Two things that stood out as odd the first time I saw him was that rather than using a hygentist, the dentist is the one performing teeth cleaning. The other thing is that he told me my teeth we're in excellent shape and the cleanings only lasted about 10 or 15 minutes. I've never had cleanings go this quickly but I trusted his judgement. After relocating and finding a new dentist, I was told that I had quite a build up of tartar under the gums and that I was not receiving adequate teeth cleanings. I had to pay an additional fee for extra scaling because I did not receive a proper teeth cleanings at Dr. Joe's clinic over those repeat visits. I was told by this dental office that it is very unusual to not have hygentists on staff and under no circumstances should a teeth cleaning only last for 15 minutes. I did not receive adequate services here. Two stars rather than one because he's a nice guy.

Anecdote: After 6 months with a periodontist (also a good experience if not shell-shocking because of the cost) getting my jaw prepped for an implant, Dr. Hom helped me choose the color of my new tooth, and he listened to my input while offering his expertise, and that's a rare talent. He has always been respectful when I've expressed my discomfort and adjusted what he was doing to cause me less pain while he prepped my jaw and neighboring molars for the new crown. Placing my new tooth, he was exacting, quick, and skilled. It feels like I have my old tooth back.

I would not recommend this location to anyone and my primary care. Dentist apologized for suggesting this location. I am currently disputing charges that have since been reduced to $800 because of improper coding on my bill. There are still charges for services that were noted that we actively opted out of.
