We came at around 6:00pm. All the tables outside were full but the inside was pretty empty. It was hot inside but better than no table at all. We sat next to the bathroom and it was hard to get internet in there. It took awhile for the server to seat us at first (around 15 minutes) so keep that in mind. We ordered the squid ink pasta, mussel and clams pasta and some cicchetti's. The cicchetti's were mediocre as they didn't taste very fresh but the squid ink pasta and the mussel/clam pasta was very good. The pasta was al dente and the flavours were on point. They are very generous with the amount of seafood I would definitely recommend this place for pasta. The price was also very affordable

3.5/5! Enoteca serves ciccheti (Venetian style tapas). There is a wide variety of things you can choose from but mostly focused on seafood. They had open faced baguette bites with various fish, and also white bread sandwiches with the crusts cut off. There were also fried dishes! Some of the dishes were off limits for lunch. The food itself was not bad, but just not too impressive. Their fried balls all tasted the same (we got the cheddar and jalapeño & cacio e pepe). Their white bread sandwiches were better than the open faced. I was a big fan of the tuna and tomato sandwich! Overall not a bad spot to try cicchetti as the staff is very welcoming and friendly. They speak English!

We tried this spot because it was recommended by our hotel. They have not steered us wrong this whole trip. The spritz were delicious but most importantly the cicchetti were amazing. They had alot of seafood choices that we opted for. They had the best scallops we had in Venice and a variety of sardines and shrimp. I will definitely come back if I'm in Venice again.

Enoteca Al Volto is located not far from the Rialto Bridge and has a display case of cichetti (little bar bites) and seafood, and it was a great place to sample a bunch of Venetian dishes! The cichetti included three different pastes made of whipped cod: Baccala Mantecato, Baccala alla Vicentina (mixed with Parmesan cheese), and Baccala in Umido (mixed with tomato), each served over a slice of bread. There were also Tramezzini, little sandwiches made with white bread, and we tried the ones filled with salmon/ricotta/dried tomato and the shrimp/egg in a creamy sauce; and from their selection of fritters, we had the Beet with Goat Cheese and the Tuna. Finally, from their seafood counter, we had a mixed plate that came with sardines, salmon, shrimp, a fried roll, mussels and scallops baked with breadcrumbs and Parmesan, and a bed of white polenta. Everything was tasty and delicious, and the service was super friendly, though all the little bites added up in cost.

This Enoteca was recommended by Monica Cesarato and it did not disappoint. Had an excellent selection of cicchetti with Prosecco. Staff were very nice and helpful. Great atmosphere.

We stayed in Milan and took a day trip to Venice. After checking out several other restaurants in the area, we decided to stop and eat here! Best decision ever! It was the best meal and aperol sprintz we had since we arrived in Italy (7 days prior). The homemade toasts, mussels and pasta were all very delicious. And the server actually spoke great english and translated the entire menu for us. We even got our pasta well done and it was perfect (for our taste). As for the aperol, he actually used Aperol and not Campari which is bitter, and it tasted sweet/bitter and proper. I highly recommend stopping at this hole in the wall place - since they are usually the best! Thank you for an amazing meal.

Nice little wine bar in a quiet street. We came here at the suggestion of one of our Venice guidebooks. The octopus salad was fantastic and was probably one of the best octopus dishes I've had in my life. The black ink squid pasta was just okay - very similar to the ones in the US. House wine was enjoyable. Service was decent. If you sit outside, make sure you pick a table that's well-grounded and also has good coverage with the umbrella. We kept getting small debris falling from the walls/roofs above.

Absolutely thrilled I stumbled upon this place. Good mix of locals and tourists. You can come here for small bites or a sit down dinner. I came for dinner and had spaghetti with seafood which was incredible. The staff was the right level of helpful but not fake which added to the atmosphere and I genuinely appreciate. Will recommend to any friends I have visiting Venice wanting a great meal!

Nothing special. It is a good place to get away from the touristic ambient/people, but the prices are all the same. You can notice a more local environment, and it is a fun place to have a drink and eat some Italian tapas. However the meal was not special. - Appetiser: we ordered the sardines and prawns dish -because we were told that Venice is good for seafood dishes- the prawns were really good -we've wished that dish were only prawns- but the sardines were just fine and the polenta as companion was nothing but bland. Kind of like the friend of the girl you want to date that it's always with her and you want to get rid off. - Main: I ordered the spaghetti with clams. This for me was REALLY GOOD. The clams had a pesto flavour that was different to the clams I've had before so it was a pleasant surprise. My husband had the Strozzapreti with prawns and zucchini but this was a little bit salty. - Dessert: as we are still in the hunting for the best tiramisù, this is our automatic pick. It was ok, nothing special. Best than my husband's but not as especial as the one we had in Florence. To yellowish for my visual taste. One complaint we had was that we waited for the bill for 20 minutes, the place was busy, but it was a little bit frustrating as we were with a baby and wanted to go to the hotel.

The food was great and the staff is really friendly. I went in not knowing what to expect and it was beyond my expectations. The waiter recommended a few dishes and all were so yummy. The food is fresh because they change the menu based on what is in season. This is definitely a place I'd like to come back to.

We loved eating here so much that we actually went back a second time! After being in Rome where we had trouble finding a place that wouldn't rip us off or over charge, it was so refreshing to get to Venice and eat here. The food and wine was great and it was reasonably priced. The fresh pasta was delicious. We had amazing service which made the experience even better! I'm so glad we found this place and I just wish there had been more restaurants like this in Venice.

If you are in search for the authentic Venetian experience, this is definitely the spot to check out. From the delicious cincchetti platter and the octopus salad to the two pasta dishes with seasonal seafood and squid and black ink sauce, everything was absolutely delicious. The staff was unpretentious but helpful and extremely kind. As we paid, the waiters gave us lemon liquor just to try out for free. This place had an amazing atmosphere and made us feel welcome in Venice. Thank you so much!

Upon arrival, the owner was sitting at a table drinking wine. There weren't any people dining, so we were the only ones. The servers and cooks were very attentive. We were immediately greeted and seated while our drink requests were taken. We always choose still water. Today, we decided to try a wine tasting, which included a blend of whites of reds from the region. The waiter explained in detail the type of wine, where it is made, what type of grapes it is made with, and the year it was made. All of the wines were very delicious. Italy takes great pride in their wines and rightfully so. We requested bruschetta and presciutto. We were given fresh, warm bread, which we mixed with salt, pepper, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar. The bread was amazing. It had a soft, warm inside and a crunchy outside. Isn't that they way bread should be served? The bruschetta was delicious as was the presciutto. The food, wine, and service were superb. We vowed that we would return for dinner, but alas, we didn't make time to do so. This is a great restaurant!

Maybe he was having an off night. He asked what we wanted to try. He'd pour a tasting and then roll his eyes and wander off, bring his friends their charged phones from the back, and then just look at us. Such a shame, we had hoped for a better experience. Location is very nice, right at a pretty trendy canal, filled with lots of restaurants and bars. Right next to is an excellent gelato place. It's quite small inside with few tables, many just hang around outside - and why not, the location at the canale is a pretty spot. We did manage though to get some seats inside. Our Bulldog was very welcome here as well. The various cicchetti are presented at the counter. There are some classics of course, but also some very innovative creations. We went for the latter. There was gorgonzola with strawberry, radicchio with brie cheese, pesto topped with an anchovie and mushrooms, mashed fava beans with pulp and mashed fava with goats cheese and a cherry. All really wonderful combinations. Our favorite were the radicchio and the fava/goat cheese. Surely something to recreate back home. Staff was very friendly, we felt very welcome here. And instead of focussing on Aperol, Select and Prosecco, it's mostly about white and red wine here. And they have an excellent selection of wine. Not all cheap, but definitely worth the money. We especially loved the Pinot Nero "Terre di Giotto". A brillant cicchetti bar. Definitely a place we come back to next time in Venice.
