Do not get me wrong--the food is 5 stars but you need to know what to expect. If you're Stanley Tucci, you likely won't wait like us. Also, because I'm American, maybe I'm not used to how they "do it in Italy" but you're going to stand in line! Our friends who live close insisted we tried. So I regret it? No! Experiences are something that last forever. With that, we waited maybe 15 mins to order. Not terrible but also, I couldn't imagine it in the dead of summer. There's maybe 2-3 tables for 2 outside and a few tables to stand up inside. Otherwise, if you get more than one cicchetti (we got 9), you need to find a window ledge, sit on the ground, or hold your plate and drink and try to eat. There! That's where a star disappeared to. The food was fantastic though! Cicchetti, not a single one was bad! The staff was pleasant AND!!! They have a WC. If you're in Venice, you have to give it a try!

Checking the box. A small corner bar serving up cicchetti that was recommended by a few friends. A bit of a line but we were able to snag a table and a few chairs. Inside is small but there a few counters along the window where you can park. Otherwise, there are window sills outside that can hold your drinks but not your plates. Makes for good pictures if you catch the sun right but the window is small. The cicchetti are fine. Seafood and meats combined with some garnishes and sauces to make bites. Think crudités or tapas. My only complaint is that the bread was toasted. Not sure which one is traditional but I preferred other renditions using softer bread as it's easier to eat and doesn't result in the entire bite crumbling away but I also recognize the toasting allows the bread to keep its structural integrity for saucier compositions. You can do better but it's a decent example near Ponte Di Rialto.

All' Arco was the first place I had ever tried cicchetti and I truly fell in love. The staff is always happy to suggest a wine pairing and they have never failed me. Years later it is still one of my favorite cafes to stop in when I am in town for work. It's the perfect place to relax with a bite and a glass of wine and enjoy a little people watching.

Okay, so I was so excited to try cicchetti. I tried to go on Saturday but the line was so long. I decided to go back on Sunday and go early. That plan worked out great, and there was no line here at 11:30 am. There were a lot of options and the staff were so helpful and friendly. I ordered 7 different types, including some classics like the salted cod, sardines in saor, as well as the salmon, cod, salami, and a small beef sandwich. The sardines and saor were pretty tasty which was a nice surprise, but some were not as flavorful as I expected. My favorite was the beef sandwich which had asparagus on it. The Aperol spritz was good, and I was definitely full after trying these.

I, like so many of us, watched King Tucci stop by All'Arco on Searching for Italy and was SO excited to find out it it was a stone's throw away from my Airbnb. I am also happy to share that during my visit in November, I was able to stop by, be served very quickly by the MOST friendly staff, and sit outside to enjoy my cicchetti in relative peace. Everything is truly delightful. I just pointed at the three things I wanted and didn't get any wine because it was 11am, something I regret now. Next time. This is a can't miss in Venice. The Venetian way of eating meshes very well with my lifestyle: drinking lil drinkies and eating lil snackies all day long. All'arco is a great spot to do it, though you can find similar haunts with less tourist traffic in other spots around the island. Don't skip the stuff that will make your breath the stinkiest (fish and garlic spreads) and maybe just get one of everything, like the girl in front of me did. Respect.

One of the best bites of my trip was here. The baccala mantecato is a must! Loved it so much I want to recreate it at home. So creamy, savory and not overly salty. The other cicchetti we tried included lardo, sardines in saor, anchovies and bleu cheese, and another fish. The toasts were heaping with toppings. The bleu cheese anchovy was definitely a strong flavor combo which would have been better with wine. Lardo and sardines were very tasty. We also had aperol spritzes. There was a line, but it moved relatively quickly around noon. No seating available, but we ate inside standing at the shelves along the wall.

Exploring the streets of Vebice, we came upon Bal All' Arco. I had read about it and couldn't help but stop for Chicchetti --- small slices of toasted Italian bread with a multitude of glorious toppings. There is no seating but for a few tables outside. Delicious and authentic must try while you're in Venice! Very nice and gets very busy!! Just try whatever you think looks good!! My one recommendation is the stick of fried shrimp! be warned there's limited seating but standing in an alley or the corner of the shop is part of the fun!

This is very popular spot for ciccetti in Venice, line is very long and limited table on the side street. You can see a lot of people just eating on the street or find a window to put down the drinks and food. Very local vibe. The ciccetti are not cheap compare to some other places but they do have a lot of options and great quality, easily spend a lot of money on a casual lunch because everything just taste so good. If you are visiting, give it a try; you won't be disappointed

After days of high-end $$$$$ dining, we just want to walk, shop, and taste "quick & simple" food. In my opinion, Cicchetti is the cousin of Basque Country's Pintxos. Yes, it is not as elaborated or sophisticated, but as satisfying. At times, simple pasta & sumo is all I want, Since my companion has not been in Venezia, I selected my (3) trusted Cicchetti bars. Warning, if you are traveling with elderlies or children, seatings will be rare. Since it is most proximal to our lodging and since it shutters its door the earliest, All'Arco is our 1st stop. Right at Rialto Bridge, full of tourists and locals. Great cheap wine & Prosecco, and decent Tramezzini. Plethora of choices of Cicchetti, just select your what yours eyes and tummy call for. What else can you ask for? A classic institution. An economical & tasty option in Venezia. read more

On the bar crawl that my boyfriend and I were doing in Venice, we stopped by here. This one in particular seemed to make it on many bloggers list when I was doing some research. It wasn't too far off the Rialto bridge, so we stopped by. This was definitely one of the busier bars we stopped by. There was a bit of line to get to the counter to order. There wasn't any standing room inside. We wanted to try out the cicchettis from here. It was so busy that they only had two cicchettis left. Everyone was ordering them and they weren't making them fast enough to keep them stocked in the window. We took the last two cicchettis and walked outside for some room to stand. I will say that these were some of my favorites that I tried because of the bread. Most of the cicchettis in Venice were on larger soft bread, but here they were on super crispy breads. I did like this place, just wish it wouldn't of been so busy. read more

Perfect place for those looking for an authentic Venetian experience. Delicious "cicchetti" and "tramezzini" (typical Venice small bites). They offer different varieties each day like spicy turkey, ham with truffles and anchovies with gorgonzola. All of which were delicious and pair well with a Spritz. These guys are the real deal and were even featured on the Netflix series "Somebody Feed Phil." Understand that this is not a tourist trap, so there are no signs in English or menus with pictures. However, the staff will happily explain each option to you in perfect English. You also might have to eat standing up as seating is limited (it's Venice after all), but turnover is quick and spots are easy to grab for those who want to wait. Trust me, this place is worth it. read more

This is one of those places that has become popular so a lot of tourists are now going, but doesn't sacrifice its local feel or quality of food because of it. All of the cichetti were amazing, the best we had in Venice, and it was so fun to watch them make them. The people working there were also very sweet, patient, and seemed to love what they do - even though it was jam packed on a weekday morning! Already can't wait to return when I go back to Venice in the future. Highly recommend. read more

All'Arco is a unique establishment; I've never seen anything quite like it. Despite the fact that it's a VERY small place, with a kitchen tinier than the one I used to have in my California condo, the staff still manages to produce numerous varieties of market fresh delicacies at breakneck speeds! Given its size, the place tends to get very crowded at times. That said, it's better to be lucky than good - when my friend and I arrived, we walked into the tiny bar and there were only four other people (all locals) there; two minutes later another dozen showed up ;-) All of us were pressed up against the tiny bar, struggling to preserve our respective individual spaces - I expect that the whole affair looked like an elaborate, old-fashioned dance... Tip: The food here won't rock your World, but it's original, local, tasty, and the overall experience of participating in the "dance" here shouldn't be missed! We ordered five different cicchetti, which included the traditional butterflied sardine (lightly battered and fried), marinated anchovy on bread and salted oiled anchovy on a light cream cheese on bread - the cheese cut through the anchovy saltiness. We also saw that some delcious looking fresh sandwiches were already made - there were square, deliciate, tiny white bread sandwiches, as well as a number of other dishes. To pair with our food, we enjoyed two glasses of house wine and an aperol spritz - the total bill came tgo just under 14 euros. The service was friendly and helpful, and by some miracle, we even managed to find a space to lean on the building across the street while we ate :-) read more

If you want to try cicchitti (Venetian tapas, kind of), All'Arco is a must. They have a variety of open-faced sandwiches and wine. I ordered 3 pieces and a glass of wine for 10 euro. Not bad! Everything was super tasty. The location is small with a couple of bar areas to eat and there are a few tables outside too. The place does get busy and crowded so not ideal for big groups. read more

After a three hour train ride and over an hour trudging through the streets of Venice with our luggage, we needed to stop and get something to eat. All'Arco is in a fantastic location, not too far from the Rialto Bridge and right in between the train station and our hotel in the Castello district. The place was packed, so my husband went in while the kids, luggage, and I stayed outside. Once my husband came back with a plate of different cicchetti, white wine, and an orange soda, and we were ready to chow. We weren't sure of what we were eating besides the fact that all but one were vegetarian, but we enjoyed it greatly. Our cicchetti were simple but full of flavor. Don't expect much space to sit and enjoy your food either inside the place or outside. And don't expect to get stuffed (unless you order way more food than we did). You will get great food and experience Venice at its finest at All'Arco. read more

Great little spot for some sandwiches for breakfast! Seating is fairly limited but we got lucky enough to snag a spot outside. We each ordered 4-6 mini sandwiches with various meats and cheeses. The waiter was very helpful with sandwich and wine choices. The sandwiches were delicious! My favorite was the prosciutto with fig, the fig was a wonderful burst of flavor on the sandwich. The bread was nice and crusty. The meat had wonderful flavor. My only regret was not taking more time to look at the sandwiches and order a greater variety of meats read more

Amazing! Favorite place in Venice for sure. Me and my friend were thinking of just coming here for a glass of wine and a quick bite to eat but it ended up being a whole meal for us. Cheap, Quick and DELICIOUS! I just ordered a spritz and 4 random crostini. You just walk up to the counter and order your drinks and the crostini from inside of the counter. I just got a spritz and I picked 4 random crostini that just looked delicious. Everything was! I found that the first ones were the best, as Venice knows how to do fish! It was also very affordable! Only just over 10 Euro and I was stuffed! read more

This place is a hidden gem. What can beat 2 dollar wine?! We came here for cicheti, or Venetian tapas. The goat cheese and sausage cicheti were ones to remember. This is a must for a quick bite or a lunch if you're visiting Venice. Note that there is minimal seating and standing room. read more

Had stopped here because our hotel owner recommended this. We had Truffle with Mushroom, Shrimp, Boiled Egg with Vegetables, Cod Fish Cicchetti's ( Venetian version of Tapas) along with White wine and Aperol Spritz. Loved the Shrimp and Cod Fish. Were not a big fan of Aperol Spritz. Overall the taste was good and seafood was fresh. As we had tried another place where the Fish wasn't as fresh as here. Would definitely recommend this for a quick bite and eat local in Venice !! read more

We ate a lot of cicchitti while we were in Venice, and this was by far our favorite. To be fair, we found this place through a guide book so perhaps there are a lot of tourists there. However, it seemed to be real mix of people from our observations. In any case, the snacks are great, the wine is plentiful and the atmosphere is lively. Yes, the pieces here are more expensive that other places but we thought the combinations were the most interesting by far. read more

Great Rick Steves recommendation. Stopped in for ciccetti and beers. We sampled multiple options of small plates from the numerous selection. Everything was fantastic. Had a really delicious beef sandwich here. We did not order the Cichhette (dietary restrictions limited our options) so I think they forgot about our order and I had to remind them about 10 minutes after placed the order. It was a little frustrating as it is a small space and we were jammed in there waiting for our food, but it was worth the wait, the sandwiches were fantastic. Simply excellent. Hit this place early (11am-2pm) for their ombré de cicchetti. (Local term for small bites in the shade.) Get a glass of Prosecco and small bite of Gorgonzola and truffle. You'll be standing inside, and I guarantee you-you won't mind a bit. read more

Unfortunately, this place did not live up to the hype for us. It actually made me Nauseous. The spritz was completely flat. My husband is from Italy, and I'm from NYC so I can see how we have a higher Italian food standard. Also €3 each piece is ridiculously expensive for Italian standards. read more

I really can't remember all the items I bought, there was just too many, but I snacked on almost everything I could get my hands on and most of it was real good! Amazing amazing amazing. Mind blowing. Quality. Worth the wait in line. I ate at Cantina de Moro next door, then ate here, and this one was way better hands down. If you want to experience cicchetti, go to this one. If you see the one that has the truffle cream cheese, then get it. LORD I WISH I GOT MORE THAN ONE. Learn from my mistake:) read more

The best thing I ate in Venice was a crostini at this little chicchetti bar. We went 'bar hopping' in this area for lunch and not only was it fun, but a fairly cheap way to try a variety of bites and I highly recommend the experience. This was the best place though, very cozy inside and you can essentially point out what you want to eat, almost like a bakery. My favorite was one with a white fish paste that was indescribably good. So good that hubby let me get another one, though we were supposed to be trying a bunch of different things. And all of the other crostini we got were great. They were also making some special salads/small dishes upon requests of what I assume were regular patrons. You stand and savor, there are a few places to set food down and a couple tables outside. Now for the bar part. Great wines at probably the cheapest prices we found in Venice or most of Italy. So great that we went back for a predinner drink. I don't do the same place twice when I'm on a trip, but I couldn't resist. And it's funny because they recognized us too :) I can't believe this wasn't on Yelp - I tried to search but no success. It's #2 on TripAdvisor though, and for very good reason. Definitely check this place out! read more

Looking for a great local eatery that serves some of the best panini that you've ever tasted, look no further. This quaint little wine bar has chichetti, wine, and fresh homemade sandwiches that are some of the best that we've ever tasted. Recommendation: Great place for delicious cicchetti (Venetian Tapas), cheap wine, and authentic experience. Be warned it will be crowded, busy, and you'll have to find a place in the street to stand or sit in order to eat. Regardless, a must do lunch or snack stop in Venice. Food: Try a range of veggie, seafood, and meat tapas. Our personal favs were the prosciutto with mozzarella and the prosciutto with melon. Drink: Do not get the beer. It is way overpriced and not very good. Do get the sparkling house white or any of their other cheap delicious wine options. Service: Prompt and friendly. Would definitely go back. For 10 euros you can get four tapas and a glass of wine. Not the most filling meal, but fresh and delicious. read more

The most amazing open faced sandwiches - I forgot exactly what mine was, but something with truffle, cheese & mushroom. The best thing I ate in all of Venice. They had a nice selection out, but when I told them I was a vegetarian they were very helpful in making me something suitable to my diet. The food and the wine is very reasonably priced as well. read more

As an Italian I can tell you by far that it's a waste of time and money, totally for tourists who dont have a clue about quality food. Venice has never been known for good food and if you disagree, take a walk around other parts of Italy and your food perception will change. Bread used for Cicchetti is not fresh and some of the ingredients that go on the bread are low quality. The spritz (orange water) was disgusting and flat.. It's not even a good conversation. I don't think it's a cheap place since a piece of old bread with a bit of average gorgonzola and a dry anchovy is 2,50 or 3 euro. Bottom line I give all'Arco a minus zero, I should have never read all this amateur-yelp reviews I could have saved myself a headache plus nausea. We live and learn I hope it will be helpful for you too. read more

One of the best lunches we've had in all of Italy. We ordered just random cicchetti (think tapas). Lots of fresh seafood like anchovies, sardine, octopus. Also had glasses of a sparkling white. The place is small, there are a couple of hard-to-nab tables outside and shallow standing counters inside along the windows. Otherwise, some people were standing and eating outside. read more

Small wine bar with great staff. Be prepared to stand! A few tables outside but likely you will creatively sit your dish and wine on a window ledge outside and enjoy people watching. Wanted Amarone which they were out of but the young guy suggested one of similar taste. Sold! Memorable Cicchetti's: prosciutto topped with mozzarella and sun-dried tomato. Fish with anchovies and capers. The fish with garlic herbed looked appealing but a bit too greasy. This is a place worth stumbling on during your strolls. read more

There are plenty of (pricey) restaurants to eat at while visiting Venice, but if you want to eat more like a local, you have to search for cicchetti. These are small plates of various meats and cheeses, not unlike Spanish tapas. At around just a couple Euro per plate or glass of house wine, you can have an incredibly delicious meal at an affordable price. All'Arco has the best cicchetti I could find on the little island, and I highly recommend it. When you find yourself elbow to elbow with locals, you know it's great! read more

Fun spot for a Spritz and people watching- standing only, but worth it to have a reason to linger in the attractive square. Frequent this place often to get the sense of the ebb and flow of locals and travelers. It is easy to add this locale to a "pub crawl" or search for the best that Venice offers. read more

This is one of the finest Cicchetti places in Venice. Open from 8a-3p (14:00) get there early at 12p to beat the rest of the crowds. Great experience overall, a little difficult to find. Ciccetti here, with the house white wine, was truly inspired and fun. All arco is run by a father and son, who really do seem to be having a good time. Get there early to snag a table (and a chair!). Very special! read more

Eat as the venetians do with cicchetti! When they say hole in the wall they mean it with this place! Tucked into a narrow alley it feels like you have to be lost- and then there it is! The guys working were so friendly! I recommend giving them some idea what you like- meat, fish, veggies, cheese, or combo- and letting the chef make up some for you to try! We did and got to try a nice variety. Then we ordered a few more of our favorites. This is a great way to try a local spot and fill up on the go while avoiding the tourist traps that abound in Venice! read more
