Great food great customer service highly recommend this place is gonna become one of my regulars

As with any of my reviews, I go over the good and the bad with each establishment. Rendezvous International was easy to access and have good operating hours. The inside is vaguely reminiscent of a cafe and there is a sofa seating area with faux fireplace and large screen tv which was playing sports. There is a large display of sweets and treats as well as the person making the crepes. They have a large array of coffees, teas, and drinks. I believe I saw boba as well. The food menu is relatively simple but does have some unique offerings. We ordered the chicken crepé with a 1/2 salad and the Club sandwich with homemade chips. The crepe was light and had a nice texture. The sauce on the chicken was garlicy very tasty. The salad was an advocado salad and it was fresh with just lettuce, advocado, red onion, bell pepper, and cut cherry tomatoes. It came with ranch dressing. I asked for bleu cheese dressing but they did not have that as an option. I also attempted to order a coke but they only had Coke zero despite having a full Coke fountain machine within view. The club was fresh and the homemade chips were crispy according to my mother. I had the chai latte and it was very tasty, maybe slightly sweeter than my preference but very good. My mother enjoyed a regular latte. One young man was particularly helpful and patient with my mother, who has the onset of dementia, while she was deciding what coffee she wanted. Now lets talk about the things that left us a bit put off. This was our first time at the establishment so we went to the cashier, which was a young woman with long dark hair and glasses, she told us to take menus and then come back to the register and order. The was zero smiles or welcome or glad you're here to try our food. When I paid, there was an option for a tip, which I thought was ridiculous because so far I hadn't really received any service. We didn't receive any additional service either other than someone placing food on the table while we were ordering a coffee for my Mom. When the same girl dropped off food to the lady that sat behind us, she didn't say a word to her or ask her if she needed anything. So, I guess our experience with her was status quo. It was 32 degrees outside and it was also very cold inside. It may be because they were getting a delivery and the door kept being opened and closed. The music, where we sat in the back, was rather loud and was certainly not background ambiance. Lastly and concerning is the wiping of the tables. The tables were not being cleaned with a disinfectant between customers, they were using Pledge. I saw two tables "cleaned" in this fashion. I could not believe what i was seeing! This cannot be up to regulation. So, all in all, would I come here again? Maybe if I have a craving for a crepe. read more

Here is another place that I was told is a must check out. This place was very very pricey with their pastries. If you're going charge that much for a pastry then there should be some contrast with the flavors and textures. I got the chocolate peanut butter pastry and it was $16.46. Crust tasted like it was a chocolate ginger snap crust. The peanut butter part inside the crust and also the bear were the same, possibly peanut butter with cream cheese. It was OK but definitely was not worth the price. I handed the girl 21.46 and she was taking one dollar bills out.I asked if she could give me a five dollar bill instead of ones. She says she owes me $4.96. I said I gave you $21.46 that's a even five dollars. So maybe if the register doesn't tell you how much change should be given then the manager should probably have people at the register that know how to do basic math. read more

This is an excellent place to enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner! I visited for breakfast and was impressed by the menu options. I ordered the Santa Fe omelet platter along with a large Americano. The portions were generous, and I had the choice between fruit or potatoes, as well as a selection of bread. When my food arrived, I could immediately tell that the ingredients were fresh. The omelet was delicious, and the fruit and baguette were great side options. The service staff were friendly and helpful; I ordered my coffee to go and the food to dine in, and it was no problem at all. Although I didn't try any lunch or dinner items, the menu appeared to have great selections for everyone. The restaurant also features a display case filled with beautiful pastries and gelato! It would be wonderful to stop by after dinner for dessert and an espresso. I hope to return soon! read more

Now THIS! is a great breakfast eatery! To bad I'm not in town long enough to try lunch, too. Food is fantastically fresh and tasty and the pastries are to die for. Nice layout/seating area and the music isn't blaring!! The service is friendly and efficient. I could easily drink enough of their coffee to get the shakes. If you want to taste a little heaven on earth then please try this place! So delicious! I had the mixed berries crepes, with blackberries, blueberries and strawberries filled with creamy goodness and homemade fresh whipped topping, glazed with strawberry and chocolate drizzle. I also had the mocha latte, hot and served in a mug. The restaurant is very clean inside and out. I chose the patio today because it was cool outside. Staff were nice and professional. Prices are reasonable. I highly recommend. Lots of menu options. read more

A wonderful variety of food and amazing coffee, plus friendly service and a great atmosphere!

We got to try their almond and pistachio gelato, very well made, smooth silky taste and beautiful presentation (cute little sideways spoons). Also, a cold Thai tea matcha latte, delicious and with a seal lid very convenient and spill-proof seal instead of a plastic lid (genius). The restaurant style cafe is intimate, layback, relaxing and inviting. Great choice of decor and furnishings. The service was nice as well, their staff are very attentive, courteous and polite, but particularly very attentive to their customers needing something and providing it before they ask for it (feeding utensils). We didn't get to eat food per se but we saw few plates on the other tables and they looked yummy. read more

I hope this one lasts! Rendezvous lives up to its name as an international cafe. With a great variety of coffee, lunch options from all around the world, a welcoming interior, and friendly staff, this place sets a high bar at a reasonable price. I was particularly happy with the iced Spanish latte and Mediterranean dense bean salad. My couple of light suggestions to make it even better: 1) I would love to see the pricing for half serving and full serving salads on the menu. The half serving was an option at the time of ordering, but I could not find this option on the menu. The salad portions are worth the price either way, but I would love to see both prices up front. 2) I personally love cafes that you can linger in for hours to study, read, or socialize (aka third places). I would love to see this place embrace that idea by adding more comfortable seating near the edges of the room near outlets. read more

Dinner | $50-60 Bought a blueberry muffin and took it home. This was the second dessert that was no good. I decided to complain about this blueberry muffin and I was put on the phone with the owner Mustafa. He had no problem taking care of the problem and said when I come in to tell them I could have whatever I wanted. I did want the blueberry muffin replaced but they didn't have any so I said I wanted a different dessert and they wouldn't give it to me. Another problem is with their burnt potatoes. Their chips are burnt cold and greasy. Someone there had the nerve to try and charge me for the replaced potatoes, They were also burned by the way. The omelette that I got was very scorched to the point of burnt. I had a burnt taste in my mouth until I could brush my teeth. The owner Mustafa was very kind and willing to take care of the problem however his staff is rude and obnoxious. They did not take care of the problem. And as far as I'm concerned they owe me two desserts although I don't want the desserts anymore I want my refund for them. The first dessert that I brought home was nasty They said it was cheesecake but it was very dry on the top whatever that was It was really nasty we couldn't eat it I would never buy that it's got a round top on it avoid that at all cost. That thing was $13x2, The muffin was $5. Yeah I think I want a refund and I'm done with the rude people at rendezvous. At least until maybe Mustafa can hire a new cook that doesn't burn everything and other staff that are not so rude and obnoxious. read more

Love this place so much!!! Their sweets and coffee are to DIE FOR. I can't imagine this place having anything bad tasting on their menu. Also had to pleasure of London helping me out she appears to be the only girl working there and she is KILLING IT. I would go to this restaurant for a quick coffee grab before work or a fun study date with my peers. This is a must try if you want to visit Johnson City. read more

Was excited to give this place a try, due to all the positive reviews. Came in this evening and I was the only person in there. One of the employees was sitting on a chair by the televisions drinking a beverage. I assume he was on break, but he gave me a stare and nothing more... I stood there feeling awkward and he wouldn't say a word to me. No welcome in, no greeting, I guess not his job or concern if someone is waiting for minutes. I went to turn around and leave. He then got up, walked past me, and started yelling for someone to take care of me, walked past me again, and sat in his chair. The girl who took my order was very sweet and polite. The gentleman who left me standing there without acknowledging me should probably go sit somewhere else on his break if he doesn't want to interact with the people who are paying money to eat there. It takes two seconds to say "hi how are you?" Or "someone will be with you in a moment." Ignoring someone is just as rude as being verbally rude. He made me very uncomfortable. My beverage was good. I wish my experience had been better, as I work at one of the facilities within walking distance from this cafe, and wanted to be able to give fully positive reviews to my guests. read more
