The insurance company trusted ServPro so much they didn't want to see anything until demolition was done! ServPro said they intend to make everything like new so no one could tell any damage happened. That's what they did!! Construction in your house is never easy and we had to move into a hotel for a month and get movers to move all of our furniture out. I was very impressed throughout the project with how well ServPro communicated and their desire to keep us happy. All their workers were very high quality and polite and considerate. They did a fabulous job on what is typically a nightmare for most folks. Even after project completion we noticed a few things that had been damaged and ServPro took care of it. My mom unexpectedly had to move in with me and is terminally ill. The home isn't vented properly and the gas stove/oven was causing air quality issues for her. $300 to cap off a kitchen gas line. Literally pulled out range, capped it, pushed it back. It took less than 10 minutes. It was initially higher but I got a "previous" customer discount of $50. I had to get it capped for an appliance change & before it was delivered. Now that other places are responding (after the work is complete and paid for - I paid $150 - $200 more than I should have). They have it listed as base cost for repair. It wasn't a repair. Ouch! If I weren't in a hurry to provide better indoor quality air to my mom by switching out the range- I would have waited to have more quotes. I definitely would have picked someone else so money was more directed to taking care of my terminally ill mom. Lesson learned.

That was ridiculous, toilets seldom go "bad", it is the fill and dump valves that need to be replaced. I fixed the flapper valve assembly myself for about $12. I hate to say this but it appears that there is something going on in the plumbing repair business where they are charging extremely high prices. You can call a few of them and they will all quote the same ridiculous price for a repair.
