We wound up dining at The Grill at the Pittstown Inn simply because its location was very convenient to where we were staying. However, it far exceeded my expectations! While the indoor dining room looked modern and comfortable, the weather was just too nice to not sit outdoors, and we were, thankfully, able to move our reservation. The staff was extremely professional and polite, which only improved the experience. We decided not to order cocktails, so we just enjoyed some slices of seasoned focaccia bread while we waited for our meal. We started by sharing an appetizer portion of the Grilled Lamb Chops, which came as three pieces, a bit of an annoyance when there were two of us and bone-in items were not the easiest to split in half. Regardless, the lamb was tender, lean, and perfectly cooked. Its marinade of balsamic vinegar, olive oil, rosemary, garlic, and onion powder was sheer perfection! In fact, the meat was so flavorful that I enjoyed it best on its own, without the uber-sweet mango chutney or side dipping sauce. It had been tough to select my entree from the vast, intriguing list, but I ended up with the Ahi Tuna, a fish I usually either love or hate. Thankfully, their version fell on the favorable side. I received seven slices of wasabi-dusted, seared, and succulent yellowfin tuna. The lean fish was served with diced boy choy and a mound of jasmine rice, all with the perfect amount of ginger soy sauce poured over each component. It was a spectacular dish! My companion enjoyed his Black Angus Ribeye Steak with caramelized onions, seasonal vegetables, and roasted red bliss potatoes in a pink peppercorn demi glace. He also found each of his items to be well-seasoned and flavorful. Plus, we both found the portions to be very generous. The Grill at the Pittstown Inn exceled in all areas and offered a truly memorable meal!

Having passed by the place at least 40 times over the years, we finally took the plunge and made a reservation to go in for dinner. I'm only sorry we waited this long. It was a weekend, so there was live music, with a guitarist playing and singing along the wall near the bar. Great tunes. Service was gracious and not overbearing, it wasn't crowded when we arrived but by the time we were done it was packed. Looks like there is a longer room adjacent to the kitchen that can be a dining room but also a private dining room. Open-ish kitchen that looked clean and beautifully equipped. The food was very good. The fried calamari was crisp and tender, the salmon with the fig reduction was a nice entree, as were the wild boar chops (which I believe were a special that evening). The desserts, especially the creme brulee, were also terrific. We definitely will be stopping in again!

So glad we came back to the Pittstown in for another try. On our most recent visit, we sat inside. Last time we sat on the porch. The interior is very historic and rustic looking and I love the exposed brick. We sat in front of a large window with a nice view to the porch and main road. I hear there is a fireplace in one of the rooms. Next time, we'll request seating in that room. What sets this place apart from other Pubs/Inns is the quality of the service. The waiters are all well dressed and they try to provide a higher level of professional service. I like that they scrape your table after each course. The food was pretty good too. We both started with French Onion Soup. We're kind of obsessed with that soup and now we know we have a local place where we can get it because we both enjoyed it very much. We shared a Caesar salad and a spinach artichoke flatbread. Both were decent but the flavor combos of the flatbread were kind of flat. I'm hoping they will switch things up and add another option. Looking forward to trying more of the menu, especially the Indian special of the evening.

Honestly, this place is a hidden gem in Hunterdon County. It's perfectly rustic and the menu is always next level. The service is on par with top shelf restaurants in Manhattan. Highly recommend!

Food was tasty but there was barely any steak on my steak sandwich, and my beer also was brought to me with a 2" foam head. Service was ok, ambience was exactly what you would expect.

Pittstown Inn is the most consistent and yummy restaurant in the tri state area. You are greeted with professionals. The waitstaff is friendly, detail oriented, and attentive. The food is other worldly. If you ever stop by come on Indian night. The food is bursting with flavor. Be sure to order the spring rolls as an appetizer and if Sonel is working be sure to order a French Cosmo! I love coming here with my family. It feels like home!

Really good local restaurant & bar. They make good cocktails and have a decent wine and craft beer selection. I like to go on Wednesdays because they have an Indian special entree which is always good and live music. Highly recommend.

The location is a little further than we would normally travel, but it was worth it. I loved all the farm to table foods they have. They even nicely promote all the partners they use right on the wall of the restaurant, so you know where all your food comes from. Everyone loved their meals! I had the Thai chicken sandwich and it was so flavorful and delicious. It came with a side and I picked baked sweet potato wedges that were really good and so memorable that a week later I am still thinking about them. Other dishes ordered were the chicken salad and strawberry salad which my friends both enjoyed. Our server was very good and didn't rush us as we were just chatting up a storm. The restaurant suggests reservations which are a good idea, especially for dinner. I will definitely be back and can't wait to put Harvest on my restaurant rotation. Sorry no photos this time... the food was just so good and we were hungry!

We…read morehave a couple of local "go to's" when it comes to Italian style food, but I don't know for certain how this place evaded us. The restaurant is tucked behind a Walgreen's and proximate to an urgent care on a side street off Rt 31, so that might explain it. We arrived for dinner on a random Thursday. The dining room is large, clean, bright, and had a lot of empty tables, but few patrons. They have a take-out business and it was sort of rainy outside, so that explained it in my head. The server came right away and took our beverage orders (it's a BYOB and I still can't get used to that concept). We ordered our meals after our drinks arrived. I like to keep it simple on a first visit. If you've seen my other reviews, it sorta makes sense. I got the linguine, with mushroom sauce and meatballs. It gives me a chance to see if the pasta is boxed or not, how fresh the ingredients are, the taste of the sauce, and if they can make a decent meatball. The linguine was made in the kitchen from scratch and the mushroom marinara was delicious. The meatballs are amongst the best I've had in the area, including two NYC Little Italys (Manhattan and Bronx). The salad was fresh and crisp and the bread came out warm and delicious. It's a bit of a drive from Clinton, but I am going to try their pizza at my next takeout opportunity.

The inside is quaint, with brick and stucco walls. My wife ordered the penne with broccoli. I ordered the linguini alla vongole (linguini with clams) in white wine sauce. Both entrees came with soup or salad. We both chose salad. They also brought some warm bread to the table with oil for dipping, though the bread did seem a little dry. I prefer my bread to be a bit more stretchy/chewy. We both enjoyed our meals. They were a good portion size, with nothing left to bring home. For dessert, I chose the affogato (special), my wife went with the fudge cake, and both of us had cappuccino. It is a BYOB but there is a liquor store next door if you want a bottle (or two) of wine.
