I'm really confused who is writing positive reviews, maybe people who has better insurance! Because from my personal experience I've been treated not as nicely as reviews say. The overall experience at the doctor office was alright, but the staff who works there probably weren't interested in helping. Doctor was very nice and helpful. But the staff... To get a prescription it's was a total nightmare for me. The receptionist was telling me that she sent the prescription several times , but my pharmacy never received anything and they had to call several times to request it. Long story short eventually I have to request the actual prescription so I can do it myself. I was in pain for a week in a half. Also, doctor said I need to get colonoscopy and that I need to schedule it myself by emailing the doctor or she maybe will contact me myself. I emailed several times to the email that receptionist provided me, no response, I called left two messages , haven't received a call back. I called again a day ago and finally spoke with her. She advised that email is no longer valid ‍ Also she has a waitlist going on and if I don't have cancer it might be take a month or longer during Covid situations , which is understandable. But turn after linger conversation, I found out maybe it will be a week and she hasn't even requested an authorization yet. I asked her why and she said " well it's not urgent " I'm not sure what that means , but I'm in pain for few weeks already and can't even get a medicine either. While writing a review I received a call from receptionist if I want to be on a waitlist for a procedure and if I received the prescription ( that I need to bring myself (9 times walking to a pharmacy)) She said she doesn't know what's been going on , but maybe it's an error on pharmacy end. From my personal experience worth CVS pharmacy in West Hollywood they were pretty amazing about receiving prescription from different doctors for me and never had issues. I think I would trust a pharmacy then a doctor's office. Because it was more errors on their end. Probably after this review they might remove me from a list , but I'm hopeful and hopefully they will keep on the list. I'm not sure if I want to go through this experience again, where staff doesn't really care about patients. read more

Misleading information provided by office staff. I waited for over a month for my appointment with Dr. Kamrava. Upon making the appointment, I provided my Blue Shield PPO insurance information to which I was advised they accepted and were in network. After making childcare arrangements and driving 1.5 hours for the appointment, I was provided new patient paperwork to fill out. The paperwork wanted me to initial in half dozen places that Dr. Kamrava is only in network for Blue Shield commercial plans, of which mine is not. When a surgical procedure is needed, it is critically important that the surgeon is in network, so I questioned the office staff. The lady behind the counter was dismissive & disdainful of my questions and advised that upon making the appointment, I should have been told they were not in network. Unfortunately, I was not informed. I don't not know what kind of doctor Dr. Kamrava is, but his office staff is sub-par and do not provide accurate or complete information. They also clearly donot value their patients time. I advise that any new patients should not trust their word over the phone but do their own homework regarding Dr. Kamravas' billing practices and accepted insurance networks. read more

I scheduled a consultation about my complex perianal horseshoe fistula with Dr. Kamrava because he was the only colorectal surgeon in CA that has a FiLaC laser. He was very empathetic and acknowledged the risk of incontinence from standard fistula surgeries. I was very impressed by his candor and honesty, and even though I was sold on the laser idea before my visit, I appreciate that he advised me he has discontinued using the laser for fistula due to low success rates with that method. I find him to be very ethical, personable and shows genuine interest in his patients having the best outcome. I was prepared to pay him out of pocket for the non-invasive laser procedure, but by the end of the consult he recommended that I see a surgeon covered by my insurance to save on costs. Although I didn't end up scheduling with him, he has continued to answer fistula surgery related questions as interview other surgeons. Dr Kamrava is a wizard. I had a surgery done for cosmetic purposes and I was able to resume my normal activities on the 3rd day after the procedure. I came to his office for a second opinion and I am beyond happy that I did! The other doctor told me that I will have to go through several surgeries and it will take me up to 6 months to heal. Dr Kamrava fixed me in 15 minutes in office. Can't not to mention his outstanding bedside manner, I don't think I ever had a better experience with any other doctor at all. While Dr. Allen Kamrava himself was great, I was unfortunately left in a stressful situation where I was told they accept Blue Shield PPO and ultimately it was out of network. I was left with thousands of dollars that I owed out of pocket. Ultimately I was able to get most of covered by insurance thanks to a one-time pass from them, but it took more than 10 hours being on customer service lines with the medical billing and insurance companies over the course of weeks. Those are 10 hours I will never get back and time is very precious to me. I would ask that he trains the front desk to be very careful about making sure patients know if it is within network or not - because to make mistakes like that can be detrimental to people's livelihood - especially if they have to pay out of pocket for thousands of dollars. read more

Here's the reality, Dr. Kamrava: You made a business decision to outsource the annoying billing work to an outside agency, and that reflects your values as a practice. I'm sure more often than not it works out all right, but for those of us for whom it doesn't, it's not just an inconvenience. You as an MD-MBA should know that your business decisions have consequences, and, yes, one of those consequences is that when a patient is burned by your billing company, it reflects badly on you and gets you a one-star review on Yelp. Let me just add as a bit of a post-script that scapegoating insurance companies is easy because they're terrible, but to suggest that you and your practice are blameless, methinks, misses the mark. Moreover, I contacted your office with questions and never ever heard from you. For those lucky enough to be able to afford a surgeon whose business doesn't give its patients the courtesy of letting them know they're no longer in-network, Dr. Kamrava is a great doctor and surgeon. Allen Kamrava violated ethical and medical privacy issues when he provided my confidential medical, identification and financial records without my permission. This was NOT AN OVERSIGHT! He did it after being repeatedly informed, verbally and in writing, that it was unlawful to produce my confidential records !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not sure how he got my prior review removed, but the facts are and were true: he broke the law when he provided my privileged, private records!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He was personally aware and it wasn't just his employees that did this without his permission. Are you OK with a doctor disclosing your private, privileged records to unauthorized individuals? If so, my review won't matter to you other than the fact that he also failed and refused to biopsy the correct area and caused me significant unnecessary scarring. From the time you call to schedule the appointment it is obvious that the front desk staff is unusually friendly and highly competent (rare in L.A.). My visit was awesome! They got me in right away and Dr. Allen and his nurse are amazing. Went to Dr. Kamrava for my son who had a Pilonidal cyst. At the time, he was the only Doctor that offered laser treatment for Pilonidal Cysts. He was great at explaining our options and the benefits of using this laser treatment. Though we lived really far, we ultimately decided to move forward based on all the information that Dr. Kamrava provided us. The surgery went really well with a fast recovery and no follow up issues. I have been seeing Dr. Kamrava for quite some time now and can honestly say he is one of the best doctors I have had for a range of reasons. I originally found him when looking for somebody to treat my recurrent C. Diff colitis with a fecal transplant. He was recommended to me by my gastroenterologist. So I made the long trip to see a proctologist in Beverly Hills. He took the time to explain all of the different options that were available for my case without pressuring me into going down a particular path. It turned out that there was a far less complex way of dealing with my problem, which I only discovered thanks to his advice. After leaving his office, I did even more research and realized he is like a leader in the region, and maybe even country, for fecal transplants. Since my first experience was so positive, when I later had the misfortune to have hemorrhoids the trip down to Beverly Hills no longer made a difference, as I have complete faith in Dr. Kamrava. He took the time to answer all my questions and was extremely reassuring throughout the whole experience and recovery period. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for surgeon within the Beverly Hills area, it has been great to find such a good level of care that I can trust only has my health interests in mind. Dr. Kamrava saved my life. Twice. I know that we are on Yelp, the place where there ridiculous assertions ("Best milk in the history of time!" "Worst tire service ever!") are made by the second, but the above statement is wholly correct. I would not be here today without Dr. Kamrava's intervention, and I will be forever grateful and in his debt as a result. I won't go into too many details, but the first surgery was an emergency procedure and every other doctor wanted to remove my entire colon. Dr. Kamrava thought otherwise and not only saved my life but my colon. The second surgery came about a month later when a tiny section of my colon needed to be removed because it had become irreparably damaged and the surgery then became more complex, but Dr. Kamrava once again ensured that I came out not only alive but WELL, which is something I cannot underline enough (metaphorically underline, since Yelp doesn't allow real underlining). It wasn't just about surviving through the most traumatic experience of my life, Dr. Kamrava ensured that I would be able to live a full life afterward. In addition to being a brilliant doctor and gifted surgeon, he's also one of the most genuine and concerned people I have ever met. I have been suffering from hemorrhoids on and off for the past few years and have had many different doctors treat me over this period. Then I got forced into Obamacare which matched me to Dr. Allen Kamrava. Unbeknownst to me, this was a blessing in disguise. From my point of view, I can safely say that Dr. K has provided the best care I have experienced. He has great bedside manner and has taken a genuine interest in my concerns. I suffered from rectal bleeding for years as my hemorrhoids progressed to Stage 3 internal. It had gotten so bad that it would bleed before any BM. I was nervous about all the great reviews as I made my appointment to see Dr. Kamrava. I had thought my bleeding was so out of control that I needed surgery. All I can say was he was very methodical in his diagnosis and steered me away of surgery. He gave me several Phenol injections to shrink and sclerosed the inflamed hemorrhoids. The procedure was (ahem) uncomfortable but the result was amazing. After only one day, no more bleeding. It was a wonderful feeling! Thank you Dr. Kamrava and his staff for helping me. Update 4/2018: continue to be symptom free. Occasional hemorrhoid flare up but no bleeding which was my main reason for visiting Dr. Kamrava. I received a bill from his office for the procedure. Update: I can't express enough how Dr. Allen Kamrava, is one of the best colo-rectal, general surgeons in the United States. After he did my surgery, we had a nice, frank discussion about what was going on, and that my issue was chronic. I've seen other surgeons in the past for the same problem, and Kamrava, is the FIRST to ever take the time to explain to me why this happens and how we need to treat it. Further, since this is a chronic condition requiring surgical intervention, he didn't cut my post-op appointments off at one or two. Kamrava saw me weekly, that's right, weekly, to keep an eye on what was happening. I'm very grateful Allen did, because I did require further surgeries. He spoke to me like I was a friend or family member, not just another patient with a medical anomaly. There are few surgeons in this country who actually get to know there patients, and Allen Kamrava, MD, is one of these doctors! His office staff are lovely ladies and will go out of their way to help you. It's also nice his practice is on his own, that way, nobody will know your business when you go into see him. I had been having this issue around my lower back that I was terrified to check out for over 10 years. I found Dr.Kamrava's office online and after reading the great reviews, decided to give them a call. I got through right away and felt at ease with the initial phone convo. Scheduled an appt the following week at a time that worked for me. Huge plus. During the week I waited, I was so nervous. A million thoughts ran through my head as to how badly the issue I had been ignoring, had grown. Fast forward, we drove to the office and found parking nearby on the street (for free!) walked in and was greeted right away. In less than 5 minutes I met with the doctor and was so pleased. He was extremely nice, professional and his approach did not make me feel anxious at all. (Love that) After he actually listened to my issue and sat with me face to face. He explained in detail what he believes might be going on. Then afterwards he checked me out and it turned out that I was fine!! My "major" issue (in my head) that was nagging at me for years had healed on its own. I literally felt a million pounds lift off my shoulders. I was confronted with an uncomfortable situation that required an immediate resolution. After receiving a referral from my doctor, I contacted Dr. Kamrava and he was able to squeeze me in for a same day appointment. After evaluating me, Dr. Kamrava diagnosed me and provided me with a few options for treatment. Fortunately, I was able to resolve my issue without surgery for the time being and a dose of antibiotics did the trick for me. He also was very thorough and explained the pros and cons of each type of treatment and allowed me to make an informed decision rather than pushing me towards surgery. Throughout my experience with Dr. Kamrava he has been wonderful and has gone above and beyond what I would expect from a doctor. One of the best proctologists in the field. Went in as a walk in after being referred to him by my gastroenterologist for an acute case of thrombosed external hemorrhoids. Dr. Kamrava took the time first in his office to explain to me with charts exactly what my case is and different options I have, and what to expect.
