Good surgery but could have found the problem faster because now damage is permanent.

I appreciated how clearly she explained everything to my aunt and made sure she understood her options. The office was well-organized, and the staff was professional and friendly, which made the whole visit smooth from start to finish. It's not always easy to find a doctor who combines expertise with genuine care, but Dr. Goldfarb does exactly that. Overall, I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a skilled and compassionate specialist.

I would NOT recommend Dr Goldfarb for parathyroid surgery. She performed parathyroid surgery on my…read morefamily member and first of all blatantly lied after surgery about how many parathyroids she took out. Right after surgery she said they took one "and a little bit", then in the following days tells my family member 3 were taken out. She also failed to send my family member home taking calcium after the surgery (standard procedure at the best in the country Norman Parathryroid center in Tampa, we have a family member who had parathyroid surgery here). She waited for calcium to get low and have symptoms before treating rather than trying to prevent from going low in the first place. Since then we have had nothing but issues and almost a year later now my family member is suffering from hypoparathyroidism and having to take calcium everyday to prevent symptoms of low calcium, which the internet says this is usually a result of damage caused during surgery. I am convinced she is the cause of all of this. The said she had to dig around and go almost to the spine to find one and I think she damaged something causing the patient to now have a life long issue. The endocrinologist are now saying the parathyroid may never come back and my family member may have to be on calcium for the rest of their life (risking kidney stones) or medication which is a shot every day to manage the PTH levels. On top of that, Dr Goldfarb's surgery left a huge noticeable scar on the neck of the patient. We are now questioning whether the surgery was even necessary. Prior to this, there were no symptoms no issues besides slightly high calcium and slightly elevated PTH showing up on bloodwork and now it is a daily struggle to manage and no doctor in town seems to know what is going on. Dr Goldfarb was cocky and over confident and dismissive when questions were asked about difficulties with parathyroid surgeries. She was also not proactive in working with the endocrinologist to help with these issues. I would never send anyone to this surgeon and certainly would NEVER allow her to cut my neck open. People need to be aware that parathyroid surgery isn't as simple as doctors make it out to be. I just wish my family member would have gone to UCLA or even Norman Parathyroid Center in Tampa or maybe didn't really even need the surgery to begin with but...surgeons make money off of surgery, dont they?

Dr. Batal took the time to truly listen, set realistic expectations, and explain the process in a way that made me feel informed and confident in my decision. The level of care and communication before and after surgery truly stood out. They consistently checked in on me, made sure I was okay, and always took the time to answer my questions with patience and kindness. This office goes above and BEYOND to make you feel safe, heard, and cared for. The professionalism, compassion, and attention to detail made all the difference. Truly a 5-star experience. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Batal and his team to anyone considering cosmetic surgery.

I want to give a big thank you to the team at Align who are working so hard to ensure that trans people get the care they need. This is a tough job - fighting with insurance companies, hospitals, and all the other people who want to deny us care. Not a lot of people have been willing to go to bat for me in my journey, but Align certainly has. In particular, I want to shoutout Priscilla, the surgery coordinator/patient navigator for Dr. Mittermiller. Priscilla is on the front line dealing with the hospitals and surgery centers that are making it impossible to get surgery dates scheduled. If not for her, no dates would be scheduled at all. She has taken the time to speak with me and reassure me about the process and I know she is doing all she can for every patient. After speaking with Priscilla, I felt more assured that my surgery would happen than I had felt at any other point. Priscilla is a star and so are all the lovely people she works with. The team at Align have a tough job of delivering bad news to patients, but they are far more responsible for the good news patients receive, even if those patients don't know it. This is a team that truly cares about the trans community and, despite how tough the day-to-day might get, they never give up. I hope they see this review to know that they are very appreciated. If you want a team that is going to fight for you and your right to receive car, this is the place to go. Thank you to everyone on this wonderful team from a trans girl who couldn't do this without you!

I was admitted at the St Johns/Providence emergency room in Santa Monica that evening and was in the hospital for 10 days, fighting the bacteria infection and Sepsis. (blood infection) Dr Bilchik and the team were monitoring my vitals and continued to stress the importance of the process to get me strong in order to have surgery to remove the sigmoid intestine. Dr Bilchik would not operate until all my vitals and overall strength dramatically improved, as the stronger I was going into the surgery, the better the surgery and recovery would be. I am a former sub 4 minute miler, world class runner, university of Oregon hall of famer in Cross Country and had never been this sick in my life. An all new and scary experience. Being an active person and former athlete I was very impatient during this process but Dr Bilchik kept reassuring me to be patient as he had the plan and schedule to make me better. Dr Bilchik, did an amazing job in prepping me for the surgery , when the day came I was ready. The Robotic Sigmoid Surgery lasted just over 5 hours. I came out of surgery doing well. The rehab and recovery starts now. Once again, I want to thank Dr Bilchik, Dr Weiss, Dr Young and the entire team, including Erika, on the process, the prep on getting me ready for surgery, the successful surgery and getting me back to having a healthy life.
