We had a great experience with Dr. Barnajian. He performed a colectomy/colorectal resection with an ileostomy on my mother who is 92 years old with clogged artery issues, high blood pressure, and diabetes. The surgery was in March 2026, then he reversed the ileostomy early June. Everything went extremely well! He's an exceptional, highly skillful surgeon, I think definitely one of the best in this area with a great support team at Cedar Sinai Hospital. He's also very good at explaining everything and answering all your questions, and really accessible anytime if you need him. He'll answer calls direclty on his cell phone even when the day is over for him, really attentative and caring to his patients. On top that that, he's very nice and positive, has a big, bright, warm personality and attiude which we found comforting - we really loved working with him. He also has a great office team - administratively, scheduling, logistics - all that went very smoothly for us, they are very easy to communicate with and really worked hard to get the ideal surgery dates and times for us. Dr. Barnajian is really the most exceptional doctor and surgeon I have ever had the pleasure of working with. He is personable, knowledgeable, and a true expert in his field. I went misdiagnosed by another doctor for 2 years before seeing Dr. B, who properly diagnosed me at our first visit together. Just a week later, I was booked for surgery to finally correct my health issue. Colorectal surgery is no walk in the park, but Dr. B made it as seamless as possible. He took his time with me during each of my many follow ups, often spending 20-30 minutes after examining me just to make sure all my questions were answered. As someone who avoids going to the doctor at all costs, I can definitely say Dr. Barnajian is everything you hope a doctor to be and more. He is caring and compassionate, friendly yet professional at the same time, he explains everything thoroughly without using complicated terminology. I'll spare everyone the details of my condition but I developed a pilonidal cyst approximately 5 weeks after giving birth to my first child. I first went to a dermatologist who was unable to help me. I was absolutely miserable for a week already, constantly in tears from the pain, self conscious and embarrassed, tortured by the fact that I couldn't take care of my newborn. Finally I found Dr. Barnajian and was able to make an appointment within a day or two. I was nervous the day of the appointment; as always. But I was immediately impressed by Dr. Barnajian and knew I was in good hands. The procedure he performed was far from pleasant. I'm sure the entire office heard me screaming but he was patient with me and did an excellent job. Within a few days I was no longer in excruciating pain and was starting to feel like myself again. My 2 follow up appointments have been pleasant, Dr. Barnajians first question is always "how's the baby doing?". That really warms my heart because I know he's actually been listening to me. Knowing that I still need surgery to completely remove the cyst makes me very anxious but I'm confident that I'm receiving the best possible care. I'm so thankful for Dr. Barnajian. Dr. Barnajian saved my life and my well-being. There are no words to express my appreciation for him. I had been seeing a urologist for (over a year) what I thought was a urinary tract infection. She removed a cyst from my bladder and I continued on a series of antibiotics. I ended up in the emergency room which led to a three-week hospital stay. I met Dr. Barnajian on my second day in the hospital. He had ordered a series of tests and scans and consulted with me. He explained that I was Sepsis with Diverticulitis and Fistulas. He was confident and thorough in his treatment options explaining I would need several surgeries (3) over a period of several (9) months. His knowledge and skills are unmatched and he's gifted and highly trained in the Colorectal area. He performed all successful surgeries with the use of the minimally invasive Robotics' technology. This allowed less scaring; faster healing and my body is functioning perfectly. Dr. Barnajian is a professional, compassionate person with an excellent bedside manner. Miricale worker my *ss. This guy is totally incapable of compassion for patients, has very little experience when it comes to his so-called 'craft', and shuns people with Medi-Cal or sub-par insurance. He performed a reverse ostomy on me and within weeks it herniated to the size of a grapefruit. He declined to prescribe me anything for my pain after a few months of waiting for my correction surgery (which he was to do). After I had been such an annoyance to him/staff merely by asking him to refill my prescription, he calls me back to tell me to look elsewhere for the surgery that he botched. He's so pretentious that he claims to only perform procedures at 2 prominent hospitals. Both of which are extremely expensive. I asked him how many hernia surgeries he's done and he told me that it was a stupid question.Some of his administrative staff (Myra in particular) have very little capacity when it comes to integrity. They lie constantly. If you're looking for a pretentious, self righteous surgeon who may botch your surgery and then tell you to go somewhere else, he's your guy. Dr. Barnajian treated me for a fistula and was really helpful. My surgery was in the beginning of the year on January. Even though I took long to make my review I wanted to make sure I did it. Incase someone in need is reading this. After close to 2 years of suffering for the same fistula that other doctors thought it was Hemorrhoids, Dr. Barnajian turned my life around. We tried all kinds of forms to avoid surgery but surgery was needed. Fistula surgery is really painful to be honest. For the first 2 weeks he provides you with methods of making sure you have a speedy recovery and maintaining your stool soft. He prescribes medicine that actually helps you resist the pain. Dr. Barnajian is a great Surgeon. I had diverticulitis with complications. I was admitted to the hospital for emergency surgery when Dr. Barnajian was called in to complete the surgery. When he reviewed my CT scans he decided it was too dangerous to conduct the surgery as the lesion was in a difficult, hard to reach spot between my colon and my bladder. My surgery was postponed for nearly 3 months until things calmed down through antibiotics. During that time Dr. Barnajian kept in touch and kept me informed the entire time. He was patient and understanding, explaining every thing and answering all my questions with kindness and understanding. One of the easiest doctors to talk to you'll ever find. Plus he consulted with his associate Dr Nasseri, another great surgeon, on my case and when Dr. Barnajian wasn't available Dr. Nasseri was there with the same excellent bed side manner. After some research and recommendations, we found Dr. Barnajian after my husband got some bad news from a routine colonoscopy. The first appointment at Dr. Barnajian's office, Mayra was incredibly helpful and calming. Mayra also helped us get set up for surgery. She is fantastic to work with, It takes a special kind of person to ease your concerns and Mayra was that person for us. She was so responsive, kind, and helpful with all of our questions and quickly... walked us through the whole process. Kindness in these situations goes such a long way! The office staff were all extremely efficient but...... also every contact was kind and showed empathy. This facility has their stuff together! Dr. Barnajian was amazing!
