I can't praise Charles enough -- in fact there's probably a Yelp review from me dating back to 2021 when he came and replaced all the carpet in our house with engineered hardwood. We had been talking to him since 2018 but we delayed the installation due to the pandemic -- yet he still honored his original quote even though wood prices had skyrocketed during that time. I was working from home and wearing socks without shoes so I was slipping and sliding on the new flooring quite a lot. So we put some rugs down and the traction backing helped solve the problem but covered the beautiful pattern of the flooring. Earlier this year we rolled up all the carpets to get them cleaned and to do a thorough cleaning of the flooring. It was then that we found a huge dark stain hiding under the carpet. I immediately contacted Charles (I had never removed the speed-dial) and sent him a picture while asking if he was still in business and handling the Simi Valley area. He's still in business, still covering Simi, but now curates his own flooring selections instead of dealing the Naturally Aged Flooring product that his team laid down for us. Nevertheless, he said he would take a look and, if we happened to have any of the surplus flooring from the job his crew did for us, he would quote us a fair price. I had kept the surplus flooring, so I scheduled his next availability. When Charles arrived I was more than prepared to shell out $500 to $1000 to have Charles and his team repair or replace the 10' x 10' section of flooring that looked like a dark mold had slowly grown and eaten through wood beneath the carpet -- but I kept my mouth shut to see what kind of offer he would start with. Charles knelt by the damaged area, wiped a damp rag across a stained patch, and pronounced, "Looks like someone spilled coffee. Maybe the rug got cleaned but not underneath? Ya just gotta clean the floor." "That's it?!?" I was astounded. I was also quite relieved that the solution would cost me nothing. "That's all you need." He nodded as he stood up and headed for the door. "Do I owe you for the consult?" I asked as I followed him down the hall. "Nope." he smiled as he walked out, "Have a nice weekend." Alegro means 'glad' in Spanish, but Charles has and extra L in his name. I'm extra glad we found Charles and his team for our flooring replacement! He has gone the extra mile to earn and keep our business as well has to support his past installation work -- even for a product he no longer sells -- and has acted with integrity in a very competitive industry. I have recommended him to three neighbors and my wife has recommended him to her coworkers and a hairdresser. Consider this a recommendation to everyone! read more

Charlie was an absolute pleasure to work with from start to finish. From the very 1st phone call, he was kind, thorough, and able to answer all of my questions. He provided a quote that was competitive with all of the other hardwood providers and installers we received quotes from. He has a no BS kind of attitude which I appreciate, and he replied to all of my texts in a timely fashion. Nowadays, people in this industry rarely show up on time, if at all. Charlie arrived 5 minutes early for the look-see to provide his estimate. When we selected him for the job, he promised that he and his men would be here at 7:30 AM sharp to begin, and lo and behold, they arrived at 7:30 AM sharp. That is just huge considering how late & downright flaky people can be. From the moment they arrived, they got right to work. Charlie double checked to make sure that the hardwood he purchased and brought over was the correct size, color, and matched the rest of the wood in our home. He bought the correct wood & the perfect amount of it. When he got here, I realized that I'd forgotten to tell him about a minor issue with a different part of our hardwood floors, and he had his associate fix the problem right then and there. I was so grateful for that! His men were nice and consistently talked us through their process & what they'd be doing. When there were some unforeseen baseboard and glue moments, they came up with solutions right away to continue doing a great job and finish the job in time. They were careful moving our furniture, as well as creating a sealed perimeter so no dust or debris would get anywhere in or near our home. They did a clean, impeccable job. When all was said and done, they cleaned up everything after themselves and left our home without a trace of any construction having happened. They left us with the most beautiful hardwood floors and we couldn't be more pleased! Charlie kept his word about the timeframe it would take to finish the job, and his team delivered. He also stayed true to his estimate & his promise of not exceeding it, something that also doesn't happen often nowadays. People in this industry just love to add on last minute extras, but Charlie promised that if, for example, we'd need more concrete, he wouldn't charge us more than his estimate of how many bags they'd use. And they did end up using more concrete, but he did stuck to his word and didn't charge more. All in all, Charlie and his team were professional, hard-working, careful, detailed, clean, and most importantly, honest. I would highly recommend Charlie & Allegro Custom Floors for hardwood floor installation, and I'll definitely be sending the people I know their way! read more

Very professional and polite! They installed floors in two rooms and did an amazing job. They arrived right on time both days, which has not been our experience with other contractors we've worked with. I would recommend them 100% if you need flooring installed. Don't use this company ! The head worker is super good - but the rest of the crew that was sent are "fill in" guys from wherever ?? Cooks etc. The worst part of this dealing with this company is the owner - he does not follow thru on what he tells you the customer- versus what he tells his guys to complete. Sloppy finish work on the baseboards - no caulking used and he never sent in the correct amount of competent labor to complete the job correctly. They chipped my toilet bowl, messed up the kitchen stove - it was level and not it's not level lots of other issues to mention that seem minor BUT clearly indicate that lack of professional great work. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY - The owner does NOT stand by what he promises. Be ready for aggravation if you use this company read more

Would not recommend . Waited years to write this review but feel guilty not sharing my experience. Flooring was done by them 3 years ago however started lifting the whole bottom floor within 1.5 years. After finally getting them out to look at it they stated we had a leak which caused the issue. I believed them. Paid a Leak detector which came out and said .1% chance of a leak. Even he said more than likely as flooring job. We then had 3 flooring companies come out for quotes and they all stated the original's were laid incorrectly. The premium vinyl flooring was glued around the edges of our sliders which essentially created zero space for natural floor expansion with weather changes. When calling the company we were told there was a family event (and that the product itself was probably bad) and we would be called back. We never were. That was the last straw and we would rather use another company then attempt to have them make it "right" though the attempt was never made. We spent 10k having the bottom floor done over with another company (using the same flooring) and one year year later we have have zero issues. Clearly not a leak or product issue . Do not use these guys. No accountability. I have never left a bad review but with home buying and investing in these things it's a punch to the gut when it's not done the right way and you pay for it twice. read more

I tried for months to get the owner to come back to fix issues and to this day ... my stairs are falling apart and my floors are not stable, they creak even more and are overall not what we paid for. I've had to contact another contractor to fix issues. Very frustrating and disappointing. read more

My mother had her floors done a month ago by this genius. When he came to do the estimate he seemed high on something that should have been a big red flag! Needless to say it looks terrible there are gaps in the flooring and nails still showing in the base board. He has been unresponsive to resolving our issues for this whole month. Dont get work done from this scammer there are better options out there. I seriously wish there was an option for zero stars. read more
