I wanted to update my review since I originally started going to Dr. Felber's MedOne urgent care in 2015 when I moved to the area. Over that time I've used MedOne to fill the gap because they have very convenient hours and are open late on both weekends and weeknights. And I have always found them to be both extremely patient-focused and caring, and a great resource to have in mind if you need to use them. Basically, this is just a very good convenient way to see a doctor on the fly in Bethesda. They also have a few common prescriptions on hand in the office so they can give you them on the spot, often at very low prices which saves you from going to the pharmacy for a $5 generic prescription or something like that. That seems like a small thing, but it's part of a bigger thing which is that this is a small patient-focused business that does what it does well. While sometimes during peak hours it gets slightly full or chaotic, often if you go at slightly off peak hours you can be in and out really fast. My insurance also recently changed and I didn't notice that they were out of network, but they accepted the not so high payment my insurer gave me to cover it, rather than charging me the balance. I was honestly really surprised that they did that because it's so uncommon these days. This also goes toward showing that MedOne and their doctors can be caring and understanding in a way that a mega practice is definitely not going to be. In closing, I think this is a great small business run by caring doctors, and it provides an excellent counterpoint to other options that are available. You can ask them really anything you want by phone or at the desk. And it's a completely different feeling than at the larger business alternatives in the area which are run by practices that employ hundreds of doctors, have very aggressive billing departments, etc. This is an office where things are more transparent and simple. My young adult son recently went to MedOne for a medical issue. We were so grateful that it wasn't crowded. The office was neat and clean. My son was greeted by the doctor, who took him right back, assessed his condition, and determined that he required antibiotics. Do not ever go here if you want quality care. The doctor diagnosed my mother with pneumonia and didn't suggest any follow up when what she actually had was a pulmonary embolism that required a CT scan for diagnosis. If she had listened to this doctor, she would have died. read more

SO so thankful that this urgent care was open at 8:30 on a Friday night! Everywhere else was closed or said they were no longer accepting patients. ?? I didn't realize injuries didn't happen after 8. This office is small and has limited staff, but I was seen immediately upon coming in. The Dr. was friendly, professional, and had my foot stitched up in no time. This place is horrible. I arrived to an empty office with another couple following me. Dr. Eric Felber was sitting at reception. He never greeted me or EVER gave me eye contact. He barely spoke as he barked for information. Name, birthdate, insurance. He seemed to be in a bad mood. I tried to be nice asking if he had a hard day. He mumbled a response. When I asked a question about how urgent care centers worked having never been to one, he ignored it and told me to give him my drivers license. At that point I asked him why he was being so rude. He told me to sit down as he had other patients (I guess the other couple who were happily sitting in the waiting area). He literally was planning to dismiss me. I have never encountered a more rude, unprofessional healthcare person in my life. I felt zero concern or even acknowledgement of my humanity. Dr. Felber has nonexistent bed side manners. I left - in 5 minutes, this man was as rude as he could be. Don't come here. In addition the office seems dirty with run down old furniture and walls in need of painting. read more

We are here visiting and went to see Dr. Felber because my daughter was having difficulty breathing. We were so grateful to see that this urgent care was open on a Sunday afternoon. We were seen within five minutes and he was able to give her a breathing treatment. Unfortunately, she is still having some issues, but he then gave us a round of prednisone as well as a sample inhaler for her to try. It was such an easy experience and saved us a three hour or more trip to the hospital. I highly recommend paying Dr. Felber a visit if you have a medical need. read more

Dr. Eric Felber at MedOne in Bethesda, MD is a kind and caring physician. My husband, children and I have made many visits over the years for all kinds of ailments or minor injuries and he has always treated each of us with a high degree of professionalism and empathy. The convenience of the office location and business hours is a real "plus" over trying to schedule an appointment with our other family doctors. And, as others have stated here, the office often has prescription drugs on hand so you don't always have to follow up with your busy pharmacy. If it were possible to give negative stars I would cover this review with them. I can't comment on the service because I was ignored for twenty minutes. I was simply told to sit down without even asking what brought me to the URGENT CARE clinic! A woman walked in and asked him could she ask a question and he responded sure ... and shut the door to his office again without asking her anything. By the way, we were the only two "prospective patients" in the facility. Do not go here unless your immediate need is to be ignored and denied the common courtesy from a medical professional. That was my experience. I literally just eft having never uttered a word -- other than saying "ok" to a person who told me to sit down. I drove .2 miles to the Welcome Family clinic on Wisconsin and met with ... yes a person who asked why I had come in for medical treatment. Amazing!!! read more

Having had the need for urgent care over the years, I have found the care at MedOne to be not only top notch, professional, accurate and spot on across a vast number of areas, having found myself under the care of MedStar Staffing recently went back to MedOne for follow up and advise on treatment. Both Dr Felber and his PA Susan we're far more knowledgeable and able to treat my condition and subsequent treatment. With follow up calls to check on me I felt more at home and cared for than I have in years. Not only was the visit fast, it was accurate and spot on. If you are looking for urgent care! Or care that you have been overlooking for a while, look no further. They accepted my insurance and I was only responsible for my co-pay. There was no need to call in an RX at CVS for yet another wait as they have a pharmacy in house for several of their prescribed medications. Talk about Win-Win. And again this has been the level of care for years now with my kids and for my own personal care. Kudos to this practice. Thank You for All You Do! If I could rate them higher I would! read more

I brought my mom here check on her suspicion for bronchitis last year, i brought my husband here on suspicion that he had a tick bite last summer. I came here to get a TDAP shot during pregnancy this year because my doctor doesn't stock vaccines at her office. No wait, or barely ever. Quick and easy every time. I found out about this place through word-of-mouth. I had to come here recently and my experience was excellent on every level. After battling bronchitis for a few weeks, I decided to stop in on a Saturday since my primary doctor's office was closed. I called first to see how busy they were... lucky me, there wasn't a wait! So, I arrived and was greeted by a friendly receptionist who took my insurance information and had me fill out 1-2 pages of paperwork. I was seen within minutes after arriving by Dr. Eric Felber who was very friendly. As I anticipated, I needed antibiotics & an inhaler for exercise-induced asthma which I've recently developed (good ol' DC air---gotta luv it). I had some questions and he had answers. At this point, a few others arrived (I could hear them in the waiting room), but I didn't feel rushed at all. I asked the receptionist to call in my prescriptions and she did it, without hesitation. The doctor even called me the next day to see how I was feeling. I'm so grateful that this place exists because going to the ER would have been a nightmare! Note: they're located off Old Georgetown Rd (across from Lilit cafe) and the Exxon gas station. There's plenty of parking in the back lot and it's free which is rare in Bethesda. read more

I felt sick last week and convinced myself I was dying, so i headed to MedOne Urgent Care. You can drop-in, and you don't need an appointment. It was a convenient location, with a handful of parking spots in the back. There were a good number of people on staff, and at least two (male) doctors. They do some testing on site- like for a UTI- and you can also get a script from them and fill it on site. I got seen within 30 minutes, and everybody was incredibly nice. The doctor gave me some recommendations for OTC medicine as well. With my insurance, the visit cost me $50. I'd definitely recommend this place if you are looking to see a doctor quickly! read more

Took my son there. We waited in the waiting room while another patient was being seen. When the doctor came out, he didn't even acknowledge us and just sat down at the receptionist desk. Eventually I went up, I wasn't greeted or looked in the eye but just asked what the problem was. I was charged for a specialist, which was a $95 Co pay and the appointment took 5 minutes. read more

Although we have an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases, the person who was helping the clients on Tuesday 1/11/2022 was wearing a procedural mask with his nose uncovered. He did this while providing services, including doing a rapid COVID-19 test for a young client, who in that process had to uncover her own nose putting her and the clinic's provider at risk for getting or giving COVID-19. Healthcare providers must be an example to the public and show that we know how to protect ourselves and our clients. This certainly was not the case in this clinic. read more

Came to this urgent care with chest pressure and requested a covid test. And these are the reasons why I am writing this review: 1) Dr. Felber performed this nasal swab, during this covid-19 pandemic, without any gloves on, I had to remind him to put them on after he jammed the swab in my nose with no warning. He put me at risk, himself at risk, and the future patients under his care at risk for possible exposure. 2)Besides having no bedside manner and flat out rude, he asked what symptom I was having and I stated that I was having chest pressure. This doctor, this medical professional, this person who took an oath to "do no harm" did not ask any follow up questions regarding this chest pressure. I left that urgent care with no medical guidance from this physician. 3) He performed the nasal swab in the open waiting room - no infection control precautions in place. Again, putting other patients at risk for possible exposure. I already felt nervous and anxious about the possibility of having covid-19, but after leaving that office with the experience mentioned above, I left there feeling like I was violated and put at an even greater risk of harm. read more

Let's just start off by saying this place could be 10x better by fixing minor issues. I was referred here, and when you are referred somewhere by someone you trust, you expect the place to be A1. This was less than satisfactory, but got the job done. The decorations/aesthetics of the place needs to be updated. Have something uplifting/calming for the patients that walk in. Trust me, this will make a world of a difference in the atmosphere. Maybe artwork, color, music... come on. The staff... whew. Uh, do you guys not like your jobs? I called the center before arriving to ask some questions, and all I received were one-word answers that did not help. She was also quick to rush me off of the phone. The medical assistant that worked with me was just there to do what she had to do and left. I mean, this is cool... but, smile a little bit. Maybe not for yourself, but do it for the patients you're working with. If they're in this place with something devastating, working with healthcare professionals like this is not going to help their spirits. Also, they must know the walls are thin. Don't talk about patients and their confident information in the hallway. Lord, Jesus. The staff need some patient-centered care training courses. This is horrible. However, Dr. Shacter is great. He greeted me with a huge smile and was good at conversation. He asked me how I did, and listened to everything I had to say. I'm happy I met him. Although, very good at easing my concerns, I can definitely tell he follows a traditional medical model, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. He is only in the center Thursday's and Friday's. WARNING: Do NOT visit this urgent care. Read ALL the negative reviews, first (most are accurate). This is the most unprofessional, careless, untrained staff I've ever interacted with. The doctor (and owner of this facility pictured sitting on the stairwell), refused to speak with me (after he prescribed me the incorrect medication) unless I paid to be seen by him again. I was told by the front desk attendant (who, sadly, has no experience--assuming she's very new and clearly hasn't been trained yet--not her fault) that they were "very busy", so unless I paid to see him again, Dr. Eric Fleber would not speak to me about prescribing me incorrect medication. She referred to an empty waiting room with staff laughing and lounging, and the doctor hanging out on the stairwell right behind the front desk as very busy". Not to mention the fact that she was just going to let me sit in the waiting room without saying anything. I had to pry just to get her to speak to the doctor. Wow! What a horrific experience. This facility doesn't even deserve one star. Do yourself a favor and go to Bethesda Immediate Care instead! The staff and doctors there are absolutely wonderful. In response Fleber's comment: I did not yell at the staff, but I was clearly very frustrated and voiced my opinion (which he could hear since he refused to even acknowledge me yet sat on the stairwell playing on his phone, as shown in the photo). I came to pick up the CORRECT written prescription only, per your request, not to pay to be seen by you again for something that YOU did wrong. Please explain what you consider a physical? You did not look at my symptoms or verify my vitals. You did all of this standing up (first in the hall) then in a cramped office with someone you say was a nurse practitioner. I just received notice of a claim to my insurance company for $280. My insurance covers most of it. However, I believe there was definitely not a professional checkup done or diagnosis given. How many more people do you charge $280 without any proper check up? You asked me "do you have a fever?" !! I agree with others that posted with regards to the rudeness of your staff and the state of your facilities. I will be filing a complaint with the Insurance company and discussing my options with legal. Thank you for your response but that is not what a response that comes from a DR's office that I have ever had experience with. read more

This practice clearly has no idea how insurance works. I did not even see the doctor. My insurance plan does not have a copay, since it is an 80/20 plan. Everything is supposed to go through my insurance, since due to the nature of the plan, we won't know exactly how much it will cover. That is how it typically works not only with urgent care, but also with any sort of visit. When I explained this to the receptionist, she was extremely confused and did not seem to understand. She then continued to insist I owed a $120 copay up front. Sure enough, I took my business elsewhere. I did not have the same issue at this other location at all. In response to the comment left on my review, I know how my insurance works. Thank you. My insurance has no copay. It is only your practice that seems to not understand how my insurance works, seeing as though I have never had this issue elsewhere. So it is interesting that you claim it is coming from my insurance. Additionally, receiving a refund in dispute does not make up for having to pay an inappropriate amount in the first place. read more

Strange visit at best. We went in the late evening on a Monday around 8 o'clock for our 8-year-old to be checked out after two days with a fever and other cold symptoms. (There was no school the next day so it was late but not terribly so for him.) The exam room was a bit dingy and unkempt, with some seemingly sterile trash like an instrument wrapper left on top of the garbage can instead of inside it. Nothing tragic, but still kind of a sloppy impression. More importantly when it comes to care, they ran a rapid strep test that was negative but still prescribed antibiotics based on a quick two or three second look in the patient's throat. All in all, probably the right decision and we were glad for the prescription. But even though the rapid strep test came back negative, they chose not to run the culture to get a more definitive results. Perhaps this is academic, but it seems like that is something that should be standard to confirm the diagnosis. read more

I heard that this place was good so I decided to go in due to a medical concern I had. I was told there's going to be blood work involved and despite my phobia of blood I agreed to it to get the best results. It's always been a struggle for nurses and such to find my veins and draw my blood but it never been this bad!!! They poked me 4 times in different spots and the pictures below are a few of my bruises and aftermath. I don't know anyone's name but the first two people (the one drawing the blood and the assistant) were having a hard time and the assistant had no clue what she was doing. I'm so disappointed to have visited such a poor quality clinic only because I had an urgent matter and I wanted to take care of it quickly. This was by far my worst experience. read more

Walked in and walked right out. Great service, they even handed me my prescription medicines - saving me a trip to the pharmacy. Friendly, efficient, no wait! LOVED IT! I will be back if I ever have another "urgent" matter, hopefully not but I do highly recommend this place! The receptionist was so warm and friendly. The doc was awesome. I also got a follow-up call from the doc to make sure I was feeling alright. Check your insurance what your coverage is up front so you're not surprised if you get a bill- they took my Tricare PPO, but as always I had a copay and a bill at the end sent to my home. The health care professionals here are friendly and courteous and you are taken care of in a reasonable amount of time! The extra charges beyond insurance coverage is affordable to! Needed to have a few stitches taken out that were put in at the ER a few days ago, so I stopped by in the early afternoon. There was nobody waiting, so I was taken care of immediately. They accepted Aetna insurance, gave me a receipt for the co-pay and immediately got to work. Within about 20 minutes of walking in the door and filling out the paperwork, I was good to go. Walked in to find a nice mom and daughter waiting ahead of us. I walked up to the desk and the woman said," i dont know if anyone is here as we have been waiting about 7-8 minutes. They were so polite that they didnt even ask for help. They were just quietly waiting. Not me. I called out loudly 3 times, " is anyone here?" Over about one minute. After the third time someone came downstairs and the woman stood up and took her turn. After a couple minutes, during a lull in their conversation i politely asked if they had an extra mask as my wife outside didnt have one. He interrupted me and abruptly said no. No, in a doctors office they dont have an extra mask? I went out and found a third mask and when it was our turn, my wife went up to him and asked if we could get a covid test for our son. He mumbled something and my wife said, I am sorry...." He glanced up and rudely said, "have a seat and we'll be with you soon." We waited a bit and then realized all three of us were uncomfortable as it seemed he was the only idiot there and i didnt want him any where near my son, so we left. In addition to the ratty looking building it looks like this place has slid downhill to the point it needs to go out of biz for good!! read more

I've seen Dr. Felber many times over the last at least 7 years. When I sliced my wrist on a mandoline, he got me stitched up right away. When my kid injured my foot, I was able to promptly get an x-ray. I've been in a few times for strep throat, similar small illnesses. I've been happy with Dr. Felber and his medical staff. Occasionally there has been someone at the front desk who was less-than-professional, and the decor isn't the best, but that's not a deal-breaker when the medical service has made my life easier. read more
