It was at least 85F in the dining area, and 90F in the small, dark women's bathroom. No fans were set up, no apologies were offered by the staff, who were all quite sweaty. Other patrons were also eating, no one seemed to mention it, but this made eating hot food items less appealing. Since all lettuce is currently suspected of being unclean, we avoided salads. We ordered a variety of items, and the food came at a reasonable pace. Service seemed a bit slow, but we only saw 2 staff, so perhaps they were busy? My husband found the food bland; I enjoyed my food alright. Mostly, I would like to try this place again when either the AC is working, or it's not the hottest week of the year.

The scone was unlike any I have had previously. Served warm it was moist and soft, not dry and not hard. The scone and Cortada are the best I can recall having at any coffee shop, including those in Kansas City, Chicago, St. Louis, Onyx Coffee in Northwest Arkansas, Little Rock Arkansas, Evocation Coffee in Amarillo TX, et all. The well-trained barista was friendly, knowledgeable, and did her best to prepare my Cortada just as I liked it. I usually forget to request a ceramic or glass for drinking coffee in the store, but she asked if that was my preference; extra points here! The layout, ambience, cleanliness, and variety of seating in the shop and outside were absolutely perfect. The four or 5 mile drive off the interstate to this coffee shop in an exceptionally small town was an unexpected find I am glad I didn't mess. I don't think you will be disappointed either.
