Omg!!! This place was soooooo good!! After some taste testing at a near by distillery, we needed something to soak it all up. This was definitely what we needed! The Philly was absolutely delicious. Definitely didn't skimp on the cheese whiz which is my fav part of a Philly (I know I know) the bread was fresh and soft which is great. Not having any knowledge of Alley Kat's history as a food truck, I had only my recent experience in Piney Flats to review. Apparently, they recently decided to open a store front here. Therefore, it was my decision to give them a try for lunch today. With it being new, the interior was sparse but very clean. You order at the counter and then wait on your food to be made. I chose to do take out. After perusing the menu on the wall, I chose a 6" Philly and waffle fries. This came to a total of $15.00 and change! The full size Philly was $15.00 alone. I then waited almost 20 minutes to get my order. Now, understand that they were not overly busy. In fact, when I arrived there were only a few people awaiting food. Everyone else was already served. (2 tables). They only have 6 tables. I finally got my order and left for home. Much to my dismay, the meal was not what I expected for the loooong wait and high price. My half Philly was about 4 inches long and I had barely a handful of fries. I don't understand how they could have been such a hit with their food truck with such paltry portions and long wait times. This is the most unprofessional establishment ever. They posted their hours on facebook yesterday and we thought we'd give them a try. It said 11-8 and we got here at 2 to find them closed with different hours on the door. I commented on their facebook post that they were not open as stated and they deleted my comment immediately, then deleted two more that i made. I was courteous at first and a simple apology would have gone a long way but they chose not to do that. Horrible customer service and we won't be back! read more

Food was amazing and just as expected. The disappointing part was we got two 6 inch cheesesteak subs, waffle fries with cheese and two drinks...the bill was almost $50 bucks, and was over with the tip. We didn't get a receipt to see if we were over charged, but it appears they are charging food truck prices for a restaurant. What I would pay at a festival a couple of times per year is not what I would pay ongoing for a restaurant. Sadly, we won't be back. Simply not worth the price. I don't expect them to be around that long in this economy. read more

Absolutely great philly cheesesteaks. The meat is super flavorful and so well cooked. We both tried the white American cheese and loved it. And the bbq cheese fries are a must. The service is awesome, super friendly. You'll get a lot of food for the price. Can't wait to go back to try more of the menu. 10/10 would recommend. Everything you ever wanted in cheesesteak, chicken cheesesteak, waffle fries, and wings. The meat and veggies are fresh. The service is quick. This is a food truck but they are at JRH Brewing always unless catering an event. I drive 30 minutes for this place. Worth it. But don't take my word for it, go for some of the same awesomeness. read more

I've been a fan of Alley Kats since they had the brick and mortar, years back. I was devastated upon hearing that they were closing. I'm so grateful they came back to sling some rocking food to the population of Johnson City. Everything on their menu is addictive. The philly cheesesteaks are the closet to authentic anywhere in the area. The buffalo chicken waffle fries....WOW. The location is very chill, they keep the truck outside of JRH Brewing. The guys are very down to earth and real. They aren't afraid to make connections with their customers. read more

Great sandwich spot! I used to go here in high school all the time and was sad when they closed the original spot. Happy to see they opened back up as a food truck! I'm not local anymore, but always make it a point to stop when I'm in town now. Add honey mustard to your sandwich, you won't regret it. read more
