aluminum I had was in 5 unpainted 50 pound specialty cabinets. These cabinets had approximately 2 ounces of un-removable brass and copper in them. I was told that the metal was contaminated and would receive $.04 a pound!!!! Are you kidding me??? Each one of these blocks can resale for Allan Company for well over $150 dollars. And they were going to give me $2 for each one. Other scrap companies that I've used in the past love when I pull my truck up, cause they know that I'm willing to sell for less than what I have. However, when I'm told that I have contaminated metals, and you'd pay more money for aluminum cans than my block aluminum, you can see why I might get upset. So, to sum things up, this is what occurred: 1. I loaded my truck with all my costly scrap metal 2. I drove it down to Miramar 3. I spent 30 minutes unloading and sorting block aluminum into the small trash bins that they have, putting roughly 100 pounds of aluminum into each. I also put 100 pounds of steel into a bucket, and 50 pounds of copper was on my cart. 4. I load 4 bins and my heavy duty industrial cart with all this scrap and go wait in line for 10 minutes. 5. I tell the guy what the first trash bin is, and he tells me the aluminum (100 lbs) is contaminated (with roughly .001% non-removable copper and brass fasteners.) 6. They push that cart back to me. I told them, "Fine, ring up the rest of my metals and I'll come back with this bucket." They tell me the second bucket is fine, and the third is fine. Than, they come to my 50 lb blocks of aluminum and I can tell that they don't see this kind of thing very often. We engage in a conversation about what item this scrap metal is from, and they are very curious about them. They know the blocks are worth 150 dollars each, I expect to get $1.20 roughly per pound. I'm told they're contaminated as well as my first bin, and I will receive $.04 per pound. I told him to give me my sh*t back. He says, "All of it?" "Yeah I suppose I'll take it all back." 7. I spend another 30 minutes reloading my truck. 8. I have to wait 10 minutes because parking is so cramped in their parking lot. Finally, I leave. In my business, as well as probably your business, time is money. Thank you Allan Company for costing me significant money today just to drive down their and deal with your criminal business. I won't be back, and you have lost business from me as well as the others I will recommend stay away from you. I wish that I had a hidden camera, I'd post it on here, because anyone with scrap metal knowledge at all would immediately know to stay away! I give it 2 stars because the place seems to be a decent place to drop off bottles or any other CRV scrap. To make a long story short, if you have precious scrap metals, DON'T take them here!!!!! If you have precious scrap metals, take them somewhere else, ESPECIALLY if you haven't scrapped precious metals before, and don't know what they're worth. read more
