They're okay for the size and location, but some of them just have a douche vibe. Had a guy hand me a gun and walked away from me, didn't really try and sell me on buying it or anything just handed me it and left. Another made me feel belittled for not knowing as much as he did. I first got introduced to Allied Arms when they were located at the corner of hwy 78 and college park road and they were very friendly and business like. Bought a couple of sub-compacts for concealed carry and Randy and I just hit it off like we had known each other for years. Fast forward to 2023 and went to their location off Trolley Rd and was very impressed with the setup of the business. Prices are very reasonable and the friendly service is still there. Dealt with ATP before and wasn't impressed with all of the young inexperienced sales people running around with guns on their side acting like they're important and their attitude was stink! Very small gun store with minimal selection of merchandise. Had a decent number of holster and magazines from a few manufacturers, but was slim in other areas. Maybe check ATP, which is nearby, if you're looking for a larger selection. Good selection of pistols, rifles and shotguns, especially for such a small store. Prices were high on most guns I viewed. They have some in the middle of the store where shoppers can freely handle them (I believe they were used), which is nice, but some were priced higher than new models. One shotgun in particular had $499 on it, but was recently priced $299 online at Palmetto State Armory (new). The guys working there seemed pleasant and asked if I needed help, although were a little crude talking to each other with customers present. It didn't bother me, but maybe not the best impression for some. read more

I've moved a bit inland, Allied Arms is not just within a close proximity, but the owner is a total gentleman. If you live in the area, you know who they are. I have been putting off this purchase b/c the thought of having to walk into either of those two shops and be made to feel like I had to beg them to take my hard earned money just made me cringe. A couple of things stood out during the processing of the transaction... 1. The transfer went very smooth and the two gentlemen working that evening were super polite and friendly. 2. While looking around I noticed that their ammo, accessory and pistol prices were lower than most small gun shops and even lower than some of the high volume big box stores. A local Gun Shop on Rt78 at College Park Road. Allied has a good selection of firearms in stock, and have competitive prices for the area. On the downside they do not have a good selection of the latest pocket size pistols in the .22, .380, or .32 calibers. However, they can order a firearm for you and will only charge a nominal agent fee for outside pick up orders. I personally ordered a classic cowboy style gun and used Allied as my agent. They had the firearm in 4 days, called me immediately, and only charged $25.00 for that transfer. The fees may be determined by whether or not Allied sells the originators products, but they want your business and do not over charge, causing them to have some of the lowest fees in the area. The owner and service representatives are very knowledgeable when it comes to different firearms, and how well a certain firearm will match a customers needs. It has always been a pleasure to shop at Allied. Allied only falls short in their in stock variety and styles on hand, and for this reason gets 4 out of 5 stars. When purchasing a firearm in the Charleston area you would do well by matching your price with Allies before making your final purchase. read more
