Today we had a roasted peach summer salad, with shrimp, blue cheese crumbles, candied walnuts, and spinach and it was so wonderful!!

This was small family-run establishment that was only open for a few hours a day. There were about ten tables inside, and they also seemed to handle a number of take-out orders while I was there. They served American comfort foods such as sandwiches and salads with a few Latin dishes too. They also had gelato and baked goods available. The service was friendly, and the food came out in a timely manner. I had the Chicken Caesar wrap ($16.95), which was a special on the day I attended. This also came with a side of pasta salad or fries, and I opted for the orzo-based pasta salad. It was very good especially the balsamic vinaigrette that dressed it. The wrap was nicely done, filled to capacity, and served warm. The homemade croutons and the slight crunch from the wrap really made it worthwhile. I also tried the flavors of fall sandwich, which was another special. It contained grilled chicken, caramelized onions, pumpkin and cranberry chutney, goat cheese, and toasted pecans on ciabatta. The ciabatta was the highlight here as well as the onions. The chutney was a tad too sweet for me. I also had the blueberry cobbler cupcake and a slice of brown sugar pecan pie cheesecake. Both were very flavorful. The crumb on the cupcake was good and I liked that the actual cupcake had blueberries rather than just the frosting. The cheesecake slice was my preferred choice. I liked the crunch from the pecans and overall, it was not too "cheesecaky", which sometimes puts me off. Will I go back? Definitely. read more

I have visited this cafe on many occasions and I have never been disappointed. It's tricky to find this small restaurant but so worth your effort. The food is exceptional in every way. There's an extensive variety of wonderful specials and daily regulars. Everything is fresh and delicious. The service is beyond reproach.I can't recommend this place more highly. This place is so cute!! I've been meaning to stop by for a while now. The storefront is so cute and very inviting. The inside does not disappoint either. The decor is pink and brown and just what you would imagine a cupcake cafe to look like. They serve lunch but I only ordered cupcake and ice cream. Both were fabulous. I will definitely be back again to try the lunch or just eat more cupcakes! Only drawback is there is no handicap access. There is a small step to get in, and can be difficult with stroller or wheelchair. Definitely worth a trip and I hope this place sticks around. Allie's is a very unique and special family owned lunch place. Their food is always outstanding, the service is great and the owners have created a welcoming gathering place in center of Washington, NJ. Food is cooked to order and it is always gourmet quality. I recently moved to the greater Hackettstown area and being the foodie that I am, I have been scouring all of the local stops in the area. I have been to at least 10 different 'highly rated' restaurants (4* or above on Yelp) and Allie's is BY FAR the best place around (keep in mind that I'm baling on a budget, so no 4$ sign restaurants for me). Sometimes I am reluctant to do a Yelp review because I don't want to be too hard on a place but Allie's makes that easy because they do everything really well. We'll start with the menu... I appreciate the menu at Allie's because they don't overload you with too many choices. Instead, they pick around a dozen or so items and they are all EXCELLENT. Additionally, their prices are very fair. In comparison to some of the older, more established restaurants in the area, Allie's is a better product and it is cheaper--who'da thunk it? The service is fast and friendly. I think both of the ladies that work the counter remembered my name after the second time I stopped by. They are very sweet and in my estimation, the best customer service oriented individuals I have met since moving to the area. I am used to people from the south/midwest, so this is big for me. Whereas a lot of people in this area are somewhat abrupt and cold, they are considerate and warm. I almost forgot--Dessert! I have tried several of the cupcakes and a few different gelatos and they are fantastic. My favorite is the birthday cake cupcake and the bacio (sp.?) gelato. But really, you can't go wrong. To say that Allie's is a hidden gem in Washington would be an understatement. The owner of the cafe started it in loving memory of her daughter and the care and love that goes into every meal is the key to what makes this place so special. The three best sandwiches I have ever had(and I've eaten a lot in my day) I had at Allie's. Their specials are creative and inventive, putting together seasonal ingredients that you wouldn't always think to pair but are amazing. Don't even get me started on the rice balls-probably one of the best things I have ever eaten. I'm not much of a sweets guy but the cupcakes are great, too. Really cute place with a special meaning dedicated to the owners daughter and friend who have passed on. Listen to the specials every time you go bc they change and are very good. I've had a blackened chicken sandwich special which should be on the menu full time bc it was awesome. I normally get the steak sandwich and riceball app when I go which are awesome. And my wife gets a salad or a wrap and they are awesome. I would also recommend an iced tea when you go. They are served in good size mason glasses. I think the main thing that makes this place awesome is you could tell all the food is fresh and they aren't afraid to add ingredients to the homemade sauces and dressings which adds really good flavor. Took my grandkids for the cupcakes. Much more than that. Started with the homemade chips and spinach cheese dip, delicious. Ordered extra chips for my granddaughter, who "didn't want to eat". I've never been here for lunch (I've heard good things, though), but their cupcakes are delicious. Seriously. You haven't lived until you've tried this place's salted caramel cupcakes. The only downside is how pricey it is--it's definitely worth it (you can't find cupcakes this good anywhere else near Washington), but not a luxury I could afford on a regular basis. This place is awesome! Came here for a quick lunch and couldn't be happier. Our waitress was so pleasant. The menu has a lot of good stuff. The Mediterranean wrap my mom got was delicious with hand cut fries. My girlfriends chicken quesadilla was cooked perfect and accompanied by fresh salsa and sour cream and was also very good. I got the special Venno wrap which was roasted veggies and fresh mozzarella and got the orzo pasta salad as a side which I enjoyed. Deff going to be back to try more things off the menu and I'd suggest going here for some tasty food. Oh and they make amazing cupcakes and cakes!!!!! So good. read more
