We called this company first thing in the morning and within 30 minutes they were here and fixing it. The men observed the proper social distancing regulations currently in place and even made the repair 'non contact' where we paid for the repair by having us call in our credit card number to their office, instead of handing them our credit card. Recently, I helped my elderly mother replace the garage door at her home. Unfortunately, the…read moreprocurement process was marked by repeated communication issues, missed callbacks, lost follow-ups, and general lack of coordination. Most of the issues occurred during the procurement phase, but on the day of installation one final communication failure erased my remaining confidence in their operation, resulting in an installation day that will not soon be forgotten. Because I was working during the installation, I planned to stop by afterward to inspect the work. On the morning of the installation a scheduling issue arose which, combined with the earlier procurement problems, eroded my remaining confidence in this installer. As a result, I asked my mother not to make the final payment until I could personally inspect the work later that afternoon. Shortly after installation finished, I received an angry call from the owner about the apparent delay in payment, ironically one of the few prompt calls I received during the two-month process. He seemed unaware of the series of issues that had led to my hesitation. While his tone softened somewhat once I explained the situation, he still insisted on immediate payment rather than waiting a few hours until the end of my workday. One statement stood out among the rest: "If I had known there were issues, I would have scheduled this completely differently." To me, this suggested that this contractor only adjusts their level of care after problems have already occurred, rather than proactively ensuring a smooth experience from the start. As a compromise, I asked them to send photos of the completed installation and we would pay immediately. The photos revealed a very obvious installation issue, confirming my hesitation to pay without inspection. After I pointed it out, the installer promptly called to say they were returning to correct it. At that point, with tensions rising and rework underway, I left work early to inspect the installation myself so I could complete payment and avoid escalating the situation further. In the end, we are happy with the finished door, though the process to get there was much shakier than expected. To Jim O'Connor's credit, he did call afterward to sincerely apologize and offer to make things right. Perhaps this was a one-off experience with an otherwise solid company. That said, based on this experience, I will likely consider other garage door companies the next time we need service. This caution is also reinforced by some questionable payment demands described by other customers in these reviews. Note: A week after writing my initial review, and after reflecting further on the timeline of events, I decided to lower my overall score and revise the review to reflect the experience more accurately. Initially I attempted to temper my comments to offset the frustration of the moment, but with time it has only become clearer to me that this installer has operational issues that many customers would be wise to avoid.

Right away he identified a number of issues not related to the broken spring which would shorten the life of the opener. He proceeded to undo the rats nest of steel cable the previous homeowner put up, installed the new springs, fixed a few other issues he saw, and even gave me a heads up on some future maintenance items I will need to do later. Jesse walked me through the scope of work upfront and we moved forward. The job wasn't simple -- the wall behind the shelves had herringbone tile. Jesse opened it up, installed proper backing so the shelves could be bolted in securely, then redid the herringbone tile and matched the existing grout so well you can't tell any repair was ever done. That's exactly the outcome you hope for with tile work. While he was in there, he also fixed a leaking tub spout that required opening another section of wall for plumbing work, then patched and painted it back to seamless. Jesse's attention to detail was outstanding throughout. I'll be calling him for any future work at the house.

She did tell me they would be here the next morning between 7-8 am I am still waiting for them but when I called her to ask if there was an eta she blew up on me, was Cussing me out and Hung up on me, Again this was all caught on camera, when I told her I am leaving a review. Our door stopped half the way up and my wife panicked! It was late Friday so I thought I would give it a shot and call a Door Company, Allied ! I thought for sure we would be looking at an emergency price! I was told that they could be out first thing in the morning, Saturday! I told them that it could wait until Monday since I had my car already out of the garage. These guys are for real!!! No additional charge for Saturday. Wow, we still decided on Monday because we had plans. Monday morning, Allied showed up as promised and Eric was outstanding! This guy explained everything to my wife and had the new spring installed in less than an hour. He replaced the spring, he made sure the door was alined and lubricated all the rollers. We are so amazed that this door is so quiet now when opening and closing. Allied installed the garage door opener 8 years prior when we moved in and the technician was outstanding then. Not a fly by night or flash in the pan, they have been around awhile! Consistent in providing good products and unbelievable service! As I said before these guys are the real deal!! One of our garage door springs broke and in a pinch, we called Allied Garage Door after getting a few other quotes. Their prices seemed reasonable so we set up an appointment the same day. One of the techs was out here within 2 hours and was very nice, explained what had happened, etc. We moved our cars out of the garage and within about 30-40 minutes, he had replaced both springs. He didn't push us for the second spring but did recommend it, seeing as it could always happen that the new spring could be replaced and the second one could go the next month. For about another $60, we agreed to let him replace both. We spent just over $200 and we were satisfied with the work, the friendliness, and the time frame in which the tech was able to get out here in such a quick fashion. We would recommend this place. Get some quotes (some places "service call cost" does NOT include the cost of the one spring, Allied Garage Door DOES) and choose the best one that may fit your needs or budget. We were satisfied with their service today, though. read more

Allied installed the original garage door on our home 24 years ago (previous owner). We had our first issue 2 years ago ( hey, not bad). We called Allied. They were super responsive, very friendly and they fixed the issue. Our door finally became unrepairable. We called Allied again, and again the same thing. Super responsive, very friendly and professional. The technician, super nice guy (Mike) gave me some options, good advice...so we took it. They install was done 2 days ago and we couldn't be happier. I called around to get a few quotes but had a hard time deciding what my home needed and what was a fair price. I luckily had a friend recommend Allied Garage Doors. I spoke to Joe to get a quote from Allied. The service team come to my house the next day and I had a better understanding of what was needed and different price points. There was no pressure to buy but I knew I the right team. My door, lift motor, and all the seals were replaced. The installer even took some time to show me how to program the keypads. They came out to fix our garage door, which had stopped working and prior to that had been getting stuck and often needed multiple attempts to close properly. Andrew handled the service, and he was excellent, very professional, honest, and clearly knew what he was doing. He not only fixed the issue efficiently, but also made sure everything was working smoothly before leaving. The door now looks great and operates perfectly. I called Allied door on a Friday morning in a panic after my garage door was smashed into by a delivery driver the night before which left me with one vehicle trapped inside the garage and the door severely damaged. I spoke with Joe at Allied and within a few hours they had a crew out to remove the door panels, get the car out and then they straightened out the panels and replaced them in such a way that my garage is secured until we can get a new door installed. With the sub zero temps and snowfall we are experiencing I couldn't be more pleased not only with the workmanship but with the customer service as well. Top Notch!!!! read more

Allied was a lifesaver! My Association's snow plowing service smashed my garage door during last weekend's snow. My emergency call Sunday morning was returned quickly, Joe worked with me to get guys out here the next day to measure & inspect damage, helped me figure out a new garage door opener, then sent Bert out to install it yesterday. After my garage door violently broke, Allied came out with an excellent technician who looked over the issues and helped me know what needed to be fixed. I thought I was in for an overhaul and was worried about how much it would cost, but the tech walked me through it and explained to me the door systems could all be easily repaired and not replaced. He was done in about an hour, and everything was back and working, even better than it did before. Thankfully garage doors don't break frequently. Scott did an outstanding job. He was on time, plite, professional, and very friendly. He asked questions to ensure he knew exactly what the issues were and what the client wanted done. He identified additional problems and corrected them. Finally, he identified an electrical problem with the plug and outlets that allowed me to call an electrician to correct it. Allied has been to my house several times over the years, this time I decided to upgrade my operator to the new style unit that mounts to the side of the door. the new opener has an app where I can monitor my door from my smart phone.
