STAY AWAY: OVERBILLED, UNETHICAL, A SCAM, CALL CENTER NIGHTMARE. (Please notice how they do not respond to their one star reviews...) I went to this urgent care for a small rash on my hand. I was in and out in under 15 minutes. No labs, no procedures, no tests, and no complex decision-making. The doctor simply looked at my hand and prescribed a cream. Weeks later I received a bill coded as a Level 3 visit, which is meant for moderate cases requiring detailed history, a full exam, and more involved medical decision-making with labs or diagnostic testing done. My visit had none of this. According to coding guidelines, this was clearly a Level 2 visit: a straightforward problem with low complexity and a simple treatment plan. Billing it as a Level 3 is inaccurate and feels like an intentional overcharge. On top of that, I was charged for a mental health screening that never happened, a weekend fee that was never disclosed, and even a new patient fee at an urgent care, which makes no sense. When I called billing, I was told an investigation would be opened. I followed up multiple times, only to be sent to collections instead. When I called again, I was told no investigation had ever been filed yet somehow the doctor had already "declined" my dispute. After I pointed out how impossible that was, the rep suddenly "found" my complaint in the system. The entire phone call was frustrating and unprofessional. The rep spent 20 minutes repeating my complaint back to me in circles and refused to transfer me to a supervisor until I said I was prepared to file a complaint with my state insurance commissioner and consider legal action. Only then did "the only supervisor" suddenly become available to call me back. When I asked for the supervisor's name, she said there were "many, many supervisors" and couldn't give me one. I pointed out the contradiction.... first there was only one, now there are many.... and she cut me off with a dismissive "have a good day." Before hanging up, I asked again for her name. After a long pause and more hesitation, she finally told me it was "Princess." Princess. THIS IS A JOKE. This urgent care and their outsourced billing department are not just making mistakes, they are taking advantage of patients. I know my visit did not meet Level 3 criteria, and being billed this way plus for services I never received is completely unacceptable. I am at a lost of what to do so the least I can do for right now is to warn others to PLEASE never go here. read more

Natalie exemplifies customer service 101 and 201 and has greatly and enthusiastically helped me navigate some challenges with a missing order for a lab test and a prior auth that wasn't moving through the system on the advertised timetable for some reason . ZERO STARS - WORST EVER! They clearly don't want to work. I walked in and ask to see a doctor and they say do you have an appointment? I didn't (it says walk-ins welcome). One staff said to the other lest see if they can see her. There were no other patients waiting and then she asked have you been here before? I said no and she yelled to the other staff "she hasn't even been here before!" At this point I said don't worry I leave and I tell them they should change signs because they don't welcome walk-ins. They told me some nonsense about weekends vs week days... whatever you clearly don't want to do the work of checking in a patient. Came in a little late, trying to be seen for a major cut with the understanding it may have been too late. I sat in the waiting room for 25 minutes, completed my check in while calling for help because I could literally hear someone in the back, but they never came out. Called the number twice, straight to voicemail. Only when another employee returned to the practice and asked if I had been helped did she bother to show her face. Came out, accused me of lying about waiting for 20+ mins, and refused care. Would have been fine if she had bothered to do her job or responded to me calling back repeatedly when I got there. Clearly could hear me enter because she appeared as soon as her coworker opened the door. Pathetically unprofessional. I could have gone somewhere else and been helped, instead got my time wasted and backed into going to the ER. read more

I'd already been to an AllCare facility so they already had all my info. Fortunately issue was minor and didn't require any additional medical care. My experience was really bad. The physician assistant signed my prescription not the doctor, when it's clearly a Maryland law that a doctor needs to sign. The pharmacy can't fill and myself and the pharmacy called over and over to speak with someone to get the doctor to sign it. Meanwhile I am in pain from my ear infection I came to get treated. I end up calling another doctor to fill the prescription because we cannot get through to you. I stop by to ask the receptionists why they can't answer the phone when they're clearly there and I was basically laughed at. read more

Honestly I ignored the bad reviews because this place is so convenient for me but its not worth it. I had been coming here for 2 years. There was an inconvenience almost every time i went there. Doctors dismissed my pain as poor eating when that wasn't the case and continued to bring it up at following appointments. The nail in the coffin was when i had an appointment and was asked to come back because the internet was down - no worries rescheduled for the next day. I received a very bad, 5 minute appointment from a doctor at this place, and was prescribed steroids for an ongoing cough after a covid infection without any tests or any follow up. Fortunately, I did not trust this and followed the issue and learned that not only those steroids for someone my age can have more side effects than help, what I needed was antibiotics. Today, I also received a 200+ bill from them for the part that my insurance did not cover. Apparently they charged over 400 bucks for this useless 5 minute chat and the insurance did not cover it all. Not to mention, I was informed that they took my insurance and I was never informed about such a difference - if I did I would not make the appointment. I called for a Covid test. One appointment was for my husband and one was for myself. I tried to join my appointment and it said there wasn't one. My husband had his appointment but they would not allow me to join. I called the office and they said that my insurance was not taking it. My insurance had changed since I was last there. They did not ask if insurance was changed. When I called to see if I could meet with the doctor i was told no even though the doctor said he could. While this location literally has "urgent care" in the name, they refused to bill a short visit for a burn as an urgent care visit, resulting in a ridiculously expensive bill. While I was there, they charged me for my normal urgent care co-pay of $15. They later sent me a bill for over $300 and when I followed up with my insurance, I was told that it was billed as a normal out of network visit. When I followed up with All Care, they told me it was not in their policy to bill visits as urgent care, despite it being in the business name. After multiple calls, they lowered my bill to around $50 which is still much more than my copay. This is extremely misleading and predatory. Please don't make the same mistake that I did if you are looking up somewhere to go for urgent care. read more

I returned to All Care a year after a very positive experience. I suspected a UTI and gave a urine specimen. I was then seen by Dr. Divya Verma who told me I had inflammation and prescribed an antibiotic and something for my stomach should I need it. He also ordered a urine culture which would further identify the problem. Then the craziness began. He looked at my chart and said I had taken too many COVID vaccines and not to have any more because they don't work. He said Trump was right that they were promoted to give business to Pharma. He told me Amish people didn't get COVID( I later checked this out and learned it was false information posted on social media.) He then told me in one year a pallet of plasma will be available for everyone free of charge and it would extend our lives for one hundred years! As I left the office about 1:45pm the Dr said he would call in my prescription right away so I could pick it up on the way home. I needed to call the clinic three times before it was finally called in after 5pm. I took the medication and stomach meds. After 2 doses I experienced severe stomach pain. I decided to stop the medication and wait for the results of the culture. Yesterday (6 days after my visit) I spent many hours trying to contact LabCorp and All Care to get the results of the culture. At one am this morning the culture results were posted on my AllCare patient portal: NEGATIVE with no sign of infection! read more

Where do I even start... - If you can schedule with Tata (PA) or Dr. Grey, they're the best two members of the staff on board - hands down. - The front desk staff is completely incompetent and have ZERO customer service. I gave them my new phone number AGES ago, and they still haven't updated it in their system. This resulted in the doctor calling the wrong person, and telling me "I'm glad I didn't say anything about your chart to someone else." Additionally I called the next day for my X-Ray results and was not only put on hold for 20 minutes, it was only to be told I would get a call back from the doctor. Three hours later, I had no choice but to call back after not having heard from anyone. I was hung up on the first attempt, and then put on hold for almost an hour the second attempt. I hung up and, when I called the THIRD time, someone from the front desk staff fed me some story about how she tried to call me. If they had updated my number (per earlier in the complaint), we wouldn't have had an issue! - I've been coming to this location for about a decade, on and off. I've even brought my son in as well. And I ALWAYS make appointments. This particular time, I had to do a walk in because the occasion was pretty emergent. Anyway, I waited in my own room for over an hour, with NO communication from anyone stating "so sorry for the wait, the doctor should be in soon". - When I was seen by the doctor, she was extremely nice and accommodating. Except because my knee was injured, I wasn't even offered a wrap or small foam brace for my leg. I don't know WHAT this practice has turned into but, back in the day when I used to go, I would have gotten the red carpet treatment when it came to accommodating my knee injury. Let's just say I'm never coming here again, and neither should you. The ONLY REASON I gave it two stars is because God Bless Tata and Dr. Grey. The doctors are solid, but the billing and the front desk have poor customer service. I want to like this place, but dealing with the billing issues is too time consuming and frustrating. $177 flu shot. Upon review of bill with insurance company an "after hours" fee of $54 was charged for a 5pm shot. $73 for administration of shot by nurse. Called the billing department at least three times, no one ever answers the phone. The message left was never returned. Tried to work with front desk directly, but they were unwilling to rebill as a flat fee. read more

I scheduled a physical for 5/29. I talked with the call center and they gave me fasting instructions and ensured that AllCare Bethesda would perform this function. I then took time off from work and followed fasting instructions for blood work. I showed up on time and entered office where I was greeted by staff not wearing face masks but put them on immediately when I entered. Dr Hammet then told receptionist that they were not doing non emergency work and I was told to leave that they couldn't do anything for me. I called the call center to express my frustration. They said that Bethesda all care was doing non emergent work and they would call to straighten this out while I was on hold. They then told me that Bethesda was not answering their phone and apologized. Bethesda called me back later and said that they are not doing non emergent work to protect their staff and doctors. Their office is not marked to reflect this. The call center had no knowledge and the website does not state this. In short they wasted 2 hours of my time . I will not be going back to this location. I have had very positive experiences at the Arlington all care location. I don't understand why I wasn't told before hand or why at a minimum they couldn't take my blood samples. The way Dr Hammet handled this situation was disappointing. read more

There has always been openings when trying to make an in person or virtual apt. I haven't had to wait any longer than 10 minutes. They're under the guise of what's best for the patient, but it is a bottom-line issue I've come to understand. I live two blocks, walkable. That's crucial to me, as a senior with multiple issues. This is not a community asset, turning me away. My main doctor was Matt Bruntel, whom everybody including myself likes; did he do this? Since, I've had various urgent care issues, including a kitchen mishap with a knife, Shut out, I self-treated and got an infection. Unconscionable model for treating people with real needs. I scheduled an appt for Mar 14 at 1130, first appt of day. Staff checked me in promptly and got me back into a room. While at front desk another patient was tracking down records that had not been sent to her. A bit after 1140 I asked if the doctor was coming, as I need to get going by 12, when the next appt opening was anyway, and I was told he was in a meeting. As a physician myself, I consider it important not to schedule other events during patient appt times. I left and scheduled an appt at Capitol Medical Group on Connecticut, which I highly recommend. read more

I wish I was joking as I'm writing this review. My friend had to come here as a last minute solution to a medical issue. Upon arriving, the kind nurse said they would be able to help and escorted her into the medical examination room. The doctor came in to help her with the problem with her foot she came in for. After helping her with her unrelated medical issue, he commented that she should watch her carb intake and lose some weight. This is disgusting and uncalled for. Had a great video appointment with outstanding PA, Tata Mikaelyan. I called at 5.45pm and was able to book a 6.15pm video appointment. Never had to leave the house. PA Tata is always warm, personable, efficient and informed and provides excellent care. She had already reviewed my medical history with BIC before I called, knew when I had last been in and why. I have always loved the docs (and PA) and the care at BIC, but not the front desk. With video appointments that is no longer an issue. I'm very grateful and have only good things say. read more

They charged my provider (BCBS) $466 for my first visit (AMA code 99204) which this code averages a $200 charge at most practices in the metro DC area. Not only are they up-charging these codes in order to make more money, but the AMA criteria for these codes is not being followed properly. I saw a physician's assistant for 10 minutes for a visit which should have lasted up to 45 minutes of consultation per AMA guidelines for this code. The PA only gave me half of my regular qty prescription with no refills! Makes me wonder if they want patients to come back more often for refills in order to make more money. I have to pay almost $200 out of pocket when I normally pay less than $50-100 at an urgent care (patient first, right time). Be ware of this before you go in for a visit! FYI this is not an "urgent care" facility, even though they call it "immediate care." Why does this matter? Because they can charge higher prices compared to urgent care facilities as explained to me by both their billing dept as well as BlueCross. EDIT: so after posting a few reviews for this business I got call from their billing department and they discussed why I was charged the high price and they refunded me $73 out of the $200 I paid. While this does help, future patients should be aware of the higher than average prices. read more
