I am being treated for allergy shots, and my husband for chronic sinus issues and asthma. We absolutely LOVE everyone there. The receptionist is so warm and friendly. She always greets me with a smile - she's like a ray of sunshine every time I walk in. The insurance specialists are so knowledgeable and have excellent follow up skills. Insurance is typically a pain, but they make it all a breeze! The nurses are so sweet and gentle. I get three shots every visits, and they make it so I don't feel a thing! They are hilarious to boot, and always get me laughing when I see them. And, it's no wonder why Dr. Klein was selected as one of Castle Connolly Medical's top docs of 2017. He is a true expert of his craft. He does not rush through your visit in order to see more patients. He is THOROUGH. He gives each and every patient the proper time and attention to adequately diagnose and treat the problem. He makes himself available after hours in case of emergency. He spent over 30 minutes talking to my husband after 9pm to discuss his results. Together, the staff create a wonderful experience for us. My husband and I are finding relief, and we owe it all to them! If you suffer from allergy or asthma symptoms, make an appointment right now! You won't be sorry you did.

Dr. Schemen is so incredibly thorough. His team is amazing. They are REALLY taking the time to educate patients here, which is also rare. Appointments might be long - because it's needed! Is having a 5 day patch test done exactly fun? No... but SIGN UP NOW if you have eczema or rashes! And guess what is less fun? Suffering for years, having multiple dermatologists do nothing but prescribe steroids, burning ointment or immunosuppressants when all you have to do is spend 5 days on a patch test, learn your allergens, and then avoid them and you're fine. I went to my derm who referred me and cried thanking her for referring me to Dr. Schemen because it was a MISERABLE time until they helped me. Of course, you might have a rash that's not due to a contact allergy - but so many are finding help here regardless, I think it's worth going. RUN... don't walk.

When I first started asking my friends, acquaintances & my own amazing allergist* who I should take my son to 99% of them named Rachel Story. This is probably why it took months to get an appointment with her, but it was so worth the wait. I didn't schedule nearly enough time to make it to my 9:30am appointment. By the time I found NorthShore & made my way thru the building it was 9:50am. Oops. I was worried they were going to tell us to come back in another few months, but fortunately were very understanding at the front desk. And minutes later we were with a nurse...and not long after that with Dr. Story herself. Dr Story's bedside manner was incredible. She was warm, personable and seems to really love kids, which is probably important if you're a pediatric allergist. Within minutes we were chatting about everything from kids to careers to all other random topics. She's someone I'd want to hang out with and another mom friend said the very same thing about her the next day. And yes, we talked a lot about my son's asthma and eczema too. Based on my call to the office I was ready to put him thru hours of allergy testing & was relieved when Dr. Story mentioned it wouldn't be necessary based on what she was seeing/hearing. Instead she provided me with a very detailed plan (and drugs of course) for how to handle his asthma and eczema in the future. I felt so much better after meeting w/ her and am no longer petrified of his next cold, which is likely to lead to an asthma episode. I also loved that she didn't rush our appointment and was more than happy to answer my billions of questions. Even my 21 month old seemed happy to be spending time at the Dr, which speaks for itself. If you have a kid with asthma or any type of allergy I highly recommend scheduling a visit. And do it soon since she seems to be one popular lady. * http://www.yelp.com/biz/baiju-malde-md-chicago?hrid=zOafWfknpBVuIcAywHVwLg

Yes, there are long waits to get an appointment, and yes, you have to trek to the North Shore (an hour long commute for us) but she is so absolutely worth it. I now have had all 3 of my kids have allergy tests, 2 with life threatening allergies, and one with asthma, and she has been resourceful, compassionate, kind and truly caring with each child. She clearly loves helping kids with allergies and asthma, and is knowledgeable about the latest developments in the field. I feel completely confident in having her lead the care for my children, and it's no surprise that she's so incredibly popular among the pediatric allergy set.

We've been seeing an allergist for many years that we absolutely love (shoutout to Dr. Story), but wanted to explore OIT after my son had a scary reaction to nuts while we were on vacation. And it seems like when it comes to OIT Dr. Detjen is the main show in town. We went in for an introductory appointment and I really liked Dr. Detjen and his entire team. We left armed with lots of different info, including an order to get a CT scan since he thought my son was getting way more colds than he should be at his age. The only thing I didn't like was that this office hasn't moved to an electronic paperwork system yet. While they seem to be ahead of the game when it comes to allergy related issues, they are about 10 years behind when it comes to administration. I thought the CT scan was BS, but have to admit it was one of the best things we've done for my son. The results showed that he had a bad sinus infection that wasn't clearing up. After 2 weeks of brutal antibiotics/steroids this past summer I've noticed quite the difference in both the frequency and length of his colds. The waitlist for OIT is a long one (and I fear this review may make it even longer). Our first step is to do a few challenges. It took several months to get in for challenge #1, but it was well worth the wait. The staff went out of their way to make sure he was comfortable and he mentioned sitting around for 4 hours eating snacks and playing on his ipad did make for an enjoyable afternoon. He passed this first challenge (and has been on the hunt for rocky road ice cream ever sense), but I have no doubt we will still have a great experience if he doesn't pass future challenges. We are headed back there in a week for a hazelnut challenge and my son is actually looking forward to it, although I think trying nutella is a big part of the reason why. We're just a few months into our journey with Dr. Detjen, but I'm already so impressed. His office is very conveniently located for us, but I can see why many people make a long drive to see him and his incredible staff.

Dr. Raviv, of Endeavor Health, is a dangerous physician that performs unneeded operations on…read morepatients for additional insurance money. I visited him in 2014, and all I needed was endoscopic sinus surgery (where the surgeon widens the sinus passages to create better drainage). However, when I was sedated, he threw in an unnecessary septoplasty that blocked airflow on the right side of my nose. For people reading this, I have included x-ray images of the inside of my nose, before and after my surgery with him (THE IMAGES CAN BE FOUND ON HIS YELP PROFILE. I can't post them here, as Endeavor has found a way to remove them). As you can see from these images, my nasal airway was equally open on both sides, before surgery, and the septoplasty didn't need to be done. By performing it, he essentially cut off airflow on the right side of my nose. He performed this unnecessary surgery to collect the additional insurance money. Furthermore, when I later contacted him, and told him that my breathing was worse, and I suspected it was a problem with my septum, he told me that he wouldn't be able to perform the revision septoplasty (make the septum the same alignment it was before surgery). Therefore, not only is he greedy, by performing unnecessary surgeries, but he is incompetent, for not being able to fix his mistakes. This unnecessary surgery has caused me to suffer for 12 years. Since I can't really breathe out of my nose, I don't sleep well at night. I am then exhausted all day, not able to function well, and there is nothing that can be done to fix it. I have lost friends, and jobs over the years, and I am not able to pursue some of the career goals that I wanted to when I was younger. The only reason I can't sue him is that my statute of limitations for medical malpractice has expired. Raviv is also a coward. As soon as I started talking about my negative experience online, instead of apologizing or trying to remedy the situation, Raviv hired a lawyer (who now, ironically, works as the head of Northshore Legal affairs). This lawyer sent me a cookie cutter "Cease and Desist", informing me that I would be "sued" if I didn't stop talking about my experience. That was 8 years ago, and I didn't stop. When laywering up didn't work, Raviv went to the Northbrook Police Department, hoping they would scare me into not sharing my story. That was now 6 years ago, and I still haven't stopped. I am going to keep spreading the word until everyone connected to Endeavor knows about this. This doctor absolutely devastated my life, and the hospital did nothing about it. Please share this information with other people in the Chicagoland area.
