I was greeted at the door by the owner, Serdar, who gave me a wonderful tour of his shop and we discussed the beauty of Chinese antiques. He had many different styles and dynasties of gorgeous pieces from vases and urns to furniture and dinnerware. He was enthusiastic to teach me about the various types and qualities, which I really appreciated. We talked about a cinnabar lamp I had that I had bought 30 years ago, and he was kind of enough to give me an appraisal when I brought it into his shop the next time I came in. We soon noticed that the whole store is full of unusual things, some new, some newish. The kind owner, Patrick Dragonette, happily answered questions and was so patient when I inspected each beaded insect brooch from the display case. This is hands down the coolest store in the valley, maybe in Southern CA (it used to be in Beverly Hills). If you love unusual things of high quality, make a bee-line to this very cool store.
