But to start: He genuinely cares about his patients. Not just the one on one care for PT, but as you as a person! I get to spend an hour with him and have really good conversation along with getting excellent care. He is very "hands on" which I appreciate. He listens to your concerns. And he goes hands-on whether it be massage or be cupping. And then gives you exercises and make sure you don't leave until you understand what you have to do. I even convinced my own wife to give Jordan a try as her PT and she truly understood what I was talking about. The front office staff is always helpful and polite Every time I call she picks up immediately and it's very helpful. They take my type of insurance which would be a dealbreaker if they did not accept Blue Cross Blue Shield. Every appointment with Dr Jordan, I leave feeling heard, encouraged, and like real progress is being made. I had a 2-level cervical spinal fusion with rare complications, so I am very special to say the least, lol. First off, let me start by saying I am already familiar with Inova Physical Therapy because my son had to have PT for a pulled hamstring, and we used the Fairfax/Prosperity location. The PTs were great with him and he especially really liked Josh, but the office manager was consistently so rude to clients & staff that it was enough to make me not want to go back there ever again, even though it is a bigger facility (side-note: she's so awful that she is negatively referenced in their location's reviews several times)! Now for the awesome Annandale location: This is my first experience with the Annandale location and I absolutely love it! The facility is clean, and being located inside the Audrey Moore Rec Center gives them the luxury of access to the gym as well as the swimming pool for aquatic therapy. There is plenty of parking and plenty to do; whether you're by yourself or someone comes with you. The actual PT room itself is very intimate & there are never more than 2 clients overlapping at a time. I have had the pleasure of doing my PT with Vanessa, Katie, and Spencer, all of whom are wonderful. Vanessa did my initial evaluation and could not have been any sweeter; Katie is extremely knowledgeable in the different modalities of therapy & Spencer is highly trained to do dry-needling. All three of them are genuinely so kind, caring, and considerate. They really take their time to get to know you, your situation, and your specific needs. They tailor everything they do, every step of the way and constantly modify to ensure you're reaching your goals at a comfortable, pain-free pace. From beginning to end, they are very thorough and clearly explain everything to you, giving you an understanding of what's going on and how it will affect your body and its healing. I could not be more pleased with my progress so far and am always happy to go see them. I really feel so good when I leave; both mentally & physically. If you need PT or are in anyway apprehensive about PT, look no further, this is most definitely the place to go!

This time I stayed within the Inova system and looked for five stars among the Inova PT centers on Yelp. Inova PT Annandale was the only one with five stars. It is a very small facility but the staff is well equipped, educated, professional, respectful, with a great sense of humor. Spencer and Katie encourage their patients while learning PT. Dominique is always welcoming and helps with scheduling, insurance, and payments. I appreciate receiving a personal home program from the therapists at each visit. After ten visits twice a week, Spencer believes I am doing well enough to just come once a week and continue with the home program.

Unlike the sole other reviewer, my experiences (have been there for two separate issues, shoulder…read morein 2008 and currently pre and post-back surgery) I've never had PT anywhere else so cannot compare. But two + months in '08 (w/ Jessica) solved my shoulder issues, and with work I was instructed to do after leaving, no further issues. Sent in July by my internist for very bad back pain, sessions seemed to help but only for short periods after surgery. After 10-12 sessions, Jessica suggested I stop, which disappointed me until she explained that I had limited visits remaining on my insurance, and she said lack of sufficient improvement from PT and other things from my MD that she felt surgery may be in my future, after which a neurosurgeon would likely suggest PT. Did make sense, so I said OK. Wasn't long after I saw a NS who showed me on my films why it wasn't working and surgery was indicated. I originally felt my satisfaction was as much with Jessica as with SPT, but once she was unavailable and I was set-up with Courtney. My skepticism was quickly shown to be unwarranted, as she was also quite good with a unique trick or two of her own. A few weeks later I ended up with Aaron, again, was skeptical but he is excellent. There is a fourth therapist also I have not used so have no comment. Everyone is quite nice and seems to be extremely knowledgeable. Maybe other places are as good or even better but that's hard for me to imagine.

The front desk staff were very short and dismissive. To top it off, I bring in my service animal, not only a certified service animal through his previous handler but also I have my own service paperwork from my own doctors I got in April so he's 100000% a service animal. Always has been always will be. I bring him in once he does OK. the second time, I make a PUBLIC observation about how I see his behavior helping my physical therapy recovery, and--I acknowledge with both myself and out loud to the therapist--that I am not interested in having him be there while I'm there because I saw it as a distraction to myself. Additionally, before the session even started, the therapist had previously asked if he was a service animal and I had said he's absolutely a service animal. Following that observation, as I left that appointment, I also said in agreement one more time--"this is the last time that you guys will be seeing him. I think that this is my time for myself." So then a day or two later, my tooth is gone. I'm at the dentist office in the middle of an emergency dental surgery and this inane manager calls me and once again reiterates-- not only what you had already instructed the therapist to tell me at the beginning of the session that happened the days before, but also to reiterate, that he's not a service animal and that he should not be at the facility. & at this point it's flown past like a potential misunderstanding and it's just professionalism. You're an unprofessional institution. You are very aware of the communication that you have with your clients and you also are aware of what age you and I both are. I'm not a child and you are not my parent. if we have already agreed to something it is just that. So for you to call me in the middle of an emergency, and reiterate a point as though I'm a petulant child...you're unprofessional and just not a safe space for people to recover safely. I think that people who are in the business of physical recovery should be interested in promoting a safe space of uplifting energy, and frankly vulnerability and hope, and you're not safe. You don't feel safe. You don't feel like a place of anything other than judgment and like dismissiveness. To top it off as I'm ending my relationship with this location and trying to transfer to another location, the manager starts asking me questions regarding information that I've only ever told my therapist! It's insanely invasive and it's insanely disrespectful because you've now thrown back the information that I've said in safety to the person that's helping me in recover as a way to start a conversation aka trying to backtrack and mend the relationship. Ha! we're past that now. I have no interest in recommending this facility to anybody. I honestly think that you should do your due diligence and research before coming to this institution, particularly this location. I think that this should be a lesson to their facility as a whole in professionalism. Professionalism is not a choice. It is the business that you are in and you are in a very specific spot where vulnerability is non negotiable. You have power over people that are in their lowest moments and depending on you for safety, so you should probably think about that the next time this location is advertises that it is professional and supportive, because you're not.

Then, I was told that I would be charged $40 if I didn't cancel the day before. I recently lost my job and had to change insurance. I had to call and cancel my appointment a couple of weeks ago because I was in between insurance. I called the day before and I was told that the appointment would be cancelled without an issue. Then I got hit with a $40 fee. I called to ask why I was charged when I cancelled the day before. I was told that I had called just a few minutes less than 24 hours, so I was charged. When I told them that I was not told that was the case when I called to cancel and the person pretended like it was fine, I was told that there's nothing they can do about it. So, I cancelled all my appointments with them and stopped going. I'm going to go with a much better PT place in town and there are a lot of them. As customers, we have choices. I do not recommend this place at all.

Every therapist has been effective, some areas are taking more work. I'm writing today regarding the superb post-right shoulder replacement PT. My therapist is Libby Sudhoff, she is more physical than most, and will work at any discomfort to mitigate the pain. I've had 12 sessions with her and only a few more before she goes on to her next traveling PT assignment. I'm very grateful for the progress and reclaimed flexibility her work has done for me.

As an insurance accepting practice myself- that is NOT how it works. Small medical practice's (solo woman owned / mom and pop establishments etc like this one)- take a HUGE hit when accepting insurance contracts for their reimbursement. At this point many small business are getting paid HALF of what their cash only / self pay only counterparts are getting paid. Also- keep in mind, an insurance contract doesn't increase with inflation, cost of living, rising employer salaries etc.... I give the business lesson because it's only fair for people to be informed as to why a business structure is what it is for the sake of survival... Now on to the actual PRACTITIONERS- this staff is honestly saving people from surgeries, worsening conditions, and maladaptive body patterns... I've been working with them for 8-9 years and my mom now drives from VA to go to them as well. They're priceless in their cleanliness, knowledge, anatomy and functionality awareness plus FULL body attention. I've never heard of dry needling until coming here but it was exactly what I needed. I usually don't like getting poked but it's really not bad cuz the needles are super thin and don't go that deep (like a tad bit more than acupuncture). They have evening appointments so I had a reoccurring appointment every Tuesday & Thursday at 4:45 pm. Their office is located in an area of other office buildings and right off of Little River Turnpike on the 1st floor of the suite. I love how I never have to wait and usually they take me before my appt time, this is very important to me so I appreciate it! Dr. Timothy Yun is very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Dr. Yun took time to address my needs and provided me useful exercises and tools. I love how engaging and friendly the staff is! I appreciate the various conversations with the Doctor & staff made it very enjoyable experience. They also have another office located in Centreville, VA in which they are also open on Saturdays.
