We have used Stanley for quite a few years now to clean our ducts every spring. They always do a great job and are very professional. This time, they forgot to vacuum up the debris left behind under every duct and left. We called right away because it was quite the mess. Did I mention this was 2 months ago? We've called 4 times, sent photos and are always told the right department "isn't answering". Of course it's past the time of them cleaning it up (hello, 2 months), but a partial refund is the least they can do. Worst of all, they ask us to keep calling back to resolve it - instead of just making it a priority and resolving it themselves. read more

We had our hardwood floors "cleaned" on Monday. The technician was really nice and spent a lot of time working on the floors. However the machinery used didn't actually clean them. They looked dirty afterwards so I spot checked with a paper towel, and it was filthy. The grooves in the wood didn't get cleaned at all. I've called Stanley Steamer and just gotten the call center. They wouldn't connect me with someone at the Spokane Store. Monday they promised I would get a call back within 48 hours. Yesterday they promised a same day call back. Nothing yet. For $200+, dirty floors and no customer service. Update: Stanley Steemer sent a new crew out. They explained that the other guy was new and wasn't using the machinery properly. These new guys used a different machine and process. So I appreciate them coming back and doing the job right. We had an ice dam at our house which caused a great amount of water to flood into our attic, through the main floor and into the crawl space. Our carpets had over an inch of standing water, the crawl space had 3-4 inches in the area of the leak and water continued to pour down the interior walls. Insurance company recommended Stanley Steam. Two trucks arrive 48 hours after my call. Looking at the disaster their first step was to take moisture readings on the walls. Step two, ask if they can borrow a ladder to look into the attic. Step three go into the crawl space and look at the 3-4 inches of standing water. Step four clearly state that we have a ice dam causing the water to flood our house. Now they procedure to take pictures and document the disaster. 4 hours later they state they need to call my insurance company for direction. They call and state they will now leave and wait for further direction from the insurance carrier. Our house is overflowing with water, and they do nothing to assist us in the clean up. I tell them I will personally pay for their help with a credit card. They state they will write up an estimate and leave. I called my insurance agent and he too is upset with Stanley Steamer. STANLEY STEAMER is not a water restoration provider. In the following 2-3 days the ice dam melted, we ourselves cleaned and dried out the house and now over a month later I'm still waiting for Stanley Steamer for a follow up call. Wow! These guys (and gals) are awesome! The booking process was quick and easy, and the communication throughout the process to have my air ducts cleaned was exceptional. Besides arriving when scheduled, I also received a phone call letting me know the technicians were on their way, which added to the convenience of planning my day. The techs were courteous, clean-cut, conscientious and worked diligently. They treated my house with respect and you can tell that they are very professional, and have a culture of doing things the right way. With three dogs, I'm embarrassed by how much nasty-junk they found to remove, but the results are incredible, and it's as though my house is new again! Stanley Steemer came out to clean my Air Ducts and shampoo my dining room chairs (which hadn't been cleaned in years). The technicians showed up on time, walked me through exactly what they planned to do, and got everything done in a timely manner. Terrible customer service. I spoke with 4 different people and they all told me different things. We got our carpet ready for the shampoo service, they told us they were on their way, only to get a call 30 minutes later saying they couldn't come. I am very disappointed with this company and will never recommend them to anyone. You guys should work on communicating better, your customer service is a joke. read more

I had a confirmed appointment for today. I rescheduled my regular plans, spent time preparing for the carpet cleaning as well for my 3pm-6pm appointment. The website said they call before arriving when on their way, that didn't happen. They called at arrival went I stepped out for a few minutes and only 5 minutes away. I rushed back home to meet them only to have them tell me they couldn't do the job since they didn't have the "portable equipment" ( I'm on a third floor apartment) which I stated when I booked the service and they confirmed it later. I was very disappointed as I was having family arrive in town tomorrow for the upcoming Holiday. The cleaners said the dispatcher didn't inform them of the 3rd floor apartment and the other portable device is " broken". They gave me the bosses card and ensured I'd be getting a call in a few minutes from the dispatcher to discuss the issue and the soonest they could come back is on Monday between 11am and 2pm which is very inconvenient as again family visiting for Thanksgiving. The only reason I giving one star is because the 2 young men that were going to do the service were very polite and helpful with my questions and had great costumer service. I still don't even know if I really have a confirmed appointment for Monday, I guess we'll see since no response. Not really a great impression or way to earn a first time customers business. read more

I had the air ducts cleaned in the house I just purchased and the technicians used these cool guards on every corner to ensure that the equipment didn't leave any scuffs on the freshly painted walls. When I made an appointment the office gave me a window of 9:00 a.m. and noon. At 12:40 they called to let me know they were running late, something I had already figured out. Finally 45 minutes late they showed up. We had all the rooms emptied of furniture and one of the kids ran the machine through in a matter of minutes. The second one just spent all his time texting on his phone. I never did see him do anything. We questioned some places that didn't look clean and were told it was just wear on the carpet. Funny how it only wore in a few places. I would not use this company again. The only upside is they did come out here, something ZeroRez would not even do. Our furniture turned out very nice. However, we have a small custom area rug that needed cleaning. There were two young men who provided our cleaning service; one had been with the company a few months and the other a year. One who had only been with the company a few months told us, after they unsuccessfully tried to clean the rug, that they could not guarantee the cleaning of old, worn rugs. Our rug is less than 6 months old and is not worn. My husband gave the young man a piece of his mind. They tried again and the rug came out pretty clean but it could have been better. Before cleaning the rug, the team did not even ask what the rug was made of. There was no damage done but if the rug was 100% wool the hot water they use would have ruined it. We have hardwood floors and the team did not bring tarps to protect our floors, saying there were no tarps available. Also during the entire visit the young men bickered between themselves about everything. The young man who had been with the company for a year took my husband aside and told him that the other young man thinks he knows everything and is always trying to tell him what to do. He also stated that theirs was a new franchise and the new owner was trying to make things better. Overall I would say this team of Stanley Steemer employees was very unprofessional and unprepared. The owner needs to take another look at making his franchise better. read more
