Seriously disappointed. Sorry yelp comrades, I must break with the crowd. No bueno. Was in there twice, carried away a bunch of color proofs the second time. At the time, I left a page size file to be printed later (10 on glossy stock). They insisted on giving me a quote. Fine. I had two days to get something printed for a show, and waited that day and half the next for a response. Nada. So I sent an e-mail (I was in yesterday, got this printed, left that file) to inquire about pricing. It was a nice e-mail too, not finger-pointy by any means. Also re-stated the e-mail address and left an additional phone number. Crickets. Nothing. I have a small business and it's critical to me to whom I give work, because I can't afford to make a second or third choice. Plus I want the (vendor, shop, whatever) to actually want the work and/or value the customer. Do I have the wrong haircut? Did i go full-Tourettes and suppress it away afterwards? Not sure why such a simple request couldn't be fielded but I had to scramble for Option B at the last minute, and was unable to do some things I needed for the show. Will not come back here. They were SO very busy that NO ONE in the shop could send an quick e-mail, text or a phone call? (See reply). Sorry, but it sounds like you decided to blow it off instead. read more

I started in the marketing department at International City Escrow, Inc. in Long Beach. The company has been around for a while and lost track of its fonts, logo colors, and we didn't have a png of the logo. The first time I contacted for help was to get our exact logo colors and fonts and the staff was so receptive and helpful when I had further questions (couldn't find one of the color codes I needed). I came to Allen Printing because I needed new business cards made and wanted something that would really stand out. After browsing through their samples both online and in store I knew they could help me create something that really popped. The front desk associate was really nice and helpful, I told her some of the things I liked from their previous designs and she helped me choose a style and special changes for my cards. I ended ordering skinny cards (1.5x3.5 inches instead of the standard 2x3.5) with spot UV on the logo (it makes it all shiny in the sun). They came out great and their graphic designer was super helpful in letting me know how I could improve my design for higher quality and a better overall feel. Quick turn-around time on job The Long: Came in with a Bridal Client. we had found some invitation she really liked online, but the only colors offered were truly terrible. We created our own version of the invites but in the colors of her wedding, and then set off to have them printed. I first went alone to a kinkos to get a demo test done. After nearly throwing a temper tantrum in the store because of the terrible service and their unwillingness to make four (literally FOUR) copies (because they were too busy- but not too busy to explain why they were too busy for twenty minutes...seriously?), I asked Kelly Paper for a referral to a quality printing company. They sent me to Allen. My bridal client and I went in, nervous, because the colors being printed weren't the same as they had been on the monitor. These guys were SOOOO nice and pulled out something that looked like a paintchip sampler youd pick up at a hardware store and literally went through the colors until the matched the swatches from the bridesmaids dresses. They proceeded to print out all the invites (and then cut them). The invites looked great and their service was impeccable. Better than all of that- they saved my client a grip of money! My plan- never EVER go into a kinkos again! PS: They also told me they could make my business cards for less than half of what I have been paying. Nice. read more

This is an overdue review but I just had to show Allen Printing some love. I was referred here by a friend after multiple places in Pasadena refused to print our invites. I was so frustrated because I didn't think our request was unusual. We wanted invites that were custom made to be printed on both sides on thick quality paper. We drove all the way out to Signal Hill after Jonade delightfully offered to do our invites. I was overjoyed but was ESTATIC after I saw how they had turned out. We had a custom animation on one side of the invite and Jonade's printer and paper actually brought the animation to life (the characters were popping out! Almost looked 3D!). If you're looking for somewhere to print quality work, it's worth the drive out from LA. They're knowledgable, friendly and priced well! Can't beat that. Wedding products! I cannot say enough about them. In LB which made approving test prints for our save the date and invitations easy. We did not use them for design (a family member did those for us), but in terms of printing within our budget they worked with me as much as I needed. Quality is amazing! They were also are great about looking at everything and not just printing what you send them. They found mistakes/odd things in our graphics and double checked with us and saved us $$$$ otherwise we would have had to re-print. Shout out to Monserrat and Karen!!. They printed our Save the Dates and pieces of our invitation. I did not buy the full invitation package through them. I bought the envelope and invitation pocket from somewhere else and AllenPrinting printed the specific pieces to go inside and worked with me on making the prints the custom size I needed for what I bought. read more
