This place exceeded our expectations. We stopped by for breakfast. My latte was perfect, the chorizo hash was good, my husband said his eggs Benedict was the best he's had, and the carrot cake was great. Our server was very pleasant and fluent in English. The desserts and pastries on display all looked amazing! I wish we would have found this place earlier in the trip so we could try more of them! We were just visiting and it totally surprised us. As tourists, we were walking around and we're about to go inside the bakery across the street to get a drink and pastries until an older lady (American) walked by. She seemed very experienced with the area and recommended that we go into Allegro for coffee/cakes, etc. We took her words for it. Great idea. Allegro didn't look highly decorated or fancy from the outside, but when you walk into the dark cafe room, it's actually more spacious than it appears. Plenty of available tables & chairs! Staff was friendly and they understand & speak English. Very great customer service at the counter. Good coffee & latte. We tried the carrot cake and banana cream pie. Very portions and delicious. Yes, this dark interior place with nothing fancy outside turned out to be a very relaxing stop with very clean restrooms. They had pretty much everything you would find at a local cafe. It reminded me of a mini Starbucks type place, but this one is better and more quiet. Low foot traffic. Plenty to choose from! They do serve main dishes: breakfast/lunch, etc. We will likely come back again in the future. Absolutely tourism friendly with great staffs working at the front counter. read more

This place looks super cute, and I bet that outside a pandemic I would enjoy eating there. However, because of COVID, I am only eating outdoors, and they unfortunately do not have any outside seating. The place across the street (Belisario) has similar food, and outside seating, and was awesome -- so if you are looking to dine outside, I recommend that. However, we did want to try Allegro, so we decided to do a to-go order. I tried calling in my order over the telephone for us to pick up, but had some language barrier problems. However, they do partner with Uber Eats for delivery (but unfortunately not pickup), so I figured I would just place my order there. We placed a large order for our whole group, for a brunch. Specialty coffee drinks, eggs benedict, omelets, crepes, and a 3-cheese bacon classic breakfast. Unfortunately, Uber failed us -- they couldn't find a driver -- so we just waited, and waited, and waited, while our food got colder. Finally we just went to the restaurant ourselves (it was just down the road, and we actually wanted to pick it up anyway); They got us our food and were very friendly. The food was good, but not great. The hollandaise sauce was a bit bland, so I would skip the benedicts. The specialty coffee was fine but not the best I've had. Probably our favorite was the 3 cheese bacon omelet, which had a lot of flavor. I am not opposed to Allegro -- it looked like a cute interior with lots of pastries, and the staff were friendly. But with Belisario right across the street (whose food was *awesome*, and who had great outside seating and above-expected service), I just cannot recommend going to Allegro. read more

Over the last two days I've ordered from Allegro through Uber eats, the first time I ordered the delivery guy made several other stops and by the time I got my food and coffee it was cold. I only mention this because Uber didn't care and told me to contact Allegro directly. Now even though my food and coffee was cold it was the best meal I've had here in Mazatlán so far, it was so great I ordered from them again today. Amazing food and I'm anxious to try more. For some reason Uber does not give you a chance to rate Allegro and their food it only allows me to rate the delivery. Every other place I've ordered through Uber eats it lets me rate the restaurant just not this one. read more

We love going there but we arrived at 9:15pm and the signs says open until 11pm. The clerk instead of greeting us nicely she was telling us that they were closing and we had to order to go. This has now happened to us twice. She acted hostile to us and we wondered if the owner knows her employees are closing early? read more

While vacationing in the Mexican Riviera, my husband had a work emergency and desperately needed wifi, and he needed it fast and right away. Like a beacon on the dark sea, we saw a sign that said "free wifi" in the window at Allegro so we popped inside, grabbed a table, and ordered two espressos. After downing them, we started to get a bit worried because it was unclear if they use filtered water. Luckily neither of us had any tummy distress but we were scared for most of the day after we drank the coffee. I guess science dictates that the heat from the espresso machine would kill off anything bad, but you never know. The place was spotlessly clean, so that had to help. Because we were a-ok, Allegro easily earns my diarrhea-free seal of approval! Viva Mexico! read more

Nice relaxed place to stop for coffee and a quick bite downtown. We had panini and baguettes, didn't try the pastries, which also looked great. Comfortable ambience. By the way, the small unisex bathroom is very clean and tastefully decorated. Service was quicker than some of the other places to, in this town. read more

The food is very good the service tho, not so much, gone down in the last year. Be prepared to ask for things twice. The barristas need training, if you want something other than a latte you'll have to google it for them. This place could be awesome if they stepped up their game. The best breakfast I've had in Mexico, to be honest with you all I would've rated 5 stars if it wasn't for the terrible service. There's no greet when you walk in. Waiters don't check up on you. This is just common courtesy if you are a waiter and you walk by a table and they are done eating it won't hurt to ask if there's anything else you can do for them. But again the food was amazing I will be back just because of the food. But the service horrible. I feel like this place deserves a better staff than what it has. My waiter flipped her eyes to a customer because she was asking for an update on her food after 45min wait. Again common courtesy. Other than that go and try their food it's great. read more
