I received A+ care here, during a pandemic no less! Staff was super friendly and polite (shoutout…read moreto the ladies at the front desk and my physical therapist, Kirsten). Facility was extremely clean (staff wiped down equipment and tables in between uses). Appointments were staggered so there weren't as many people in the facility at one time. Staff and clients all wear masks. Thanks to Kirsten, I received stellar care and my injury significantly improved.

The initial therapists were very helpful in my progression, however, following a racial incident…read morethat caused me to be late and cost me $40, it seemed like they stopped giving a crap about professional professionalism after that. The front desk staff were very short and dismissive. To top it off, I bring in my service animal, not only a certified service animal through his previous handler but also I have my own service paperwork from my own doctors I got in April so he's 100000% a service animal. Always has been always will be. I bring him in once he does OK. the second time, I make a PUBLIC observation about how I see his behavior helping my physical therapy recovery, and--I acknowledge with both myself and out loud to the therapist--that I am not interested in having him be there while I'm there because I saw it as a distraction to myself. Additionally, before the session even started, the therapist had previously asked if he was a service animal and I had said he's absolutely a service animal. Following that observation, as I left that appointment, I also said in agreement one more time--"this is the last time that you guys will be seeing him. I think that this is my time for myself." So then a day or two later, my tooth is gone. I'm at the dentist office in the middle of an emergency dental surgery and this inane manager calls me and once again reiterates-- not only what you had already instructed the therapist to tell me at the beginning of the session that happened the days before, but also to reiterate, that he's not a service animal and that he should not be at the facility. & at this point it's flown past like a potential misunderstanding and it's just professionalism. You're an unprofessional institution. You are very aware of the communication that you have with your clients and you also are aware of what age you and I both are. I'm not a child and you are not my parent. if we have already agreed to something it is just that. So for you to call me in the middle of an emergency, and reiterate a point as though I'm a petulant child...you're unprofessional and just not a safe space for people to recover safely. I think that people who are in the business of physical recovery should be interested in promoting a safe space of uplifting energy, and frankly vulnerability and hope, and you're not safe. You don't feel safe. You don't feel like a place of anything other than judgment and like dismissiveness. To top it off as I'm ending my relationship with this location and trying to transfer to another location, the manager starts asking me questions regarding information that I've only ever told my therapist! It's insanely invasive and it's insanely disrespectful because you've now thrown back the information that I've said in safety to the person that's helping me in recover as a way to start a conversation aka trying to backtrack and mend the relationship. Ha! we're past that now. I have no interest in recommending this facility to anybody. I honestly think that you should do your due diligence and research before coming to this institution, particularly this location. I think that this should be a lesson to their facility as a whole in professionalism. Professionalism is not a choice. It is the business that you are in and you are in a very specific spot where vulnerability is non negotiable. You have power over people that are in their lowest moments and depending on you for safety, so you should probably think about that the next time this location is advertises that it is professional and supportive, because you're not.

I am also grateful to Brinna Heise and Rowan Cummings, who direct exercises specialised to care. The atmosphere at the Springfield clinic is encouraging, lighthearted and supportive. I highly recommend them as a terrific rehabilitative team.

For background, I had three previous knee surgeries on the same knee, over many years. I never had the benefit of this level of PT expertise during previous surgery recoveries. The PT staff are exceptional. They displayed caring and professionalism at each visit. I could was walking with a walker the first day at Jackson Clinic, three days post-surgery. The walker was gone, and I was walking without a cane in short order. I rapidly progressed under their professional guidance. They frequently checked on how I felt from a pain and endurance perspective. They didn't push too hard, but you do have to push yourself. They offered daily encouragement and increased my exercises and stretching commensurate with my abilities and pain level. They were spot on when determining when to increase the level of exercise activity. The facility and equipment were clean and well maintained. I "graduated" yesterday after seventy-one PT sessions over a period of 6 months. I can easily walk 2+ miles without pain in my surgery knee. After PT rehab my surgical leg measured 10% above the average strength for my age. I have regained the majority of my range of motion, and expect additional range to be gained over the next 6 months. A special thanks to Madalyn, Emme, Brenna, Cassie, Sara, Colin, Rowhan, Tracy, Sara, Kiara, Katie, Jordan and the front desk staff. They all worked together as a team, to assure my success. They were amazing. I hope I don't have a PT need again, but if I do, I know where to go. I recommend The Jackson Clinic with no reservation.

The Therapists are a mixed bag. I got one very immature young man, who did not do proper assessment and never checked my chart and expected me to do difficult exercises on first day. I want stability with the days, and therapist. I tried to schedule October, they again spaced my therapy and pouty about giving me one therapist's. I have been here several times now and have worked with all the therapists so I am more then ready…read moreto share my wonderful experience at this location. I had a 2-level cervical spinal fusion with rare complications, so I am very special to say the least, lol. First off, let me start by saying I am already familiar with Inova Physical Therapy because my son had to have PT for a pulled hamstring, and we used the Fairfax/Prosperity location. The PTs were great with him and he especially really liked Josh, but the office manager was consistently so rude to clients & staff that it was enough to make me not want to go back there ever again, even though it is a bigger facility (side-note: she's so awful that she is negatively referenced in their location's reviews several times)! Now for the awesome Annandale location: This is my first experience with the Annandale location and I absolutely love it! The facility is clean, and being located inside the Audrey Moore Rec Center gives them the luxury of access to the gym as well as the swimming pool for aquatic therapy. There is plenty of parking and plenty to do; whether you're by yourself or someone comes with you. The actual PT room itself is very intimate & there are never more than 2 clients overlapping at a time. I have had the pleasure of doing my PT with Vanessa, Katie, and Spencer, all of whom are wonderful. Vanessa did my initial evaluation and could not have been any sweeter; Katie is extremely knowledgeable in the different modalities of therapy & Spencer is highly trained to do dry-needling. All three of them are genuinely so kind, caring, and considerate. They really take their time to get to know you, your situation, and your specific needs. They tailor everything they do, every step of the way and constantly modify to ensure you're reaching your goals at a comfortable, pain-free pace. From beginning to end, they are very thorough and clearly explain everything to you, giving you an understanding of what's going on and how it will affect your body and its healing. I could not be more pleased with my progress so far and am always happy to go see them. I really feel so good when I leave; both mentally & physically. If you need PT or are in anyway apprehensive about PT, look no further, this is most definitely the place to go!

This time I stayed within the Inova system and looked for five stars among the Inova PT centers on Yelp. Inova PT Annandale was the only one with five stars. It is a very small facility but the staff is well equipped, educated, professional, respectful, with a great sense of humor. Spencer and Katie encourage their patients while learning PT. Dominique is always welcoming and helps with scheduling, insurance, and payments. I appreciate receiving a personal home program from the therapists at each visit. After ten visits twice a week, Spencer believes I am doing well enough to just come once a week and continue with the home program.

After three sessions there to try to treat a shoulder/neck injury, I had not been given any dry needling that I asked for and felt that I was simply being rushed, as my therapist was always trying to move to his next appointment. In one hour with Matt, he found muscles in my shoulder that I didn't even realize were causing me problems and he FIXED THEM. It was literally amazing. By the end of the hour, I had already restored almost the full range of motion of my neck and head. It felt like 3 hours, but it was just an hour to diagnose, treat, and to give me stretches to do at home to prevent soreness. Worth every penny.
