It's just so utterly terrible. The school honestly makes me want to rip my ears out and make myself…read moreblind. For once I'm jealous of the deaf and blind because I at least don't have to see the large various colors of those who sag their pants and show half their entire underwear to the whole school or having to hear the N word thrown around more times than a Klansman. Don't even get me STARTED on the teachers. They are the most corny, aggressive and untamed animals in this zoo of a school district. Maybe if they had a different administration, different teachers, different students, different school style, different school board and different staff, I'd probably raise my rating to a solid two at best.

The school has a big drug problem, for one (I had to attend 5 mandatory seminars about heroin and…read moremeth for the THREE MONTHS I was there). I am not from Georgia, and this is the first school I attended when I moved here. I came around late Jan 2015 I believe. I was 14 years old. Everyone was initially nice, but towards the end of the semester, I just realized it is that southern hospitality facade. I experienced low-grade racism/microaggressions from the students and teachers. I had a music theory teacher (I think her name was Rhoades) that said she got tired of me worrying about my complexion when I looked in the mirror. The room I had class in had a mirror as a wall, and I did look at myself when I initially walked into class because what person does not look at themselves when they see one. Why would I need to worry about my complexion? I was 14 and completely comfortable in my skin. That comment struck me as wrong, like I needed to be worried or insecure. The comments from the students were mainly insinuating that they were "surprised" that the white guys were drawn to me (note, this school is majority white). I just looked confused, like, is it because I am not white that you are surprised? I also got comments from the guys that were like tropical this and that because I am of Latino ethnicity. All in all, the students and staff do not have the greatest morals in my own experience. I transferred to East Paulding and it was SO much better. I did not experience anything like that from the staff or students. Must be the income that makes a difference in the morals....

When i go to the principal for help, the front office staff will tell me "He isnt here right now but ill leave him a message". Two weeks later i havent gotten a call up to the front office. The lunch food is horrible!!!! the chicken is cold, the milk has been sitting out for god knows how long and the lunch people are really rude. They stole money out of my account! And the teachers, some should get fired but elsewhere the rest of the teachers are average or excellent. The bathrooms are always broken and theere is little to no water that comes out of the faucets. The unirals always get clogged up and flood the bathrooms. The teachers are allowed to cuss at students and ive heard a teacher call a black person a monkey and a n***a. And when i went to report it the staff thought i was joking!! And some teachers throw stuff at students. lunches are expensive for the quality that the food is so i reccomend that you bring a lunch as long as possible. And your required to wear a certian uniform for P.E. which is like 15-20 dollars. Dress code is strict. but its all on girls not boys. As for the LGBTQ+ community supporters and pride supporters, you will be lucky to survive a school year without either getting a concussion by getting your head slamed into a locker door. The locker times are a bit off and you cant put anything in there except unused school items, watter bottles, devices, lunch boxes, and jackets. If you decide to play an insturment, be ready to spend a lot of money. as a clarinet player and a bass clarinet player,i usually spend 600 dollars a year on the insturments for items like reeds, ligatures, cork grease, swabs, maitnence, and cleaning tools. So i reccomend getting an insturment from music and arts but i dont reccomend getting an insturment from amazon, ebay or another website that is sold by a private seller as the insturment could be damaged. There are a few structural problems like cracking in the outer walls, water stains, and poorly sealed exterior doors. Otherwise i would reccomend going to another middle school like lovingood or Mcclure Middle school.

The teachers and staff cared deeply about their students and constantly went above and beyond to support, encourage, and challenge us. I'm incredibly grateful for the environment they created. I always felt pushed to do my best while also feeling known and valued as an individual. The faculty invested so much of themselves into their students, and it showed in everything from the classroom experience to the relationships they built with us personally. As an adult now, I realize and admire how much the school emphasized character, faith, leadership, and integrity alongside academics. The lessons I learned extended far beyond my time there. No school is perfect, but I can honestly say my experience was overwhelmingly positive, and I will always be thankful for the teachers, mentors, and friends who made those years so meaningful. This school gave me a strong foundation and prepared me well for the next stage of life.

I spent three years at that school, and over time I built a reputation as the "bad kid." By 8th…read moregrade, I had completely turned things around. I didn't get in trouble a single time. Then I got suspended over something unbelievably minor. I threw leaves at my friends while we were walking outside, and later I gulped while my principal was talking, which they took as disrespect. That was enough to suspend me. After that, I found out my history teacher was telling other people about my suspension. I sent a respectful email asking one simple thing: "Please do not tell others about my suspension." The day I was supposed to come back, instead of letting me return, they called my family into a meeting and told us I was being expelled. During that meeting, they lied to my parents about what my email said. Then they made me leave the room and proceeded to yell at my mom while she begged them for one more chance. What makes this even harder to understand is that this was a Christian school. Christianity teaches forgiveness, grace, mercy, and second chances. Jesus forgave people who had made far greater mistakes than I ever did. Yet when I finally changed, none of that seemed to matter. They judged me by who I used to be instead of who I had become. That experience changed the way I looked at Christianity--not because of Christ, but because of the people who claimed to represent Him. If you're going to call yourself a Christian school, then live like Christ. Don't preach forgiveness while refusing to practice it. Don't talk about grace while holding someone's past against them. What happened to me wasn't Christ-like, and I'll never forget it.
