I decided to go with Allied outdoors for out backyard and front driveway Carve stone project. I also asked them to cover my patio with perforated sheet. Paper work was signed in Mid October 2018 promised for the work to be finished by December15-20. The problem started with follow ups for different project managers to call and show up. Once I heard from the project manager, I figured that person who soled the service to me did not measure the carve stone area properly (off by a few hundred sq ft.) That meant going back and forth on the price again. Once we settled on the price, the follow ups with different project managers started again. We got our full work done by end of Feb. Carve stone team was efficient and good, but scheduling for steps prior and later with Patio cover took lot of effort and time. We had our patio updated from the pebble aggregate to carvestone. My sales person was Jonas Clark and the project manager was Carlos Flores. Additionally, we had carvestone overlay on the coping of our pool, we updated the attached hot tub and changed out the water tile. We also added a fire pit. Overall, we are pleased with the outcome. While Ben was the intended person overseeing the carvestone, we had a carvestone team from Houston come out to complete the carvestone portion due to the Dallas crew being busy. We had some hiccups and delays along the way due to weather, gas line permit passing and other jobs that the company had committed to. The positives were that Carlos and Jonas were ALWAYS available and ensured that my questions and any issues that arose were addressed. The team functioned very well overall. Carlos was all hands on deck throughout the process. Stacy who handled the pool aspect kept the ball rolling and like Carlos and Jonas was ready available and kept me up to date. After completion of the project, we had a sprinkler pipe that had cracked in an area where the concrete was previously removed by Allied. Carlos came out and fixed it with no problem. Additionally, we had some questions about the care of the carevstone and Ben came out and discussed with me without delay. When things didn't go as planned, which does happen occasionally with contract work, AOS owned it and took care of it. I really do feel that their priority was to complete a nice final product and to ensure that their customers are completely satisfied. Our job was completed in December 2019. I am confident that should any reasonable issues arise that this is a company that will stand by their word and make every effort to correct and would recommend them if you are looking to update your backyard and pool. read more

I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with the customer service. I called a week ago for an appointment and they were booked until May 2nd, which was fine. Then a day or two later they called because they had a change in the schedule, so they could come earlier April 30th. Both my husband and I had to rearrange our work schedules to be there for the appointment. Unfortunately, we had some bad weather last night with tornado sirens, heavy rain, and damaging winds. The gentleman called me and said it was bad from where he was coming from, so for his safety I suggested that we reschedule. I wouldn't want to drive through all of that. I kind of figured that since it was out of our control and the fact that I thought more about his safety than the appointment, that I would get a priority in their schedule. But, apparently I am not priority, because they can't get me in this week now at all. I just think that is poor service. read more

We set up a FREE estimate, per the postcard we received in the mail, for a Saturday afternoon and the employee never showed up. When I called the next week afterwards to inquire as to what happened, they said that they received a note we had cancelled. We absolutely did NOT cancel and will therefore never use them again. The salesman lowered the price and assured me I would have the standard warranty on workmanship. Run, don't walk, in any direction that takes you away from Allied Outdoor Solutions. I sure wish I had read the reviews here before having them resurface our fading cooldeck, coping, and retaining walls. From the first missed appointment by the sales manager, the entire experience has been horrendous. Like many others have noted, they are masters of over-promising and under-delivering. The original design we chose was changed on the recommendation of the installation manager since he said we would have issues with it (seems like the sales manger would have had the same opinion). The install was supposed to take a few weeks and took several months, partially due to an unusually wet spring season that year. Even when it was dry, they rarely showed up, obviously wanting to get other projects started so that they would not be cancelled. They knew they already had us locked in so we were no longer a priority. The crew that did the original install made such a mess of our backyard, often leaving empty water bottles and cans. There is still deck stain that ran down the pool tile under the coping that I have not been able to remove and they could not be bothered to remove. They stated they would do their best to keep debris out of the pool and spa. The amount of debris that ended up in both and sat there for months was incredible! It took multiple visits by professional pool cleaners to get our pool back to normal after the work was completed. We have needed a handful of repairs over the years and they always take weeks to get completed. In the last repair they even used a completely different color of /grout mastic and said they could not come back out to fix it. Another item worth noting is that you will have to reseal the deck at least every two years and that the color will fade tremendously between those resealings. They will likely need to install new color before resealing and will of course charge additional for those touch ups. They are smart businessmen in that they have you exactly where the want you, locked in for years, if you want to keep their mediocre product looking its best. We played their game and had it sealed a few times since we spent so much for the original installation and did not have the money to replace it with something else. On this last scheduled resealing appointment I reached out to the project manager the day before to confirm after awaiting nearly two months to be put on the schedule (naturally he did not reach out to me to confirm first) and was told they would be there the following afternoon. We had guests arriving for the holiday weekend so we were cutting it close. They did not show and the project manager did not return any calls or e-mails for the entire weekend. I called the sales person who sold us the resealing and he said the manager had a family emergency. While that is completely understandable, the fact that no one reached out to me to apologize and explain that speaks volumes about how poorly run this company is. I could post so much more about our interactions with them over the years, but hope this outline and the several photos of their shoddy work attached show you all that you need to know. Do yourself a favor and save up for real stone or stick with a known product like cooldeck. If you elect to use Allied Outdoor Solutions, you will undoubtedly be massively disappointed with the results. read more

Frankly, this is exactly the venue that dissatisfied customers go to publicize their frustrations when a company refuses to live up to their promises. If you all would prefer more details to be published, I can post a date by date log of the back and forth experienced with you all, along with numerous pictures to illustrate the workmanship issues that occurred along the way. Clearly you didn't bother to read either post or you would know that my irrigation issue has already been fixed as I had to pay someone else who was qualified to fix your crew member's mistake.... If you sincerely want to fix the problem, you can reimburse me the cost of the repairs just as Project Mgr Steve originally agreed to do, before going back on his word. Your request for me call you, when you obviously have my contact info, is a perfect representation of the poor follow up and customer experience we have had thus far. Chad, the only reason that it is "fixed" is because I had to pay somebody (other than Allied Outdoor Solutions) to come fix it. Your warranty has proven to be worthless as you all clearly will take an avenue that allows you to not have to live up to it. As detailed above, your Project Manager, Steve, wanted to let your concrete guy who was clearly not qualified start tunneling under my slab. Something that professional plumbers recommended to NOT DO. I was not about to let "a concrete guy" who "used to work for a plumber", as he described himself, start doing something that professional plumbers recommended against. As you note, we have spoken before and even though I know Steve communicated our concerns to you on this issue, you didn't bother to call or respond until a negative review gets posted online. Then, you respond inaccurately.... While I had previous thoughts, based on comments from Carlos and Steve, that the issues with your project management dept starts from the top, you have confirmed that with your response. I hate to poorly review these folks, but our experience with them was deplorable. We contracted them for an outdoor space to redo a driveway/sidewalks and build a deck. The driveway looks 'ok' with its poorly framed shaped/coloring, and that's all I can say about it (even with a 30k price tag.) The deck was built twice by the same guy (owner is more about pinching pennies on quality than making good on a contract) and then abandoned after I told them I wasn't paying for a shoddy deck built with damaged lumber and poor workmanship. Do NOT do business with Allied Outdoor Solutions. The customer service, lack of responsiveness and quality of work is horrible. We signed a contract with them in March 2019 and only a portion of the work has been done. Below summarizes all the issues we've had with this company. -3-25-19 contract signed -7-23-19 city permit approved; was told they would get us on the project schedule ASAP -From that point on I was given the run around on when they would start. Always next week, or late next week. -I always had to initiate the calls for information. They never contacted me to provide an update. -Called another office to complain but was transferred to the same person in Dallas who would never give me a straight answer -Was finally told they would be here on Friday or Saturday (8-23/24) to drop off lumber/supplies. -No show once again so was going to call Monday morning to try to cancel contract. When I called again I was told they would be there that day (Monday- 8-26) -The construction crew finally showed up after noon and started construction on the roof. Forecast called for rain that night. -Poor job of covering open roof areas, and you guessed it, water damage to our ceiling and walls inside our house -They were responsive to my calls this time and came out and looked at damage and said they would "fix it" when they do the final trim woodwork on the interior of the patio cover (no dates were given) -The roof buildout was completed on Tuesday (8-27) -No dates for completion of the work were given, no timelines were given, no written plan for the remaining steps was given -All of the old roof materials and debris was piled up on the side of my house for 3 weeks. They finally came to pick it up last week. -Exchanged texts with Project Manager on Wednesday (9-4) asking about the electrician. He said he did not know when the electrician would be but should be soon. -Electrician finally showed up on 9-11 and completed work. I have not heard any updates from Allied. -We have piles of lumber laying in our courtyard for 2 weeks that we can barely walk around If I could give negative stars I would. I oversee construction work all over the world. Allied is the absolute worst company I have ever worked with. They are the greatest team of sales professionals I have encountered. That is their only professional operation. They are non-responsive. Terrible at the one thing they are hired to do- Project Management. They do not actually have any real knowledge in the pool industry. If you hire them, expect to manage your own project. They will not show up to your site to oversee their contractors. Everything that they detail about your project in the pre-construction meeting....throw it out with the trash. They do not honor the words of their sales team. We are 8 months into a simple strip tile out and plaster job, and they still can't get the details complete. In my photos you will see how they treat your property (we had slurry and debris throughout the property),2 colors of plaster, trash left behind, 2 colors of fittings, they didn't cover the drains so they had to bust out sections to replace pipes. Oh and the best part, they actually have the audacity to submit a full price invoice. Not acknowledging their incompetence. If you hire them after reading this, that is on you, good luck. read more

These guys recently built our new outdoor "home outside of home". It is a magnificent outdoor living space and kitchen area. First, the "why Allied" when we decided on a company... We met with David Lucht, their sales representative. We had narrowed our options down to 4 companies (based on reviews and websites) and then met with each of their 4 representatives. David was professional and customer-focused. He actually listened to our needs and was able to come up with a plan that worked for everything we needed. Everyone else focused on the things they did the best or the biggest. David heard that we are on the lake and wanted to watch TV while outside, but didn't want our backs to the amazing view. He heard that I wanted a kitchen, but entertaining and seating area was just as important. Ultimately, it was "his plan" that we bought, not just Allied. His consistent communication and follow up is what ultimately sealed the deal (he was not a "pest", but he also reminded me that he wanted to build this)! I would absolutely recommend anyone start with David - however, I would also recommend David because he did not completely disappear during the build stage. When I needed communication or follow up on something - he was only a text or call away. His post-sale approach matched his pre-sale approach - not easy to find and I definitely appreciated it. Now, the build. The majority of the subcontractors on my project were "top notch". My wife and I must have complimented Allied to all of our neighbors a couple hundred times because we know that most construction projects fail or succeed based on the quality and integrity of the subcontractors. The relationship. Chris Wise, our Project Manager, was great to work with. He was focused on the success of the project and our satisfaction with it. As with any construction project, we had a few "snags" in both build and communication (some of it our fault as we are not "construction proficient" when it comes to explaining what we want - we just knew we wanted X - sometimes no idea how we would get it and/or if we could afford it). Chris has a customer-centric approach to his communication style and attitude. He was constantly trying to figure out how to make things work. He was also diligent in his communication and follow up. When a sub didn't complete something the way we envisioned it, he was quick to follow up and find a solution (in some cases, there was no solution, but we got that answer as well - I've dealt with others in the industry who delay a bad answer, we did not have that problem). He was also diligent in following through after each project deadline and making sure we were happy with the results. The project started before Covid, was placed on pause during the initial shut-down and then picked back up after things loosened up a bit (several months later) - Chris didn't miss a beat and he was good at holding the sub-contractors accountable for the work (because of Chris, it "felt" like everyone was an employee of Allied - if I personally had not been around construction, I would have absolutely assumed everyone was employed there). The final result was a very large outdoor bar (build-in gas grill, fridge and custom green egg enclosure) with full bar height seating that can view both the lake and a ball game at the same time. A full living area (couch and recliners) that can view both the lake and the TV at the same time (including heaters and surround sound), an outdoor (non-covered) fire pit seating area and a covered dining area for 10. All of this sits on a beautifully made Carvestone project that was also provided by Allied. We even had a "snag" during the installation of the Carvestone and with Chris' help, they were quick to schedule and coordinate a fix - I only post this as I'm seeing others had issues with their Carvestone project - Start with David and finish with Chris - you'll be in good shape. read more

Our Project Consulant, Jonas Clark gave us an overview of the process that was easy to understand and everything happened in the order he said it would. Well I have to tell you I'm very disappointed in this company I met with their sales person Brett well over a month ago we spent a good 45 minutes to an hour walking the areas to be covered with carbs town decided to proceed with this company I really liked this sales person wrote him a check signed the contract and he promised they would be in touch within a week yes we were amid COVID-19 he qualified that they would be in touch soon within a week to at least get things scheduled for once things opened up. Things have been open now for weeks I've called the main corporate office two times to talk to two different people it's now been almost 40 days and no one has ever called me back ever! I spoke to Andrew at the corporate office to days ago he assured me someone would be in touch with me from the car stone dispatch and scheduling department within 24 hours that was two days ago still nothing I am disappointed. read more

We needed a very small slab of cement for a shed. Most companies will not entertain a small job or will charge a high price for a small job. Allied was great about waiting for our HOA to approve our plans and once the plans were approved by HOA Allied came within a week to put the slab in. Very happy with the customer service from the planning people to the cement laborers. All were courteous and kind(we have 3 dogs that love to mingle with anyone). Where do I begin? Working with this company has been a mess. I signed a contract to build an aluminum pergola at the beginning of July. After meeting with the "project manager" about 8 weeks later, we discussed color options and expectations. He admitted to being rather new and inexperienced with these types of projects which didn't instill much confidence. I understand we have all have to start somewhere so I gave it a chance. Miscommunication between him and his contractor resulted in the project to be rescheduled 3 times! The excuses and apologizes keep coming until I reached out to his supervisor to voice my frustrations. Nothing much came from that. Construction finally began 3 months later and I was told the project would be completed in 1 day. The contractor was unable to finish and said he will have to return the next day. He didn't show up to finish nor was I contacted with a reason why he didn't show. Don't let all the service awards and advertisements deceive you as it did I. Save yourself the headache and search elsewhere. Update - the project was started on Sunday and finally completed Wednesday morning. The contractor did not show Monday or Tuesday, rain was not the reason. I called Tuesday evening and was given an excuse non weather related. read more

We had our carvestone installed in 2019 and absolutely loved it. All was well until it came time to reseal it, which is required every 2 years to maintain the warranty. We waited 10 months for them to show up and do the reseal after we signed the reseal contract. The guys that showed up didn't seem super confident but got the job done. Within a few weeks I could tell there was a problem. Lots of cloudy areas. I reached out a few times and after a couple months someone finally came out and took a look. That was last Sept 2022 (the reseal job was done in March 2022) Jesse said he knew what needed to be done to fix it (at no charge to me) so a new work order was created. Today is February 9, 2023 and the worker just showed up and had no idea what he needed to do. I called Jesse and asked why he sent someone that didn't know what to do and why he wasn't here to oversee it. He assured me the worker knew what to do. As he's saying this, the worker is standing right there shaking his head. I reminded Jesse that I am the customer, I spent a small fortune on the carvestone that now looks awful, and it is not my job to direct the repair. He called the worker directly and I guess got him started but who knows how it will turn out. My warning to all is don't expect any support once they have your money. Such a shame. read more

Excellent work deserves a strong recommendation and positive review. After completing a search online, we chose Allied to replace our 30 year old back patio, which has a tree in the middle that had grown and whose roots had made the old pavers hazardous to walk on. The end result is outstanding. We first met with Gary Singletary, Allied's sales representative, who examined the patio, explained the potential needs, described what could be done and provided a quote. He was easy to work with, addressed our questions and comments and wore a mask! We then met with Gary and a project supervisor who further reviewed the extent of the work that would be required and provided additional information about the tree, the slant of our patio and how the pavers would be set, carefully explaining the technique. We then went to the source of the pavers in Dallas with Gary and examined what was available, allowing us to see the alternatives and to modify our choice. This orderly set of events was greatly appreciated and carefully orchestrated. Next we met with Garrett Hardy, who would be our project manager. He came to the house and noted additional issues that needed to be addressed, including discussing with our arborist what were the dangers to the existing tree and how to salvage the surrounding vegetation. Once all of this was taken care of, Garrett notified us of the start date, at which time he introduced us to the team leader and work team that would remove the old pavers, shave the tree roots as needed, establish the paver design and shape the new pavers around the tree. He identified additional issues as the work progressed, as did Clemento the team leader, and discussed them with us in a timely manner so we could decide with them what would be done. This was greatly appreciated. Notably, the work crew were very professional. They not only helped me salvage some of the old pavers to use in another garden, they also recut the area around the tree when we decided it was too small. Their skills at what they did was impressive. After 6 days the project was completed to our satisfaction. However, Garrett inspected the work and had a worker come out to take care of several issues he observed. On the whole it was a very good experience and Allied did a great job.
