We can't say enough great things about our experience with Captain Allen! We enjoyed a three-hour excursion where we went snorkeling at Egmont Key, explored the lighthouse and forts on the island and then finished with some tubing. Wow, it was such a fantastic experience for myself, my husband and our 8-year-old son. Captain Allen is super friendly and accommodating to make sure you have the best possible experience. We had a great afternoon on the water with Captain Allen! Most of us got up wakeboarding for the first time, and Allen was so good with instruction that my 76-yr-old mother decided to try and she actually stood up for a moment! after boarding we all went tubing, which was nice on the warm waters of the bay. I was a little worried become it was a windy day, but Allen found us a stretch of calm water, and it was perfect. He was very communicative prior to our outing. which was nice. What a fantastic business! I heard about Allen's Aquatic Adventures through a friend and decided to book a 4 hour wakeboarding and eggmont key excursion for my fiancé's birthday. The entire day was one for the books! We went with 6 people (the max) and 4 out of those 6 people wanted to wakeboard. During our time we were able to each try multiple attempts twice. While I only got up quick and fell over at best, the guys were pros by the end of the day. We then jetted over to eggmont to hang in the water and have a couple white claws. All in with tax, gas and tip the total came to $100/person which I would happily spend over and over again to have the kind of fun we had today! He did a great job coaching all of us, including our two sons ages 7 and 9, to get up on the wakeboards. Captain Allen was amazing! We took our family out on a sunset tour of the bridges right after Christmas. The weather was great & so much fun being on this new boat. The captain gave us excellent instructions on where to meet him and everything was timely. We started out on a beautiful evening and the sea fog came in. Other captains would've turned around and charged us still, but Captain Allen gave us the option. We stayed out in the fog and we had a mystical ride under the colored lights of the bridges. Great day out on the water with Captain Allen! We did the 6 hour trip and it was the perfect amount of time to do everything we wanted - time to hunt for shells on the island, go snorkeling at the submerged fort, and do some serious tubing, wake boarding, and kneeboarding! We had a wide range of ages in our group, from my 74 year old dad to my 10 year old nephew, and Capt Allen was fantastic throughout our whole experience - from helping make sure my dad got on the boat safely (he walks with a cane) to teaching the kids how to wakeboard and kneeboard. Do you want a fantastic adventure for a day? Allen's Aquatic Adventures offers knee,wake,skim and water boarding, water skiing and snorkeling. You can also go to Egmont Key or take a sunset cruise. His jet boat, a Yamaha, can seat six guests, has a wake boarding tower and a pretty awesome stereo system. Guests can bring their own food/drinks and he has anple room for clinet's coolers, snorkeling gear and boards. I had the opportunity to take a run out to Egmont Key and was quite impressed with how the boat ran and his professional demeanor. It was a lot of fun to say the least! Allen has his Captain's license and is very capable behind the wheel. He launches from Jungle Prada in St. Petersburg and does the water sports there in the inter-coastal waterway. Our trip to Egmont Key State Park was amazing. The island is several miles SSW of St. Petersburg. The beach is pristine and the island includes a bird sanctuary on the south end. The ruins of Fort Dade, which lay more to the north, offer a wonderful opportunity for exploration. Some of the fort is now submerged , creating natural reefs and offers a great place for snorkeling. The beach itself is a haven for shellers and swimmers. Upon returning from the island, we hit the inter-coastal, picking up Allen's two friends and proceeded to put on a fantastic show of wake skating and boarding.. These guys tore it up using the boat's wake! Really made it look easy! People interested should contact Allen as his prices vary for the various types of adventures. This was the highlight of our vacation. We went to Tampa to celebate my son's 17th Birthday and he wanted to do some water activites. I found Allen's Aquatic Adventures and couldn't pass up the deal. The price was right and it was just what I was looking for. We had a 9:30 appointment and he was there before we arrived. His boat is beautiful and we enjoyed the sounds of country music as we splashed away. Allen had a lot of patience with my children ages 17 and 23. Neither one of them have ever tried wake boarding or tubing and they absolutely loved it. If they could have done that the entire week they would have been satified. We felt very safe as we traveled across the beautiful waters. He has all up to date equipment and is very knowledgeable about the water. We were able to bring a cooler and snacks but we were so excited about the activities that we didn't even have time to enjoy the snacks. Captain Allen is awesome! Not only he did have extremely competitive rates for Charters in St pete, but he also knows what he's doing. Very skilled and versatile captain, 5 of us were able to get on a wakeboard multiple times within the first hour and thirty minutes. After that we had a great time tubing, then he brought us to Shell key where he anchored the boat himself and brought us to a family friendly sand bar. 10/10 would recommend Allen to anyone looking for a water sports, island hopping, sightseeing or Booz cruiz charter. A group of friends and I were in St. Petes and wanted to spend some time on the water. A quick Google search showed Allen's Aquatic Adventures as highly rated on TripAdvisor, so I called and left a voicemail for Allen about booking a trip the following morning. He quickly got back to me and we were able to set the entire thing up hassle-free. He texted me the location of his boat so we could easily find the dock the next morning. The entire process took all of 5 minutes -- I so appreciated his quick response time and making the trip work for us! There was a group of 8 of us and Allen was really accommodating about what we wanted to do. He suggested several ideas including snorkeling, walking on Egmont Island to collect seashells, and tubing. All of them sounded like fun, and for four hours, we got to play around! Allen joined in on the fun and was a great addition to the group! He was super patient with us and encouraged us to have fun. It felt like he was part of our group as he jumped in the water and snorkeled with us, or walked around the beach pointing out shells and different types of water life. For four hours, including a 20% tip, fuel, and tax, the total came out to be around $65-70 a person. You can't beat that!! We snorkeled (with modern full face masks) at the ruins of an old fort, did knee-boarding (for the first time), and finished up doing high-speed tubing (complete with epic airborne wipeouts). I read the other reviews here before we called him. There needs to be a 6th star because Allen runs a wonderful business. His prices are fair, he knows his boat inside out as well as the waters, and has a laid back manner which our kids instantly gravitated towards. We were in the area 5 days and our kids have not stopped raving about our day with him. Absolute highlight of the whole trip. Being serious.
