    Lobster Roll
    Nicole D.

This place was so hyped up that we had to try it. Well, we now wish we went to Menemsha's instead. We got the lobster roll which was just blah. It was also tiny. It didnt really have any flavor. We also ordered the Chowder which was watery and had a ton of potatoes and not that many clams. The lobster Bisque was good even though it didnt really have that much Lobster in it. It was a very good buttery, soup with a hint of Lobster flavor and crumbles of Lobster meat. The sitting area overlooks the Harbor and that was beautiful. The fish in the inside case looked fresh. Prices are very high for what you get. Employees were very friendly. I would not recommend. You can find better Lobster Rolls and Chowder on Island than here.

They had the most amazing selection of seafood. They have the most delicious Menemsha oysters you can't find anywhere else. Service was a bit slow because it was so crowded. Would definitely go back though because they have the freshest seafood and best tasting and on the island.

5 stars for the fish market, -5 stars for the refrigerated lobster roll. I ordered 2 lobster rolls, paid for them and then was told they're in that refrigerator. Huh.. in a brain fog I took out 2 plastic wrapped lobster rolls. Why oh why didn't I go back and rescind my order! Not only was the roll soggy but the lobster meat was minced!

The freshest tasting oysters I have ever had!!!! We docked at the harbor and walked a few steps to Larsen's. We came back at the end of day to get a few more oysters before we sailed off, they were that good! The seating area to the side of the building is perfect for grabbing a quick bite. The whole place has quintessential New England coast vibes.

In most or all of their crab products they use a mixture of crab and imitation crab. Not a fan of imitation crab and seems unfitting to use such an ingredient in a dock area- especially without clarifying this is used . Their raw oysters and clams are what you come here for. The clam chowder was wonderful. The scenery is nice. Seems like a good market for locals for fresh seafood but for prepared is more mixed. The stuffed items use a lot of the stuffing and more is not always better. Ordering raw items is separate from other items. So make sure you do 2 pickups if doing so. There are no drink offerings here besides water but maybe they don't want to compete with the gas station next door that does offer a variety. If I was here again. I would totally try Menemsha Fish Market next door. They may not offer as much or have as big a name as Larsen's but I might enjoy my experience more.

Decided to have a seafood feast and picked up what turned up to be the most delicious meal: lobster, steamed little necks, steamed muscles, Katama oysters. Everything was clearly fresh and steamed to perfection.

This place is a classic! Great fish market, awesome oysters and lobsters. Folks are kind and you got a beach close by. Good service, must visit on the island.

This place is super popular and seems to be the place to go in Menemsha. I like the stuffed scallop the best with huge chunks of scallop. Then the stuffed qualog or clam..which had bits of clam inside. Then the lobster Mac and cheese which I prob have better in the Bay Area and lately the lobster bisque which was more like a butter soup base and some pieces of lobster. Although the food prob wasn't my most favorite, I appreciated the small town vibe the hard workers and supporting the local markets. Tons of people were having the steamed whole lobster..so maybe I would try that next time or the raw oysters.

Located in Menemsha Bay on the Vineyard, Larsens fish market speaks for itself. For fresh local seafood this is the place. Why were we here? One word, OYSTAHs (oysters) lol. All fresh seafood is at Market price or they have special for oysters, usually dozen for $30. We had half dozen of Katana Bays and Menemsha Spearpoint oysters, both were great but I did prefer Spearpoint. They were so good we decided to order another dozen, this time just Spearpoint. Wife was REALLY HAPPY .

AMAZING raw bar. Got a dozen raw cherrystone clams for $21 and they were amazing - some of the best I have ever had. The steamed lobster was fresh and high quality lobster but over cooked. The lobster roll was a pathetic soggy piece of bread, but the lobster meat was good. No tables but there are a few wood blocks to sit on that you can use as tables. Wish they had wipes they could give you but otherwise enjoyed the tasty fresh seafood!

    Oysters and clams!

Anyone know if Larsen's is open this summer (June/July 2002? Their website says "open for the 2018 season".

Yes. Social distancing protocols in place, but open for the 2020 season.

There were two staff members and Stanley Larsen, owner of Menemsha Fish Market, taking orders when our group walked in. Everyone was very friendly. I ordered a cup of the New England Clam Chowder ($6.25), Crab Cake Sandwich ($13.55), a hot stuffed quahog ($5.75), and a coke ($2.00). On the counter, there were samples of the New England Clam Chowder and Lobster Bisque. They were both very good. The New England Clam Chowder was creamy like how I liked it and it had a good amount of potatoes and clams. I really enjoyed the Crab Cake Sandwich and stuffed quahog. The Crab Cake was stuffed and a good size. The quahog was buttery and had a good amount of stuffing. There are a few tables next to the fish market to enjoy your food. Later on, the owner shared his story of catching a great white shark in 1983 while swordfishing and showed us its jaws. If you are in the fishing village of Menemsha or Menemsha public beach, make sure you stop by Menemsha Fish Market. Restrooms are located adjacent to the parking lot in front of Menemsha Fish Market.

I stumbled across Edgartown Seafood Market on a whim, not craving anything in particular. I asked the guy behind the counter, "What are you known for?" Without hesitation, he said, "The bluefish spread." Let me tell you -- it hit the spot. Flavorful, fresh, and just salty enough to keep you coming back for more. We paired it with Wheat Thins and chips, and it instantly became a staple for us. Since that first visit, we've added their cole slaw and seaweed salad to our regular order -- both are fresh, crisp, and perfectly balanced. This is one of those places that makes you want to eat and shop like a local. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and you can tell they take pride in what they serve. If you're on the island, this is a must-stop spot. Whether you're picking up seafood to cook or grabbing ready-made bites, they make you feel like you've discovered a Vineyard insider's gem. Verdict: Bluefish spread is the move. Stock up -- you'll regret not getting more.

Hardy amount of lobster, perfectly cooked, and lightly dressed and topped with chive. I think they drizzle them in a lemon butter too. The bun was outstanding, buttered and then salted, the extra salt is a nice touch. Drooling writing this review and remembering how good they were. They were that good! Unfortunately, I was met with an absolutely atrocious attitude from the young lady who served me today. I asked for two whole filets of Arctic Char from the back cooler instead of the two in the front case. Why? Well, the real answer is that it doesn't matter why...I'm the customer paying nearly $60 for fish and if that's what I want, then the correct answer is a smile and a "no problem, let me go get that for you!" Instead, what I got was a look of utter contempt and an "I mean, what's the difference?" sarcastic reply with one palm raised up to emphasize just how ridiculous my request was. When she returned with the fish, I said "just FYI, all that should matter is that I'm the customer (paying top dollar for a premium product), maybe I'm just a bit OCD." Her response, again with that famous Gen-Z contempt, was "I mean, there's no difference, we just brought it (the fish in the case) out, but anyways, I got you your fish." She just didn't get it. The owner overheard everything and chimed in "all of our fish is fresh here, you don't need to worry about that." Yeah, I know that it's a good product, it's why I shop here, but if my unique brain feels better about having it brought out from the back cooler, why should that merit even a drop of bad attitude?! I told the owner, "I just shouldn't have to explain myself," he retorted "you didn't" and I told him "no, actually I did." So basically, I went in looking forward to a nice experience and left feeling really irritated. Sometimes when I'm passing through Westport, I stop by Westport Lobster Company. I always ask for my fish from the back...and all that I ever get is a smile and a "sure, no problem, let me get that for you." I prefer to spend money in my own town, but I'm not going back to this place and neither is my wife...We don't need to be rewarding rudeness with our hard-earned dollars.
