The park is beautiful and fun for the kids. It's just unfortunate that parents aren't watching their kids and reminding them to respect the beautiful shared space. This review is for the playground. There are way too many people who disrespect the park and others in it. Theres small kids and bullies with no parents watching them. Adults and kids who trash the park. Overall the park isn't that safe. I have to watch my kid super close and want to leave early. The upgrades are nice but there's people who mess it up. Every other time I take my kid, theres kids who are throwing garbage everywhere, cursing like an adult and talking about doing drugs. How are we supposed to have nice things when people mess it up? read more

My nephews celebrated their birthdays here and they always have tons of fun in the water. All the kids big and small had so much fun. Thank you so much. Disclaimer: My review is only applicable to the dog parks. I have not used any other facilities in this park. The dog park was built around 2020 or 2021. So as of 2024 it's still fairly new! It's well maintained. Sometimes the poop bags run out. When they do the community steps in and adds more until the City refills. The City of Fairfield has been very quick about responding to fallen trees. They listened to the people and moved trash cans inside the dog park area. These are lovely dog parks. Well shaded with very large mature trees. There's some metal bench seating under an awning. Some people have brought in picnic tables and installed a leash holder shelf. There's even obstacle/agility courses on both sides for the dogs. There are designated water fountains inside. The large dog park has a nice paved walking path. The fencing is 6' on the large dog side and about 4' on the small side. Beware the large dog side has a section near the agility course where your dog can dig out and run in the fenced in section between the park and the neighboring apartment complex. Don't bring your escape artist small dog here or do so with caution. The people and community here have been pretty friendly. The location itself as you can read from the other reviews is a bit sketchy. I wouldn't be here alone after sunset. There are homeless people nearby. The designated dog park parking lot is very small. But there is additional parking nearby with a short walk. My dogs really like this park. There are squirrels in the trees. So there's lots of natural enrichment. If the parking lot was larger and the location wasn't questionably safe this would be perfect! read more

Thank you to the city for providing such an amazing park for families in our community. The park is vibrant and colorful, the layout was thoughtfully designed, and it is a fully enclosed gated park. There are 2 entry/exit points. One in front of the parking lot and one towards the back that go directly into the fields. There are about 2 dozen parking spots and at least 4 handicap. There is plenty to do here. Two regular swings, two baby swings, two pull over swings, one double swing. ground level, spinning saucer. Over a dozen grounded, picnic tables. Free lawn space that's inside the park where you can play catch or kick around a ball. A garden rock area with a grounded toddler level, interactive wall maze. They have multiple wall climbing options. There's thoughtfully placed seated bench areas. The picnic tables are covered and I love that half of them are on the level of the playground and half of them sit overlooking the playground. It gives me the feel of the Oceanside, Long Beach parks We've seen down south. They have an ADA compliance ramp to the top level. 3 bathroom stall, 3 water fountains. A few observations. There are minimal trashcans. I only saw 2 on the lower level and 2 on the top level. I can Imagine a few booked birthday parties in the same weekend and there would definitely not be enough trashcans to accommodate cleaning up and servicing the daily regular traffic. I also did observe some damage already to the wall where it looks like it's being picked out. There were a couple of standing cones to somewhat "rope it off" but that didn't stop the kids from accessing it. And lastly, I love that it's an adaptive playground with the gate. However, the gates remain open. As always, keep your eyes on your kids, but do not rely on the gates if you have a wanderer or runner (like myself). :) Overall, great addition to the city. read more

This is about the Aquatic center. Water is consistently clean, the one missing star is due to very limited hours and an often busy pool, i believe they should expand the pool hours especially for lap swimmers to encourage health and fitness for the community. Almost every other public pool has double the amount of hours for lap swimmers, this pool seems to be staffed but not enough hours for lap swim exercise. They also block kids from lap swimming which doesn't make much sense since my kid (like many others) can swim laps almost like an adult ! read more

Nice sized park with lots of field space that could be used for sports and other activities. Play structure, aquatic area, and dog park are actively used. Unfortunately, there has been a large increase of trash and homelessness over the years that make it less desirable. read more

Be aware. Pool gave me an infection in my belly button piercing that has been healed for over 10 years AND pink eye. I have never had this reaction from a pool before. I know it's from here because it showed up immediately, the day after the party I attended here. Also, bathrooms were gross and they closed at 4pm on a Saturday, which I find ridiculous on a weekend in the summer. The outdoor pool area was so cold that all the kids in the party I was attending came back shivering and had blue lips. The indoor pool wasn't much warmer. read more

While there is much more to it, this park has a really good skate park. There are rails and stairs to jump and plenty of things to grind. There is a shallow bowl. The restrooms near the skate park were locked, apparently to prevent homeless people from living in there. Unfortunately, parking is shared with the swimming pool and playground, but further away, naturally. The group skating were agreeable. I was a bit surprised that the police drove through the park three times, checking for whatever near the skate park. read more

This review is for the swim lessons. We highly recommend this place! We drive all the way from Vacaville for swim lessons. The coaches are enthusiastic & interactive. Our kid loves coming to the lessons and used to be scared of water. I wish the complex was located in a safer neighborhood, but I know there's nothing we can do about that. read more

Perfect place to host a company gathering! The company that I work for has an annual get-together every fall for all employees, so I was looking for a place that could accommodate everything including their family members. We've brought on a lot more people this year, so the headcount was at nearly 250. I first inquired about the venue in early summer and April, one of the coordinators, was very helpful in putting me on the waitlist for fall registrations and answering all of my questions. Since we were looking to rent out the enter Natotorium, the rental hours were in the late afternoon since the morning is open to the public. The newly renovated area was very nice and a great place to bring all of our employees and their kiddos. They have a shallow area for little kids, a lazy river for kids and adults, and the deeper end with a diving board and slide. For the food, we had pizza delivered and set up everything in the 2 party rooms that are also available for rent. There are also showers and bathrooms towards the entrance and everything was fenced off outside so that we could ensure only our guests were allowed inside the facility. The staff during the event were all very nice and helpful and we had about 3 lifeguards watching over to just in case. read more

I drove all the way from El Cerrito & trust me, I'll be back. love the 2 big slides. huge huge outdoor waterworks & kids play area. plenty of chairs & tables-- sunny & shaded. natatorium = win. sometimes it's just too damn sunny & hot to be outside, having half the place indoors is brilliant. lazy river, high dive, flume slide, place to splash around. The only part of the park I can review is the aquatics area. It is awesome! We go pretty much every week during the summer. My kids love it. There are places to sit in the shade without reserving, and ample seating. Tons of life guards on duty and they are always friendly, but definitely keep an eagle eye out. Indoors there is a kids area with water splashers, and a deep pool with a diving board and small slide. These 2 pools are divided by a lazy river. Plenty of life jackets. Outside are two areas. 2 large water slides on one side, and the other side is another smaller kids area with small water slides, water guns, sprayers and a bunch of other little activity areas. The restroom/changing room areas are always clean and there is even a family room which is convenient since I have a 6 year old and a daughter in a wheelchair. I can help them change at the same time while my oldest son gets ready in the mens room. Cons: The food window. It's expensive which is normal for any park, but they also take a really really long time to get anything. There is also no shade where the line is and your feet feel like they are on fire while you wait for your food. We resolved that by eating before entering the park. Also, I wish the swim park opened earlier. Other than that, for $10 per person, we can have a terrific time in our little town and come home happy. read more

This is a review for the Aquatic Center. We attended a 4year old's bday party here, at end of summer w/ close to perfect weather. The area for picnic/bday parties were well maintained & clean; safe for the kids w/ a visible area to watch from the kiddie pool. The kid's pool is clean, warning: water is cold, but kids don't seem to mind. They have their fully-equipped junior life guards rotating from the indoor pool to the one outside. Kids are carefully watched and they are quick to disperse any congestion around the little slides or breakup unruly behavior lol. Minus one star though for the concession/party planning committee. The pre-ordered party package which includes strawhat pizza, drinks, plates, forks, napkins, and extra $$ for cake were my only gripes. My friend's son's party was 12-3pm and the pizza finally arrived at 2:10 pm. Kids were famished at this point, which opted the celebrants Mom to buy extra food at the concessions stand: French fries, hot dogs, nachos while awaiting delivery. The rule prevented her from bringing outside food, but it didn't seem to apply to other families visiting the park for the day from eating their snacks, chips, fruit, and enjoying their packed lunches. Not sure of the food rules though. I would bring my toddler here again because it's safe with well organized life-guarding, as well as the pool being not overly chlorinated, maintained well, and just about everywhere outside, it's very clean and well-managed. I would however, skip the overly-priced $400+ party package deal, seems high for straw-hat pizza and Safeway cake. Location has many accessible parking spaces and just off the free and easy to locate. Staff at the gate were friendly...lifeguards super focused on their job, don't bother them, they're snappy. I brought my kids here because this was the neighborhood park I came to as a kid and was pleased to see that there weren't any homeless or weird people around. I chose the back park (facing Woolner Ave) because it's usually not busy there. Other than that, the park could be cleaned up (reason for the 4 stars) by some lawn maintenance and raking. read more

We visited the aquatic center yesterday. I was very excited to bring my kids here to cool off and enjoy the water playground! I found the entrance fee to be affordable and they also offered padlocks for rent for $2. Staff were helpful. The park was easy to find and had ample parking. We did have an enjoyable afternoon, however, I was disappointed to see that outside of the central play structure outside, all of the surrounding water features were nonoperational. The splash pads further away from the outdoor pool worked, as did the features inside. The indoor slide also was not open, I was told due to short staffing. Had all the features been functioning I would have been much more pleased, but as a large number of them were not working, I think three stars is all I can justify. read more

There are lots of concrete picnic benches nearby (one or two seemed to be occupied permanently by peaceful residents with shopping carts). My aunt, AG, usually comes here once a week to meet up with her friends & play tennis. The other week, I thought I'd take HAPA Boy to a new park, change up his usual routine. I asked AG, "So, how's the area around Allan Witt, safe?" (Completely legitimate question, after all, it's Fairfield.) She said that it was fine but after dark there are a number of homeless that loiter around. Okay, noted... It was about 3pm in the afternoon, at least 2 1/2 hours before sunset. I entered through the North Texas St entrance, saw the aquatic center directly ahead, & the park area to the left. I headed towards the trees... As I drove past the restrooms, I immediately thought, "I should've gone right." As I made that initial left turn, I started seeing a few homeless people wandering around the area, no big deal. However, by the time I reached the corner and made the first right, I realized, "Well, damn... I just found the set of AMC's, "The Walking Dead." There were at least 20-30 homeless just in that one area only with a handful wandering the perimeter. It was clear, my aunt didn't have a f*k'n clue about what the hell she was talking about. (Sigh) "What... The... F*K?" 'OR she knew EXACTLY what she was talking about, "The last I saw DJ, he said he was going to Allan Witt Park. What do you mean he's missing?... I'll help any way I can. Do you need mean to identify the body?" I continued driving down the road that ran parallel to the park. I saw a Parks & Recreational Maintenance Vehicle off in the distance, near the back entrance. (Cool, I'll park there. You can never have enough witnesses.) Just as I parked, the city vehicle pulled out & drove away... "Well sh*t." I parked in a stall that was fairly visible from the pathway. I wanted to keep an eye on the car from a distance. Again, a few "Walking Dead stragglers", peppered throughout the area. HAPA and I started walking down a path that headed towards the tennis courts where we ran into a regular, Isabella, along with Fifi, her puppy boxer... 'And that little moment turned what started out as a WTF kinda experience, into a pretty good day w/the HAPA. (Thanks to these two ladies.) The HAPA and Fifi got along great, both friendly and wanting to play. Isabella suggested we take them to one of the empty tennis courts so they could play off leash. It was a great idea! Allan Witt has some decent amenities but not enough to offset the "Walking Dead" situation a couple hundred yards away. At the bottom of the city's website for Allan Witt, there's an added footnote regarding 24 hour surveillance. Now, keep in mind, IF the park was safe to begin with, the privately monitored cameras would not be necessary... 'BUT because it isn't, they ARE. ('And did you hear about the body of a young female found @ Allan Witt a few years back? True story.) The overall park can use some updating in regard to maintenance and cleaning. Call me fancy, spoiled, or someone that just loves being alive and not using equipment that might give me Hep B. (I'm kidding, I have Hep C.) If it wasn't for the sketchy element of the homeless situation, this park would easily be a solid three stars. Giving it a two star rating is being quite generous... I remember coming to this park at a kid going on a really old big tower down the slide. It has been since replaced with a cleaner, safer playground. My little sister would come here when she was younger sometimes to play. Just a few days ago, I paid a little visit to the park with a friend. We walked around a few times. It is a big park. There is so much space to have a picnic or have a birthday party. Heck, you can probably have all sorts of stuff happening and still have room. There is also an aquatic park. I have gone to it once, but it is too expensive to get in. I'd rather just swim in my nasty pool. The park is pretty clean. I didn't see anything disgusting or whatever. Go on a sunny day and have a picnic. It'll be worth it. I know it will the next time I have a picnic there. read more

My nephew had his 7th birthday here this past weekend. Due to the summer being over we were only allowed to take advantage of the inside pool area. It rained the day prior, so that wasn't a big problem. The party package doesn't allow you to bring any outside food inside the facility (other than cake and ice cream) but the workers were able to eat inside, go figure! They had a lot of life guards on duty (too many if you ask me), but with kids it is better to be safe than sorry. All of the kids and adults who got in the pool had a great time. None of the kids were ready to go after swimming for 3 hours, so I think that it was money well spent! read more

My son's birthday is in August so I'm always on the look out for places to go around this time of year.This park was perfect because the kids had a choice to play outside or stay indoors. And they never got bored. More importantly, my skin is very sensitive to the sun. Just a touch of summer heat & I break out into a heat rash. Kind of a bummer because I could never take him to the beach on his birthday. I guess I could, but I'd be the one with long sleeves on off to the side. Not a good look in 80-90 degree weather. So, this park accommodated my needs as well is what I'm trying to say. I tried to stay inside as much as I could. This place is clean, even in the locker rooms. The price to get in was very affordable & there is no time limit on how long you could stay. Except towards the end of summer they start reducing their hours so be sure to check. Went there last Saturday middle of Summer there busiest time of year I am sure of it! Arrived at 3:45pm thinking well if they close at 6pm that would be perfect and if they closed at 5pm we still have enough time to cool off for over a hour. "They closed at 4pm" I could not believe it, the girl behind the counter had the biggest smile on her face and said they were closing in 15 minutes read the sign in the window.
