Imagine calling a grieving daughter to scold her while she's trying to arrange cremation services. Completely unnecessary, inappropriate, and honestly disgusting behavior for someone in this line of work. The owner was cold, passive-aggressive, defensive, and seemed more focused on being offended than being helpful. This business does not treat grieving families with care -- they treat them like an inconvenience. To make it even worse, my grandmother's remains were returned to us in a plain box, not an urn. No dignity, no sensitivity, no effort -- just a box. And if you think this is a one-time issue, take one look at the owner's responses to Yelp reviews. She consistently responds to honest feedback by personally attacking customers instead of taking accountability. She has absolutely no right to insult or make assumptions about people she doesn't even know. She has no idea who we are, what our family dynamic is, what our grieving process looked like, or what we were dealing with -- yet she speaks as if she does. That alone tells you everything you need to know about her professionalism. If you can't handle death services with compassion, maturity, and respect, you are in the wrong profession. I genuinely hope more families speak up and report this business, because no one deserves to be treated this way while mourning a loved one. Guess she just stuffed them in an envelope and threw them in the mail because now, 2 months later my family member has still not received the papers. And they were being sent in state. Should have taken 5 days at the most. So I finally instructed her to email the docs, which she did but we still don't have the ones that she supposedly sent by mail. She did not send them certified which I would think should have been done since the information is very confidential. When talking to her about this matter which I mentioned 3 times to she and the assistant...neither one seemed concerned at all. And why should she, it's not her private information that's out there floating around in mail heaven someplace. Debbie even told me I needed to go track down the envelope and my response was, " well how do you do that when all you did was stuff them in an envelope and throw it in the mailbox!" There's no tracking number. I have since then heard from 2 deed scammers that wanted me to pay for a copy of my new deed which in questioning Debbie's assistant, Emily, was told not to pay and oh, those are just scammers!! Then I've just noticed a new advertisement on tv that's spouting about protecting your property deed by buying their insurance...another scam? So would I use her again if the need arose...NEVER!!! And I believe I paid her good money for the few papers that she had to collect and get them to the county. Guess they charge big bucks for hourly service, and the service sucked. My original papers should have been sent certified mail and any professional person would have done that!

Historic cemetery [Whiskeytown CA]…read more While revisiting the Whiskeytown National Recreation Area we noticed this small cemetery that we hadn't notice last time we were here. This is a historical cemetery that had been, unfortunately, devastated by the Carr Fire in the July 2018 Northern California wildfire. The original signage, the wooden crosses and older fencing have been burned. The signage has been replaced by an aluminum metal sign erected by a sturdy wood. There is also a wooden sign attached to the metal gate with a hand carved "Whiskeytown Cemetery" on 2x4's. The park used to give tours to the cemetery from July to September Sunday evenings and learned about individuals and families who settled here during the Gold Rush. I'm not sure if they still offered this tour. The Whiskeytown day use pass is not required to visit Whiskeytown Cemetery. We drove past the Visitor Center about a mile and a half and made a left on Paige Bar Road and drove for another mile and a half... Whiskeytown Cemetery is located on the left. Review #3456
