Noah came to inspect and gave me a quote for $1200 to fix it. I'll stick with the other guys on the next one! I should have expected this as I did the heavy lifting to source the product to begin with. Should have been the biggest red flag that they never did anything to earn my business and now are dismissive of me after they've been paid. Noah, has not called nor offered himself up to see for himself. Instead one of the crew. Which would be the same guy that wasn't around to oversee the work, never came back to see if the work was done or quality check said work. He basically showed up and dropped two guys off. We wanted to find a firm that was local, small (so we knew who we were working with), but also big enough that they were an established business, with a website, someone who answered the phone and would be around to help in the long run. After reading some reviews, we picked JD's Irrigation Services. To our delight, JD's Irrigation Services came just a few days later and had the entire system untangled and fixed in a day! They located several wire breaks (due to growing tree roots) and located all of our valve boxes in just a few hours. I had spent a few days prior to this trying to fix it myself (without success) and they had it all fixed within a day. In hindsight, I should have called them at the start and just let them fix it. In my case, they were masters with their locating equipment and were able to solve all of the electrical issues at very reasonable rates. They had everything they needed with them and were able to fix it all in a single visit.

Working with AAAA Renovations on a big project that involved our entire home was an absolute…read morenightmare. Richard was unorganized, uncommunicative, unprofessional, and worst of all, completely unapologetic and unwilling to own up to his own actions or mistakes. We recently bought a fixer upper that needed a huge facelift, and Richard promised us that we would be able to get to the end of this 100% satisfied with his team's work. We were really hopeful at the start of our project. After we paid our deposit, the team demo'd really quickly and kept everything neat and orderly. Things started going downhill when the pandemic hit and the stay at home order included home construction projects. Richard called us and begged us to pay an additional deposit to help him wait out the work hiatus. We agreed to, as we wanted to make sure that everyone in his team would still have a paycheck through turbulent times. We also directly covered costs that Richard conveniently forgot he was supposed to pay for per the contract (we had to remind him after the fact, as Richard initially treated the costs the same as material/labor costs that we paid for every week). The stop order on home construction was lifted approximately a week after it went into effect, and Richard told us that he wanted to start work again ASAP. After that, work on the home came to a standstill. Richard stopped communicating, showing up, and delivering much needed material and supplies to his team. We and others on his team had to take control of ordering and coordinating pick up of material and supplies, and had to constantly ask and re-ask for measurements, amounts needed, who would be available for pickup--all the things you think you're paying a contractor to manage. Richard even occasionally gave us wrong measurements, which led to some really stressful moments where we had to scramble for replacements when his team caught it after the fact (worst offender here was when he told us to order a 30" IKEA sink cabinet for the kitchen, and when it arrived and the space clearly needed a 36" cabinet, his guys still installed it...and then broke and tore the 30" cabinet apart once we were able to get the proper cabinet delivered). Because he wasn't paying attention, quality of work significantly decreased as well. The straw that broke our back was when he promised that our house would be move-in ready by end of May (after already begging us to shift our move-in date out by an additional week), and come the weekend of our move-in we discover from his team that Richard was MIA and went on vacation with his girlfriend...in the middle of a pandemic and in the midst of his team working crazy hours frantically trying to get all the work done that weekend, which they couldn't. His lack of communication even led one of his team members demanding that we pay him directly for that weekend of work, claiming that Richard was a liar (which we already knew) and that he would show us texts proving this if we paid him directly--it was a super awkward and uncomfortable experience. Richard's lack of care has reached all corners of our house, a few notable issues being the botched interior painting (I.e., poorly painted and patchy ceilings, new doors and trim that needed to be repainted at least THREE times because of bad work and no supervision, some walls that only received one coat of paint, and bubbling in all sorts of places); paint splatters all over our brand new LVP flooring; the fact that the shower fixtures in all three bathrooms were not caulked around; and our master bathroom wiring being improperly done despite being assured that a licensed electrician journeyman worked on everything. There is trash from the job and random tools that Richard left here that I think he has no intention of removing from our premises. We haven't heard anything from him since he promised to show up on June 8th around 10 AM to fix the painting issues, and after not showing up we officially terminated our contract. We also had to hire an actual electrician who's telling us that the previous job was botched and is advising us ask for our money back or pursue legal action. I think the only positive thing I can say is that his team is hardworking and tries their best to get the job done (kudos especially to Romero, Eugene, and Alex) despite having a boss who's totally checked out. TL;DR - if you want to work with a contractor on a big project who has their shit together, spare yourself the heartache and find someone else. If you just need painting, REALLY find someone else to do the work!!

It is really unfortunate that I have to come back and update my review. I have worked with Richard…read morea few times. I have previously been willing to put up with the process of working with Richard, because I was always satisfied with the end result once we got there. Unfortunately, after my experience during our last project, I can no longer work with him. On this last project, he did not pay his employees and subcontractors who are now harassing me for payment. He also did really poor work on this project, lied to me numerous times, was uncommunicative, and missed deadline after deadline. I had to hire someone else to fix his mistakes and finish a job that was past it's deadline. In response to his comment, the claim that the job was 90% done is laughable. It took a team of 3 people, 2 weeks of working overtime to finish. I did use a previous employee of his to finish the job. This employee quit working for Richard a month before because of Richard's lack of integrity. He wanted off of a sinking ship. I also gave him $9k, not $4k. I am fighting to get $5k back to pay the subs he didn't pay, but that hasn't happened yet. Please look at the last photo. Richard asked me for money to pay the plumber back in April. I didn't find out until July 1st, when the plumber came to me looking for money, that he never did. Just to be clear, here's a list of things that weren't finished when we were 2 days past the project deadline and I took Richard off the job (from a message I sent him) The kitchen needs trim work. The countertop needs to be sanded- there are green stains all over it from the grout. A lot of caulking needs to happen. The waterfall has to be cut and installed. The electrical plates need to be installed. The kitchen shelves and lighting need to be built and installed and poly'ed. The garbage disposal needs to be installed. The kitchen sink needs to be installed. The backsplash needs to be re-done- the grout was mixed improperly and was not done to specs. The toe kick needs to be installed. The missing drawers from the kitchen need to be installed. The drawer fronts and hardware need to be installed in the bathroom. The bathroom lights need to be installed. The shower hardware needs to be installed. The grout needs to be done in the shower, along with replacing the chipped tiles. None of the trim work in the space has been painted. There are still quite a few spots of drywall repair that have not been painted. The closet needs to be painted and the shelving re-installed. The flooring on the platform needs to be finished. A drawer needs to be built and installed. The pull out bed needs to be re-worked because it is not square. The baseboards have to be installed and painted. The job site is a mess and needs to be cleaned up. There's trash everywhere. Look at Jasmine F's review on here and check out his google review from Wes C. These were all the jobs that Richard worked on since the pandemic started and illustrate a pattern. Check out the photos to see the beautiful handmade custom tiles we had made. These tiles were given to Richard with a protective layer of tape on them. He was instructed not to take the tape off until grouting was done. He did not follow these instructions. We were left with the tedious work of removing the grout stains from the tile (so much stuck in the gold accents) and trying to repair the scratches on the tile. All the grout had to be removed and redone.
