This was a quick and easy process, they are family run and kind. You can drop off all your recycle cans, glass, and plastic bottles. They were quick also to pay you out and you didn't have to fill out all these forms. They have good hours. The only problem I had was finding it for the first time because you have to go way in the back so it's not off the street so you have to look a bit.

The family that runs this business is very friendly and very helpful. The pricing is much better than miramar and the shade is an added bonus.

This is a great place to come in and turn in your recycling. They have new times so check that/ call before coming in. It's easy to miss where this place is but it's behind the liquor store, you drive behind it and there's a lot directly behind the new building that's being built. Workers here are great, quick, efficient! Not sure how this place is in terms of how much they pay compared to other recycling centers but it's a convenient location and quick to get everything done so I come here! I also HIGHLY appreciate how they have hand sanitizing wipes and bottles for customers for when they're done touching the trash bins.

I've had a small collection of plastic bottles and aluminum cans from my lunches that had been growing and growing. It was time to send them off to the land of recycling. Checked with my trusty Yelp and found SD Recycling Depot in Linda Vista. Easily enough according to my map to find, little did I know it wasn't the exact location. However, a quick call to the location and they simply guided me behind the liquor store to find the depot. As I pulled up, Anthony was sitting just outside by the scales and advised me to grab a trash can to begin the process. He helped me put the cans and bottles into the cans and weigh them each out accordingly. He counted off the weight to the woman inside the office and she calculated the amount due to me. When the weighing was done, the woman printed out a tally, I signed and she handed me cash. Not a bad way to grab a few bucks for tacos and help save the planet one can and bottle at a time! Keep on Yelp'n!

A clean, well-run recycling depot. I've always had positive experiences recycling there. Nothing negative to say.

Parking really sucks. It's in a real tight spot. It's hard to get in and out of there.

Got cheated by $3.50 as the worker counted 1 glass bottle instead of 36. Not a big amount but only one star for dishonesty. Attendant: Sarah

They are helpful and friendly. The space is clean and spacious. When we were newbies, they were gray teachers.

The price difference is very different-they know it and play games. There isn't a sign that says you need an ID, but you do. The Allan Company is located just inside the road off Convoy that leads into the Miramar landfill. The lot is quite run down and there is little signage. There is a small bungalow with a window for you to speak with a teller. The lot had plenty of parking on a Friday afternoon. The Allan Company does not take helium tanks for disposal. I was told by an employee there that the tank I brought them would explode. I called the general city Environmental Services line and confirmed that the Allan Company does not take helium tanks (even empty) and that they have to be disposed of as hazardous waste. As someone who works with hazardous wastes and compressed gasses on a normal basis I am confused how an empty helium tank with a hole in the container wall could explode or be considered hazardous waste, but nonetheless I could not recycle it. Would be nice if their website specifically said they do not accept helium tanks for recycling.

It feels strange to write a review of a landfill, or "the dump" as we call it, but after our…read morerecent visit, I had a few things that I wanted to share. Now, I have been to the landfill with my husband a few times over the years, usually when we have furniture to get rid of that is too damaged to see or donate. Our most recent visit was about two weeks ago. Our old patio furniture was disintegrating, and we had discolored cushions to get rid of. We tried to figure our a less bothersome or costly way to get rid of it, but, alas, we ended up at the landfill. The first thing we noticed was that the price was increased to $69 for cars and pickups. I thought that was super expensive, a large increase from our previous visit. Anyway, the landfill, as you may imagine, it massive. The roads are mostly dirt roads once you get inside. They are hilyl, have speed bumps and ditches. They also wet the roads to keep the dust from being a problem, so we ended up driving through water. You have to watch the signs carefully to figure out where to go. Once we got to to the area to unload, it was unclear where to go. The signs directed us one way, but the other people were unloading on the other side of the mounds of trash. My husband opted to follow the others, which is lucky, as we otherwise would have gotten in the way of the work trucks. At first, the people directing us to unload were no help at all. We had to guess where to pull up. Later, one guy came by and told us that we could just drop the items at the end of the truck and didn't need to move it our into the pile. That was helpful, as we then unloaded very quickly. My husband had lamented that he often ends up with flat tires after going to this landfill. Sure enough, a few days later, he found a screw lodged in his tire. It really could have come from anyway, but that is a rough road and there is lots of junk near the unloading area. I would not recommend going unless you have a truck, as there is no way my car would have made it. All in all, going to the dump is never fun. However, sometimes you just have no other ways to get rid of stuff.
