I had a new furnace installed last year, by Hummingbird heating and plumbing, very satisfied. I…read morewanted to change the filter and was unable to remove it. Called, set up an appointment and the service repairman came . His name was Dean. He called before he was to arrive, he knew exactly how to fix the issue. He gave me a hint on removing the filter. Told me to make rabbit ears on the filter with duck tape. That way I can pull the filter out. I told him I was disappointed the installers did not show me how to remove the filter. After all, I really was not thrilled that I had to have a service call. The best part of this review is that there wasn't any charge, he gave me a pound of hummingbird coffee , a fabulous tip on removing the filter and we shook hands. Very thankful for the rabbit ear tip, everyone should learn this! Very pleased with Hummingbird, the service repairman Dean and my pound of coffee. But the best part... no charge. THANK YOU HUMMINGBIRD! Thank you Sheila Marsh

They shut off the furnace in the middle of winter and refused to turn it back on, saying that you don't want to see a big headline on the local newspaper. Of course, anything burning will emit CO and I have CO monitors nearby. Another company simply did maintenance on the furnace and said the furnace still works great.

I don't even know where to begin regarding the disappointment, frustration and lack of…read moreprofessionalism I've experienced with this company. After expressing my concerns with the owner Jennifer Keida, I've yet to receive any feedback from her after sending numerous texts, emails, phone calls and photos relating to the completion of the new HVAC Rheem system recently installed outside my home. After the initial job was rescheduled, her team proceeded ten days later which put us in the middle of historic heat and an historic cold wave, back-to-back, in upstate NY. It all started when her technicians burnt out the wires to my furnace and never told me, so when I went to put the heat on the furnace didn't work and they knew that when they left the job. After it was inspected and validated that the wires were burnt out because they HVAC system overpowered my furnace, they had to remove the old furnace, which was weeks later and install a new furnace, but they never installed a return on the system. Air was now circulating from my raw basement throughout my home triggering a black mold situation up my walls. This was after they placed the unit practically up against my building where we were doing work, after specifically requesting that it be centered outside the back of my home. They also left all the hardware to the unit unprotected. I've emailed Jenn the owner many times and supplied photos to her and her employees with zero response. I now have to seek out alternative measures to correct the failures of her and her team. The least she could have done was replied to my emails, taking accountability and offering up suggestions on how to go about the black mold situation. I would have also liked to know when they were going to install the return on the furnace. Instead, she has offered no remedy for the actions of her technicians' incompetence. If I could have given them zero stars, I would have preferred that. I began working with this company in mid-March, it's now July. I wouldn't recommend this company, not only because they are negligent but because they also tried charging me for their mistake by offering to remove the new AC unit and putting it where it belonged in the first place. Even the smaller details like placing the wire from the thermostat around the door had to be supervised the second time because they carelessly stapled it to my walls the first time instead of neatly around the door and it fell down, so it hung for a couple of weeks adding to my frustration. I would never recommend using this company, it's poorly managed, they lack accountability, competence and respect for their customers.

Recently my house kept getting cold and thermostat would read 4 degrees below the set temp before the furnace would turn on and when it did, the air flow was weak. So of course I called M&R for service, (Late on a Friday afternoon) . The person who took my call was very pleasant and knowledgeable (Trish). She said she would have someone call me back. Tony B called me right back and asked what was going on, when I explained the symptoms, he thought it might be my Nest thermostat that I had installed a few years ago. I told him I could replace it back to the original thermostat M&R installed 5 yrs ago. He told me to try it and call him back to let him know how it turned out and said they would send their tech out if I ran into problems, or if the fix didn't work. I replaced the Nest thermostat over the weekend and sure enough, it was the Nest giving me the problem. Furnace was immediately back to 100%!... My plan was to get the snow out my driveway monday morning and then call Tony to let him know how things turned out. When I checked my messages, Tony had already called me and left a message asking how things turned out . My opinion is this company is the Real Deal and NOT transactional. They have earned my respect and business. My suggestion to anyone who reads this is give M&R a call and continue to build a relationship with them because they really do care about their customers!!
