Considering that this place already has 160 reviews, my opinion seems small but I'm going to give it anyway. Its a decent sized dive with comfy half circle booths and a pool table. I believe there is Buck Hunter, too. I usually find myself stumbling in with my roommate who shares with me a hearty appetite, especially after a night of serious drinking. We order a pint and get a free pizza. About every other time a bartender has handed me two tickets for pizza and there is always a person or two in my party who doesn't want theirs. Then you go for round two of drinks and voila! Round two of free pizzas. I'm not going to admit how many pizzas my roommate and I have been able to put away. But if you meet me on the street, we'll stop in here and show you. People have put down the actual quality of the pizza but come on! Its free. Plus, they toss the dough and make it right there in front of you and finally cook it in a stone oven. I don't care if it costs 87 cents to make, give me three more! read more

Free pizza with every drink (toppings are $1), and conveniently located a couple doors down from a laundromat: laundry night no longer sucks! Prices are reasonable ($6 for most of what's on tap, Bud and Miller cheaper). It's sort of divey and has decent 70s/80s rock soundtrack at all times. It has a pool table and, like some other neighborhood spots, board games that you can play while you're hanging out (Battleship, Connect 4, Operation, Jenga, Clue, and some others). Basic bar specials - ladies night, trivia, and bingo throughout the week. Some people I know have complained about the bartenders, but I've always been treated nicely and promptly. (Although for coming as often as I used to, they never once remembered me.) They do take cards, but $12 minimum. Leaving one star off because it can get kinda crowded and extremely douchey on weekends. Weeknights are the better bet. Regardless, it's a decent neighborhood spot. read more

I really like this place. I've been one to frequent Crocodile Lounge in Manhattan, but I think if I live in Brooklyn, I would come here instead. Same free pizza deal for every drink, but the crowd is a little older, which I'm definitely okay with. Maybe it's because I'm getting old. Yikes. They are a bit better with advertising their weekly specials, like bingo and trivia night, as seen by the signs plastered all over the bar. Something to note with the pizza: they use a fire brick oven here, so while the pizza still isn't the best pizza you've ever had, the chew of the crust makes this free pizza slightly better than its Manhattan counterpart. They have more TVs here, with actual cable channels, and the fact that they have pitcher specials is absolutely amazing. They also have skee ball, board games, darts, Big Buck hunter, and billiards, which kinda makes it infinitely better. Prices are around the same as Croc Lounge, if not a little cheaper. The shot and beer special is pretty killer and I think $1 less than Croc. I'll definitely be back, as this is pretty much exactly what you want from a dive bar. Fantastic place in Williamsburg - a must go to. Drinks and music are great and both the bartenders and bouncers are outstanding. Free pizza (of many toppings) and cheap drinks are a huge bonus! If you hail from Manhattan, the place is a lot nearer than what it seems - it's right outside the L train. If you want to go out with friends and don't know where to go, the good music, karaoke and winning free stuff will make it a fun night. I have previously been to the Crocodile Lounge in Manhattan. Well, this place is way better than that! The bouncer, bartenders and pizza guys are all much friendlier than the rude pizza guys at the Croc. The pizzas are fresher and tastier (but still not the greatest; I mean, they are free after all.) I really do love the crust though. It just reminds me of the fresh rolls they serve in restaurants. I came on a Tuesday for their free comedy night (which they have every week.) It's in the back room, where they have a stage, chairs, and tables set up. There were at least 5 or 6 comics that took the stage throughout the night. There was one really funny guy, but I thought the rest were kind of blah. But I can't really complain because it's free! This place is a lot less divey than the Croc in terms of set-up. The decor is nice, but the ambiance is still casual. There's a pool table, skee ball, and other games. Drinks were cheap (mixed drink costs $6.) Not very strong though. Alligator Lounge has a good thing going, but it's just not my thing at all. I initially felt compelled to give them a worse score, but I realized it wouldn't really be fair. I can see lots of people loving this place, because objectively there's nothing wrong with it. Drinks are cheap, there is free pizza (which is about as tasty as you'd expect free pizza to be, but hey, it's free). There's also a pool table, karaoke in the back, and the staff is friendly enough. That said, it's a bro spot, or at least it was bro-filled to capacity when I stopped by. The music is pretty bad, as is the decor. I was immediately reminded of bars in White Plains, which, while loved by many, are also not my thing. So, keep on keeping on, Alligator Lounge. I was happily pleased when I found myself at the Alligator Lounge. Although a little dingy inside, there was a cool vibe going, and the wait staff was welcoming. I'd actually never heard of the deal here before rolling in and was a little shocked when I was told I'd get a free pizza with my already cheap beer purchase. I figured it'd be grimy nasty 7-Eleven-style pizza, but boy was I wrong! They do a real good job with the pizza, and you can really get your fill here without breaking the bank. They have free pizza. Has someone already mentioned that? The awning outside is ironic and gives the wrong impression for what the inside beholds. Pretty chill atmosphere - both the patrons and the decor. The music varies according to whose iPod is plugged in - but usually good. When ordering your drink ask for a ticket if one isn't offered, then make your way back towards to pool table to the brick oven to get your personal 12-inch pie. Cheese is free, toppings are a buck. Even without the toppings it's a damn good pie. But all the condiments, like red pepper and parmesan, can be found a long the bar or near the plush benches. I disagree about the pizza being of subpar quality. It is the free version of delicious hot brick-oven cheese pizza that I have, admittedly, paid $20 for at Bertucci's. I would also like to mention that I went to Alligator Lounge once before I was of legal drinking age and ordered a Sprite for about $2 and they STILL brought me a pizza. I would also like to mention that I have, in the past, split a pitcher of beer with a friend, for which case they brought us TWO pizzas, one each. I heard about this place when I first moved to New York but it took a terrarium class and 2.5 years for me to actually get there! While waiting for a terrarium class to start, my compadre and I decided to get a drink. And we stumbled upon the Alligator Lounge. Free personal sized pizza pie with EVERY drink! They had me at FREE!. Went on a Friday for Karaoke had a wonderful time. Got there st 8pm snd stayed at the bar having drinks and pizza til 10pm waiting for karaoke to start. Relaxed atmosphere. Friendly crowd. Everyone cheered during karaoke. Note: same review as my update for Croc's. After moving further along the L train route, I now frequent Croc's sister bar--Alligator lounge. I honestly thought it would be more or less the same...but it's not. Because of this, I have to deduct a star from Croc (I'm too damned lazy to type out the full name but not too lazy to type within these paranthesis). Exhibit A -- Alligator is a lot bigger. At first it seems to be the same size or even smaller. But aha! There is in fact a much bigger back room. Also, they have lounge-y sofas so you can feel even lazier and fatter while scarfing down your pizzas. Exhibit B-- The beers at Alligator are slightly cheaper. With even a Yeungling for $4. Last time I went to Croc's I remember the beers being $6 at the cheapest, unless that's changed since I've been. Exhibit C -- They have karaoke night and Bingo night. Granted Croc's has quiz night, but I didn't find that nearly as fun. Exhibit D -- The bartenders are nicer. Oddly enough. I mean the bartenders at Crocodile are somewhat nice, they give me my beer when I ask for one, and they answer my questions if I have any. But at Alligator, we've experienced bartenders giving us a free soda when we didnt want anymore liquor, and then giving us a free pizza with the free soda. I've also experienced free drinks from them. As well as winning bar tabs at the bingo night. Oh yea, and this cute bartender gave us free toppings on our pizzas without us even asking for it. and most importantly, Exhibit E -- The pizza is actually better! I really didn't like eating the pizza at Crocs until I've had 2-3 beers in me, so I'm always ending up with a handful of tickets by the end of the night. But at Alligator, there's absolutely no problem-- the pizzas are a notch better. Only minus: Some of my friends aren't drinking lately, but want a pizza while the rest of us are drinking and eating pizzas. We tried to buy a pizza, and the guy tells us it's $5 a pie. Seriously? If we bought a $4 Yeungling will get you a free pie, but to buy a pie it's $5? Does that even make sense? Well, it's the dude making the pizzas who told us this, not the bartender. Ummm.. Free pizza is cool. I dig that, but no way am I eating it again after I witnessed a mouse run from under the oven to the kitchen. Plus, the place stinks like vomit.. Or is it the cheese? I don't know, which probably means it's vomit.. Because parmesan cheese doesn't smell like vomit. I give it two stars because the layout is alright and the prices for drinks are reasonable. Plus they have lots of TVs to watch sports. :) They have DJs, karaoke night, and dancing in the back room, which is nice too. They have TWO bathrooms for the women, too. Yay! But don't expect to get into one of the two if you're heavy set or pregnant. They cramped it into the corner as kind of a last minute addition it seems. Very tiny. Go check it out, but avoid the pizza unless you have an iron stomach. Rodent issues are common in NY, but that was unacceptable. :::Update::: The owner responded saying that they don't have mice, but they most certainly do. I know what I saw, and my boyfriend, who WORKED there, can also confirm it. No big deal. It's a divey spot, the bartenders were attentive but always at the wrong time. I finally made my first trip to Alligator last night after going to Crocodile so many times. I was not disappointed. I really like the triangular booths in Alligator and even tho I had to get a slice of lemon in my Blue Moon (sigh, blasphemy), they have good beers on tap. The pizza is good, but thinner than the pizza at Crocodile and I was sad that it didn't appear I could get jalapeños on it. I love the atmosphere at Alligator and love the little back room area. I would definitely come back here (hopefully in warmer weather!) and just can't get enough free pizza. Mmm free food always wins me over. read more

I came here with a few friends after leaving a party and I cannot begin to describe how much I wished I was just at this place all night. Although it's possible if I was, that I would probably be the fattest person walking down the street in Williamsburg. (And that's not too hard) I'm a wino so I got wine and pizza, I think I got 3 pizzas, literally they never stop coming. I don't know what's up with the people not saying the pizza is good unless you are completely and utterly sober when you eat the pizza (it's possible it's good even without drinks I guess) ... I think anything free deserves to be called AMAZING, especially when you get up for a second and all of a sudden there are five more pizzas on your table--the best when you go with a group. I seriously thought the pizza thing was too good to be true. But, no, you guys--it's for real! Honest to goodness free personal pizza with EACH DRINK. And the drinks were reasonable. My wife paid for my drinks so my spoiled ass isn't quite sure of the price, but I think it was around $12 for a Blue Moon for her and a Jim Beam for me. The pizza--no, it's not DiFara but it's an honest to goodness brick oven pizza and it's pretty damn tasty. Good sauce, and I'm picky about my tomato sauce. I wish they'd rethink the choice to use cornmeal over just flour, but that would be the most minor of quibbles. Also, you can add a topping to your pizza for $1 (my partner chose sausage, the quality of which was surprisingly good!) We were there around 5pm on a Saturday and had no problem getting a table; plenty of seats at the bar as well. Good vibe, not as "bro" as I thought, though that may change later in the evening. I went here recently when my friends decided they were hungry on a barcrawl. I am not big on grabbing a bite while out on the town, so obviously I wasn't too impressed by the gimmick. But the pizza isn't bad, and the drinks are ok. My problem with this place however, lies with two key elements: 1. The bathroom. I have never felt more claustrophobic in a bathroom outside of a bus, train or airplane. VERY unpleasant. 2. The clientele. Now, I may have been here on an off night, however I have to say, I encountered quite a number of borish, impolite, and just generally unlikeable people at this bar. For any drink you order you will receive a ticket, and for each ticket you receive a free thin crust pizza baked in a brick oven.
