The location is convenient and there are restrooms in the Agriculture Hall in case you need to go. I like to wear sneakers because of the grass. It is fun to grab something to eat from one of the vendors, sit at a table and enjoy the music and fellow market goers. When I go home we make a meal from the fresh food that we got. If you take an early boat over, we usually grab the 9:05 from Hyannis and that gives us plenty of time to walk through. Watch your step and footing. The roads are cobble stone and very hard, uneven and unforgiving. People tend to get a little pushy-shovey and the it's densely packed. Crafts, art, food stuff (honey, spices, etc.), and farm fresh vegetables grown on island when seasonable. It's great, but we've never bought any vegetables as we'd have to carry them all day. I have very fond memories of feeding my Halloween candy to the piggies year after year (per the suggestion of my father, smart dude that he was). I also remember the honor system, you could go into the barn during the dead of night and pick up some fresh milk and eggs, and just drop the cash into the jar on top of the fridge. This accessibility is KEY on an island where food is unavailable for purchase late night, and where the grocery stores close suspiciously early!

You can find it on the corner of Main and High School Road on the lawn of the First Baptist Church. It has maybe a dozen tents, close together so you can visit all of the vendors in a reasonable time. The market is only held on Wednesdays between 2:00 and 6:00. A really nice variety of friendly vendors sell local produce, specialty items, meats, breads and bakery goodies, honey, handmade soaps, etc. We picked up three amazing looking macaroons and a nice gift-pack of cookies.

Pro-tip: Do a full round before stopping to purchase anything because many of the farm-fresh vegetable and egg vendors have similar offerings and I regretted stopping at the first one I saw before checking others. We also grabbed some coffee (long line, but worth it) as well as the Narragansett Creamery stall for some of their award-winning yogurt. They also have cheese and other dairy products, so make sure this is a stop for your trip! Overall a great market in a large park with plenty of shady trees. We'll be back!

There were two bakery vendors, too, and they usually make doughnuts, in addition to their breads, but when I visited they didn't have any. There was also a soothing oils vendor--Thyme after Thyme--with scents to help heal and strengthen the body and spirit. This market is very centered on just produce, with some other types of goods to purchase, so unless you live in the area and want produce or fruit you may not find a lot. It's fun, however, to walk around and see the different vendors and what they offer. Each vendor was very nice and welcoming, and took time with me when I stopped by his or her tent. I purchased a soothing lavender scented oil from Thyme after Thyme, and a sizable jar of wildflower honey from a local farm. I tucked each into my "Rooted in Falmouth" tote bag, and perused the other vendors, taking in the smells and sights. Falmouth Farmers Market runs every Thursday from noon to 6pm throughout the summer, from late May to early October. It's definitely something to check out if you're looking for fresh produce and doughnuts if the vendors have them. Also be sure to check out the Falmouth Art Market up the street at the community center, which runs on the same day and time as this farmers market; it has a number of local vendors who sell jewelry, pottery, art prints, paintings, and more!! It's a fantastic two-stop market visit!! If only the two would join together in the Marine Park--that would be perfect!!
